Way to TOTALLY ignore all of the differences between the MKZ and the Fusion. Suspension, adaptive LED headlamps, 3.7L V6, wheels, exterior sheet metal, push button transmission, better leather, real wood, rear sunshade, retractable roof, rear heated seats, cooled front seats, THX audio and I'm sure a few more things. If you don't like those things and don't think it's worth the premium that's fine but don't say stupid things like 'not much'.

But that won't stop the negatards from calling it a "tarted up" Escape, will it?

Ditto (for the wife). She had an Aviator and likes Lincolns (I had a LS years ago) but the MKX just didn't work back in 08 so we got an Edge. I could live with the Escape but the MKC is so much nicer to me (and to her I think).

I've not heard of any paint issues with Sterling Grey. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The red is stunning IMO (since I'm driving one) but grey is my next favorite color. It's really your decision.

Looks to me like someone was cherry picking numbers, using the worst Fusion numbers and the best competition numbers.

Most tests put the 2.0L EB Fusion at 6.6-6.9 0-60 and the 1.6L EB at 8.1. Mine is considerably faster than my old 3.0L, which is what the 2.0L EB was aimed at replacing, not the 3.5L Sport. Ford hasn't come out with a Sport/ST replacement engine yet but I assume it would be the 2.3L EB.

I'd say it's a cross between P71 and FordBuyer with just a touch of Blackhorse thrown in for good measure........

My 3.0 V6 Fusion only had about 220 lb/ft compared to the 2.0L EB 270. My 2.0EB is a lot faster than the 3.0 and probably pretty close to the 3.5L.

The origin of the term crossover or CUV came from putting a SUV style body on a car chassis as opposed to a truck chassis. And that's still true with a few exceptions where crossovers are called SUVs for marketing purposes.
