  1. And who held a gun to their heads and told them they had to live in New York City?
  2. They do have it which is why I think Ford will have it eventually just to keep up. The information is available but they need a front end to interpret that information for the customer and to hide details that the customer doesn't need to see. Maybe they'll roll this out with Lincoln as part of their new concierge type customer service.
  3. $4200 more per vehicle AND record sales. Now do the negatards understand what Ford was doing when they ditched the old model?
  4. What "technical excellence"? It's much easier to build an electric vehicle than it is to build a parallel hybrid. Build a sleek sports car body. Drop in a huge battery pack and some electric motors - all off the shelf parts. What technological innovation has Tesla brought to the table?
  5. Should be $3750 just like the Cmax Energi. Same powertrain.
  6. I believe that outside of a few really atrocious school systems that have lots of crime or other distractions, it's not the school that matters as much as the students. If the student is willing to learn and put in the work to get good grades they will. If they're not then it doesn't matter how good the school or the teachers are. Some schools may be better suited to help kids individually but that's something the parents could provide with tutoring. I think most people choose private schools for religious reasons or for social acceptance. Personally I think kids educated in public schools experience much more diversity and are much better able to deal with the real world.
  7. If you take that chart and put 2 columns in for each city - one downtown in prime real estate and another one 20 miles away in the suburbs - you'll get much different break even points. It's possible to live in a suburb of an expensive city and have the same financials as downtown in a less expensive city. Along with the higher cost of living in certain areas (Atlanta vs. LA or NY e.g.) comes higher salaries which offset some of it.
  8. I knew the break even point was higher than 40 but was too lazy to calculate it.
  9. I must be misinterpreting your posts. Sorry about that.
  10. I work for one of those process bound big corporations so trust me - I know what you're getting at. But I don't think the current Ford management team operates that way and you know these decisions were made with Mulally and all the head honchos, not by some first or second level manager just following their normal process.
  11. That's what I was getting at. Offsite probably does not mean Flat Rock. This happens all the time.
  12. I understand that but some people have reported problems with the status checker app and healthcheck is easier since you don't have to even use a usb drive. But yes, that should also work.
  13. IF (big IF) they're shipping the cars to Flat Rock and then back to Hermosillo you can bet there is a good reason. I understand companies do stupid things when they are mired in process gridlock but given Ford's out of the box thinking so far (hiring a plane to fly the dies to Detroit and back to fix them, using a new plant that isn't online yet) I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Are we even positive that's what happened? There are other locations that are "offsite" other than Flat Rock. I can think of 2 simple explanations IF that's what is happening. Flat Rock transportation to the dealerships isn't ready yet so there are no trains and/or trucks available or there is a regulatory issue with shipping vehicles from Flat Rock to the dealer when they have a Mexican VIN number.
  14. My guess would also be around 40 F. That's around the temp when the EATC shuts off the a/c compressor.
  15. The Energis have the capability to run on 100% electric power alone until the battery is depleted (user selectable). So I assume the propulsion motor is either upgraded or the standard one is up to the task already. It would be interesting to see a battery only test between the Cmax Energi and the Volt.
  16. Other than styling and the size of the battery pack - how is this any different than a Focus electric? Take a Ford GT - remove the ICE, add a huge battery pack and an electric motor at each wheel and some software to control it all and you have the same vehicle.
  17. He was no longer a military leader. He was DIRECTOR OF THE CIA. I don't normally care what our leaders do privately but in this case an extramarital affair could easily lead to blackmail or inadvertent disclosure of classified information. So it's not what he was doing - it's how that could be used against him.
  18. Exactly. The libs either don't understand this or they intentionally ignore it because that's not what "should" be happening. YOU CANNOT TAX A BUSINESS.
  19. My guess is if you manually install and do a healthcheck it will update your version online, but that's just a guess. I think the only issue would be if you installed it on a vehicle it wasn't meant to be installed on like a fusion hybrid.
  20. Not puzzling if you realize when they say "car" they really mean "vehicle".
  21. It's still an inverter whether it's built-in or added on.
  22. I think the car is an engineering marvel. It's sexy. I like it. It might quality for a popular science award, but not "Car of the Year".
  23. If Ford, who has allowed customers to do their own sync/mft updates for years and who would have to expend a lot of money to get dealers to do these upgrades under warranty - they must have a REALLY good reason.
