  1. Looks like GTs are FINALLY beginning to ship... tracking changed to Status: Released; Primary Status: Awaiting Shipment, with new eta start/end dates of Jan 2/Jan 8. Looks like we'll miss the tax credit for this year by just a few days... bummer.
  2. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jensen/2018/12/18/new-class-action-claims-more-toyota-trucks-have-dangerous-rusty-frames/ Guess you missed this decades long Toyota debacle. Probably because they pretty much get a pass from the media for some reason... must be the koolaid!!
  3. A bad enough leak from one of the two transmission cooler lines (supply and return), that run between the tranny and tanny cooler at the radiator, will leave you stranded after the fluid level falls below the intake in the oil pan. It's not a tranny problem and doesn't usually damage the tranny because it simply quits working as soon as fluid pressure drops. It's a very common problem now in older vehicles in northern states due to the high corrosion rates of the magnesium chloride, used to pre-treat roads before a winter storm, eating away at the lines. Sounds like some new Explorers may have either faulty coolent line connections or bad coolers.
  4. +1... they probably put more effort in designing the current one piece glass with little square portal than making the entire glass lower.
  5. You also don't need to buy it now. If Lincoln is like Ford you can purchase anytime until the factory warranty expires... so you have lots of time to think about it. You don't even need to set reminders because you'll get a bunch of letters from Ford (Lincoln) over the last year of factory warranty trying to get you to purchase a plan.
  6. https://www.businessinsider.com/lincoln-aviator-grand-touring-2020-review-photos-verdict-features-2019-12 Another recent GT review with some nice photos!
  7. https://www.greencarcongress.com/2019/11/20191106-schaeffler.html Here's the motor-generator/clutch systems Ford is using for the Explorer and Aviator...
  8. Should be a no brainer... Ford already has the site set up, so why not share it with Lincolns that come off the exact same lines!! The eta end date will show 1990 until status changes to Produced, if sent offsite that won't happen until after it returns. Shipment and transit dates won't fill in until its released and awaiting shipment.
  9. After searching other sites and forums it appears that everyone with GT Produced and ETA end dates are now showing the Origin Recieved/In Production status. One ETA end date was today, 12/15, so that's not going to happen. So it's looking like they're being produced but none have been released yet.
  10. Several have had Produced status... mine showed Produced for four days before switching to Origin Recieved on 12/9, but primary status is still In Production and the eta end date has remained 12/22 since it was produced. Are the GTs sent back to CAP for final QC inspections after being produced at the MOD Center... that could explain the Origin Recieved (by shipper) while still in production.
  11. As far as I know there haven't been any GTs delivered to dealers yet... not even stock orders. Some retail orders have been produced but they all seem to be going into limbo status, so OKTB must have been issued at least initially... it's looking like the GT launch on the new hybrid line at the MOD Center may be a repeat of the main line launch. I believe Explorer Hybrids are arriving at dealers now though.
  12. So yours updated sometime last night? Mine is still Origin Recieved... so it was most likely sent offsite also. It did show Produced for four days until changing to Origin Recieved... so it must have been sent to a storage lot to wait it's turn to line up at the ramp for shipping. But that's just a guess, it doesn't seem like anyone knows what's really going on with these unusual status updates... especially unusual for current builds.
  13. See Mustangchief's Dec 8 post in the Aviator GT Order thread...
  14. I have the same eta end date as yours with a 12/5 produced date... so it looks like we're in the same boat, lol ! 12/22 is still possible, especially if shipped by convoy. The other dates should fill in when it's shipped. Is your Black Label also a Grand Touring?
  15. I said before that I spent a good while inspecting the very first truck load of early run Aviators my dealer recieved and they all had excellent fit and finish. I've also stopped by several times since then to see if they had our color combo and I haven't seen any issues yet, even on units that haven't been prepped. If I had spotted inconsistent quality I would have canceled our order until next spring. That said, I agree there is no excuse for letting even one Job 2 unit slip through the cracks with multiple panel alignment issues.
  16. My status was looking good until it went from Produced; In Production with an eta end date to Origin Received; In Production with same eta. Origin Received while still In Production doesn't appear to be a normal status.
  17. My status changed from Produced to Origin Received, but the primary status stayed at In Production instead of changing to Awaiting Shipment. Does anyone know what the In Production - Origin Received combination means... is it going to be shipped offsite? The ETA End Date hasn't changed.
  18. It missed their "top safety pick" literally by one foot... every other rating was green except some footwell intrusion that could result in a left foot injury in one of the offset tests. Good grief is right!!! It will most likely earn 5 stars on the government tests.
  19. My 03 Mach 1 had the track test, back then they put a sticker on driver side window with note explaining the extra 32 miles. Even though I have an eta end date, mine still says produced and in production... I assume released and at ramp will come next? I've read elsewhere that the eta is normally a 6 day window with start and end dates, so with a 12/22 end date my delivery window should be 12/16 to 12/22... fingers crossed!!
  20. It would be beneficial to have a list of definitions that explain what all the different tracking terms mean, especially the less common ones like 'Origin Recieved' and 'Sent Offsite'.
  21. Just checked the Lincoln site link in the OP again... it first comes up showing 18/26 for all models, both gas and hybrid, which doesnt make any sense. But after refreshing the page it goes to what I assume are the correct numbers, with 30/34 for the the GT when driven as a regular hybrid instead of a phev, but driving as a regular hybrid isn't listed on the epa site.
  22. Thanks... it seems to be back to 30/34 now, but 18/26 sounds about right for gas only. Neither of these sets of numbers appear on the epa site, I'm confused!!
  23. Where do they show these hybrid ratings?
