  3. Ford did the repair of my water pump. that was at 88,000 miles. now I'm at 164,000. Did the repair extend the life, or am i fast approaching another $2,200 repair, or worse? anyone know?
  4. Bad design having it internal. I saw yesterday that a class action law suit has been filed against Ford over the water pump issue. It would be a nice surprise if they issued a recall in response and i got reimbursed for some of my cost. 2013 Taurus (166,000 miles) a ton more issues than that of my 2007 Explorer (235,000 miles), and my wives 2005 Freestar (200,000 miles) Now rear passenger side door lock is having issues and door wont open from inside or outside. Unless you pull up on lock at the same time i hit the unlock button. Radio /cd randomly doesn't work after start. Have to remove key, get out of car and wait 10 sec then restart. then sometimes it will work again. Ready to be rid of it and get something else.

  6. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-ford-gran-torino-4/ 451 Miles, that's crazy. very nice. Not mine, just thought it was pretty amazing.
  7. thanks, i like the looks of the wagon a lot better. i'd really look at that.
  8. So, is that the difference between a wagon and a 4 door hatch, the window in the back area?
  9. There are some really good deals on used C max with leather seats. Are there any issues with the 2015-2017 versions? Why are they not selling many?
  10. My 2007 Eddie Bauer Explorer with 235,000 miles, "leather seating surfaces" still look good. clean condition about once every other month.
  11. Still a lot. I bought a 1992 Ranger XLT regular cab, 4 cyl, 5 speed. a/c, sliding rear window, am/fm-cassette, that was it. $8,500. Drove fro 2 years, put 75,000 miles on it , sold for $7,500. I loved that truck Adjusting for inflation tht is $15,278 today.
  12. I am a Chief Estimator for a General Contractor. I'll get an e mail from a recruiter saying "I saw your resume and thought you would be a great fit for our insurance sales rep in Ohio" . I've never worked in insurance or sales. I've e mailed them with the question, "what in my resume leads you to believe id be a good insurance rep?" No reply. They are just mass e mailing. drives me crazy.
  13. 2005 Freestar now has 185,000 miles. Had the front end rebuilt. No other issues. roll on.
  14. Its in at my local Ford Dealer. $2200 estimate. Yikes.
  15. The last time i had to replace a water pump was in my 1986 Plymouth Turismo (college car) and i was less that $100
  16. So my water pump went out at 82,000. my repair guy says the water pump runs off the main belt. $1,100 repair. what in the world? is that right?
  17. I wish i had got the leather seats. the cloth seats are bad. the nylon type cloth stays dirty, its a pain to clean etc. I wish they were real cloth like our 2005 freestar. why did ford change to that nylon? its in the escape too I know.
  18. i had a similar thing in my 2013 SEL. i had 70,000 miles though. i had the struts replaced, as my mechanic said the passenger side one was leaking. No issues since, and it rides a lot better.
  19. That guy in the video was very excited. I still wish it had suicide doors, adn i still dont like those rims. interior looks very nice. Giant step up from current lincoln.
  20. My 2013 Taurus has a 75% domestic content. The original stick said its made in Chicago, engine USA, transmission USA. This is a general question. what % of the price in general is labor? engine? transmission? interior? steel body panels? frame? etc. etc.. Just curious. Does labor go into the domestic content, or is that just materials?
  21. It does have the yellow cap. says e85, and flex fuel under the sel thng on the trunk.
  22. i have always used 87 octane regular a new Sheetz station opened near me. it offers 88 octane e15 (for 2001 & newer vehicles only" it also offers e85 flex fuel minimum 51% ethanol. Can i use either of these in my Taurus, and how much lower on avg. will gas mileage be? The flex fuel was about 20% less than regular, and i think i heard flex fuel gets 15% less mileage, so it would still be cheaper. Opinions/experience with either?
  23. Anyone know the price difference between the Taurus and Charger police pkg? I drove by NC State trooper area where all new cars come in and they were all Chargers. I have a friend who is a local town police man in NC and they have Taurus cruisers. He said their maintenance costs are lower than the Charger. Has anyone heard if that's tru in general? He likes the Taurus, saw I had one and that's why we were talking about it. He did say is he had to choose he would pick the Charger, but did like his Taurus. Sales of Taurus Police interceptor seem slow to me, but I am seeing more all the time.
