No one party or one "side" has it right. Every leader and all representatives before now have shown good ideas, bad ideas, ideas taken too far, ideas not taken far enough, etc. Talking about parties or sides instead of individual ideas or voting according to (or against) those sides keeps up stuck in kindergarten social structures and leave many looking like kindergarteners.
If a person cannot list at least a few things someone else is doing well they are dishonest (or delusional) and not worth listening to.
There are many examples of "socialism" done right and wrong. Same goes for capitalism. Same goes for dictatorships. It has more to do with the character of those involved in the process and who they are truly looking out for.
In the end, all involve humans leaving any system vulnerable to abuse and mismanagement.
