  1. I love the movie Bulitt but I've studied the chase scene pretty close and the reason that the Beetle keeps showing up is because that's really only one scene taken from multiple camera angles. There are are probably only 3 city scenes that are taken from multiple angles including in-car angles and that's what makes up the entire city chase scene. I'm not hating here, like I said I love that movie and the chase scene too.
  2. Probably so, plus, I can't help but feel that the retro renaissance is behind us. I do love the look of that rendering though.
  3. I know big Al has moved on but I'm a little surprise they didn't recycle the name given Mulally's reaction when he arrived at Ford and found out they quit making the Taurus.
  4. While were ranting abut rules of the road I'll mention one more thing that annoys the heck out of me and that's people who feel like they have a God-given right to drive with their bright lights on as a default. My how things have changed in the 35 years I've been driving. At one time it was considered courteous to simply flash your brights lights at them as if to say " excuse me but your bright lights are on" but it seems that no longer works so now I just turn on my brights until they shut theirs off.
  5. Quite frankly I wish my 07 GT500 would've come without a backseat. I absolutely hated the times I had adults back there and I decided 3 or 4 years ago that I won't ever haul backseat passengers around in that car again.
  6. It's not so much talking on the phone that bothers me but the sheer number of people that are blatantly texting. They don't even try to hide it where I'm at here in South-Central Indiana. The ones that do think they're being covert about it can't even begin to hide it, a person has a unique look about them while they are glancing down at their phone. Maybe it's my age but these people scare the living shit out of me and a big part of me thinks that texting while driving ought to be hit as hard as drinking while driving. Admittedly I've not fully thought that one out but these people really torque me.
  7. My 13 MKZ has the push button shifters and I acclimated to them pretty quickly except for one time. A girl was backing out of a parking place at a CVS as I was approaching and as I stopped she kept backing up, instinctively I reached for the console shifter and in a split second remembered the buttons. That split second cost me a front fascia hit by a 20 year old girl in a ragged old Jeep Wrangler with no insurance. I still love the push buttons but I still reach for that shifter from time to time.
  8. I think that's awesome. I remember you and I were cross shopping the same two cars at the same time. The SHO or the 13' MKZ. Funny you ended up with the SHO and me the "Z". The certificate is great, I have an 07 GT500 Red Appearance Package with a number 151 build according to my certificate. I have to be honest, I love the MKZ but always felt like I screwed up not getting the SHO instead. I'd love to trade the "Z" in for an RS. Just owning the GT500 makes me long for something a little more spirited for a daily driver.
  9. I've expressed interest to my dealer in obtaining one and I've not yet heard a word on what their allocation will be. I like the idea that they're offering winter tires/wheels as an option. This car is really going to ratchet up the tuner/drifter segment as I can't see Subaru setting back while they get their butts proverbially handed to them in the horsepower department.
  10. I can’t open the link for some reason. Anybody else have this issue?
  11. I’ll leave production capacity and allocation to the experts on here but it’s great to see demand abroad for a truly American icon that is the Mustang. I sympathize with those that would like a Mustang but can’t get one. On the flip-side I would like to be able to get a LHD Falcon Ute here in the states.
  12. I can relate, my wife has been after me to teach her to drive a manual so she can pilot the GT500. I've put her off 8.5 years but feel my luck may be running out.
  13. I would love to see the F250’s and F350’s become more attractive but I think the price has really outpaced the common person. I wanted a SuperDuty for the longest time for household use but basically waited 15 years to buy a MY 99 while I continued to use my 93 F250. I don’t know if anything can bring the prices of these trucks down to a more manageable level at this point in time when you consider that one can easily dump $45,000-$50,000 into a F150 today. I just don’t think we can get that genie back in the bottle.
  14. I’m currently in a holding pattern waiting for my dealer to let me know their allocation. I wonder if they should’ve heard something by now
  15. I’m very interested in the standard RS but I have to admit that with today’s leap in engine performance output regarding high horsepower this is really starting to remind me of the late 90’s – early 2000’s PC battles where one would go buy a new computer and it was outdated before you could get it home and out of the box.
  16. As a consumer steeped in the Blue Oval I absolutely love the performance push that Ford seems to be committed to.
  17. I played this game with my GT500 back in 07’ but I’ll not be participating in this buffoonery this time. I was lucky in that I had a dealer that didn’t fleece me with an ADM. Still Ford sold everybody a bill of goods in that the GT500 would be a limited run which seems to be the claim with the RS too. I want the RS but I still haven’t gotten it approved through the purchasing department (the wife), plus I can wait a year if need be as they will be available then I’m sure. I’m going to my dealer this Thursday and I hope to get more information about availability then.
  18. I have just one very troubling issue. How to sell my 2 and a half year old MKZ without getting totally fleeced so I can make room for the RS.
  19. I think the 11-15's were in transition. I have an 07 GT500 and I think the retro look is fitting for the car but with the 11-15's they used the same old, tired retro green house but attempted to modernize the other styling que's. The end result was IMHO the styling seemed somewhat clumsy and forced.
  20. In my humblest of opinions Brad struggled all night to get back to the front if he lost the lead. When he came out 2nd after that last pit stop I knew he would be finishing 2nd. He was definitely dominant when he was in the lead and he lead a big chunk of that race.
  21. You're right, I don't have to take it to that dealer so I'm living with the issue and manually turning off my turn signal when it remains on. I will take t back to my dealer a little later in the fall for it's regularly scheduled service and I will have them address it at that time.
  22. First of all Happy Labor Day to everyone one in the states. I posted a week or so ago in the Lincoln section about issues I was having surrounding controls on my steering wheel. That problem has been mostly repaired but now my directional signal doesn't always shut off after completing a turn. The stalk does always return to the center position but the turn signal doesn't always shut off. Sometimes it does however. I know the car has to go back in but the confusing part to me is that the stalk appears to be functioning as normal. Could it be that the electronic parts are simply FUBAR? The worst part is I have to take it back to my local dealership which is crap and while making the initial repair they were kind enough to preset all of my radio stations to country music. I'll spare everyone of my musical opinions. And this is one of many reasons why I drive 2 hours to my preferred dealer.
  23. I had a 2003 Lincoln LS V8 purchased new and I really loved it. I traded it in for a 2013 MKZ which is a really nice care but I never considered the “Z” the evolution or next step for the LS, it’s an entirely different animal altogether. The LS was a blast to drive and it really felt more like something I would put on as opposed to something I got in to drive. For years I kept hoping there would be an evolution of the LS but Lincoln marketed it in the beginning, released it, and abandoned it, in fact I’m not sure how they could’ve left it to rot on the vine more than what they did. Although it did share platforms with the “new” Thunderbird and Jaguar S-Type I’d always considered it Lincoln’s last allocated or unique platform.
