  1. Off duty Police Officer shoots own son mistaking him for intruder: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2012/07/police_investigate_dads_fatal.html For every toddler shooting themselves when they find a gun in the house you have one mentally ill person shooting someone. Both are small incidents statistically. It rather annoying to see both sides strutting their feathers over the statistical fringes of the situation and working up the initial hype instead of some real discussion. But that is politics now-a-days anyways. Both sides promoting failed ideas to appease large money supporters, entertainers instead of reporters and lazy masses eating it up instead of putting in the hard work and time that it takes for a democracy to work.
  2. It is the fading with time that usually is the biggest variable in matching paint.
  3. Looks like you killed the post. No one party or one "side" has it right. Every leader and all representatives before now have shown good ideas, bad ideas, ideas taken too far, ideas not taken far enough, etc. Talking about parties or sides instead of individual ideas or voting according to (or against) those sides keeps up stuck in kindergarten social structures and leave many looking like kindergarteners. If a person cannot list at least a few things someone else is doing well they are dishonest (or delusional) and not worth listening to. There are many examples of "socialism" done right and wrong. Same goes for capitalism. Same goes for dictatorships. It has more to do with the character of those involved in the process and who they are truly looking out for. In the end, all involve humans leaving any system vulnerable to abuse and mismanagement.
  4. Looks like 97-03 F-150 taillights with the extra amber directionals for markets that required them.
  5. My '97 F150, '03 Vibe both had them on the drivers side. My current '08 Legacy has it on the passengers. I'm neither here nor there on the location. I guess the driver's side was a shorter walk.... Any one know the history of gas cap locations? I can envision the passenger side location working for the old road side gas pumps from way way way back. Thankfully we have the cheat arrow on the fuel gauge for those intermittent brain freezes
  6. I'm curious also. I'd like for it to be my next vehicle. My current '08 Legacy I get about 25mpg mixed in the winter and around 29mpg mixed in the summer. Which I don't find bad for a 4 speed auto and AWD. And more importantly how it handles. After testing Malibus, Fusions, Jettas, Altimas, Camrys etc this past summer nothing felt as plated as the Subie.
  7. It's because they originally shared the taillights and tailgate with that generation F150. It required them to taper the bed back to transition from the wider cab to the F-150 tailight-tailgate combo at the rear. I never liked the way it looked. Each update I am waiting for the correction of the proportions.
  8. they were sharp cars for the late 80's.
  9. I love the '03 Vibe in our driveway. 125k with the only problems being the toyota drivetrain mysteriously eating auto tranny fluid. I have to add a quart every year or so. Started around 65k and all the dealer could say was "dunno?". Ford need another vehicle like this. I'm hoping the next Focus has a nice roomy good-looking 5-door version.
  10. My first impression also. Shall see if it holds true once the camo is removed.
  11. reminds a bit of this in the headlights. though they are a common shape on a lot of vehicles. Not used to seeing Jeeps with horizontal tailights, but I suppose it'll grow on me. Its a nice simple clean design.
  12. Most seat also go through life cycle testing using robotic arms with a load cell and "butt" pan attached to the end. A path is set up to simulate a person sitting down, rotating in and then rotaing out and standing up. 95 percentile male weight was used if I rememebr correctly. Like most things in cars today they are very thuroughly tested.
  13. Making the headlights wrap around really take away a lot of the 300's unique character
  14. As other's have said congrats on being able to trasfer. Though it will take a while to feel "at home" again. Gambino Ford over here 60 mins east in Lockport just announced that they took Ford's dealer consolidation buy-out offer. There are so many domestic dealerships so close together soemthing has to give. Good luck.
