  1. Look at those Escape numbers... Still kicking butt and taking names. Honestly its one of the best looking Mini SUV's. Ford will dominate from here on out. Save for a few fire sales we still have to get through.
  2. Sizzler: I'm with you on this whole 5.0 vs. 6.2 fight. I had a lot of hopes for the 5.0 but they quickly faded as I read the details. First thing that came to my mind was that I wanted the 6.2 in the Mustang instead. The whole point of owning a Mustang is for the potential. But its probably still too early to tell exactly how much potential the 5.0 has. I think the only issue here is that modifications are going to be extremely costly and will not yield great results. Gone are the days of inexpensive tweaks that result in big power gains. I dont want to get in this fight, i'm mearly stating my opinion... which is ok right? :shades: Either way, I'm going to sit down with my local Ford Dealer and price out a 2011 GT w/Track Pack in the next few months.
  3. 550 hp out of a 3.5L Twin Turbo Motor is nothing. Properly tuned/modified Toyota Supra's have been handily producing 4-5-600 hp for quite sometime. There are plenty of 800+ hp Supra's as well on the street.
  4. I just have one question: Where's the 5.0 badge??? Guess its better left in the history books... or the aftermarket guys.
  5. Excellent... 412 I like the number. And it looks like my favorite rims of the Mustang line up grew a size or two for the GT. This baby is a mid-high 4 Second car for sure.
  6. V6 is the new V8. I expect there to be a lot less demand for V8's as V6 powered cars provide comprable performance. Motor Trend recently tested the V6 Genesis Coupe and the V6 Camaro. They both had 0-60 times of 5.6-5.7 seconds with the Camaro just a tenth behind. And all these cars get great mileage. As someone else mentioned, maybe this opens up the opportunity for another motor i.e. Ecoboost 4
  7. Man... that thing is cool. At least IT'S Rear Wheel Drive I can just imagine the Amatoya being purchased by regluar folks who live in the Los Angeles Hills. Could make a decent commuter car when those nasty Santa Ana Winds kick up.
  8. Yup. I was just stating that it is 10 less than the current GT which is impressive.... and 45 hp more than a 2004 GT. I sure hope we get 5.0 power figures at the LA Auto show. Ford seems to be doing a great job of making announcements and getting as much media attention as possible.
  9. Looks great! I love the new grill and pony insert. And those rims are by far my favorite of the whole line. I am still in shock and awe. 305 Hp? only 10 less than the latest GT? And this motor weighs about 40 lbs less than the 4.0. My 0-60 prediction: 5.3-5.5 Seconds thanks to the new six speed, a high rpm redline and no traction issues.
  10. Funny you guys bring this up: I considered a G35 Coupe when they were first introduced. The first time I sat in one was also my last. When getting in for a test drive, I closed the door and noticed that it touched my thigh. I handed the keys back to the sales guy and said "no thanks"
  11. Wow!! Indeed! 30MPG Highway??? that equals my 200 Hp 4 banger TSX Finally! Ford is taking a no compromise, no excuses, no dissapointments approach to products. :burnout: :burnout:
  12. Awesome.... cant go wrong with a Ford GT. Too bad its impossible to find one.
  13. I agree.... Its ridiculous how much C&D praises the Accord/Bimmer year in and year out. Always have, always will. It is nice to see a Ford on there.
  14. I wonder how much Ford paid C&D to say all those nice things about the technology... :D  :beerchug:
  15. Ugh... still no powertrain updates. Well, LA Autoshow is only.... *checks calendar* TWO Weeks Away!!! Cant wait. I'll be a kid in a Candy store.
  16. Moose, Completely agree with your comments above. And the criteria is never the same from year to year. Which in my opinion is ok since it keeps things interesting. The main reason I read the mag is for the cold hard performance numbers on new vehicles. When it comes to performance numbers, they are the best and have the most advanced testing equipment. IMO
  17. I'm a big fan of Motor Trend and have been a subscriber since 91. I really enjoy the Car Of The Year issue and I think the winner will be one of the following: Suzuki Kizachi - Retarded name but a fairly impressive car Mercedes Benz E-Class - Very impressive car with very advanced features Ford Taurus - Game changer in many ways. Has the makings of a Motor Trend COTY winner Chevrolet Camaro - Big Bang for the Buck Buick LaCrosse - It doesn't resembe anything GM has ever made. My guess for the winner: Ford Taurus SHO
  18. My thoughts exactly. There was no way Ford would let the 6.2L be equal to or less than GM's 6.2. Now, we wait for the 5.0L numbers: I say 375hp in the F150 and 400hp in the Mustang.
  19. Oh... MAN! I love it. Front, Back... everything. I only have a small gripe with the side skirt under the door. I dont like the way it flows. Man.. the back view is all super car.
  20. This is well said Richard. History has shown Ford's sincere dedication to UAW workers. I'm a little dissapointed that the union votes have gone against the concessions. I feel as though i have no choice but to sell my stock in the company. The option of bancruptcy still looms as the only way for Ford to get parity and reduce its debt. Or, they may consider another equity swap diluting value even further and making a recovery that much harder... Even Ron Gettelfinger is pleading with the UAW to approve concessions: Union Votes Go Against Cuts At Ford
  21. I really like your choice as a EcoBoost Fusion would be bad a**. Hopefully Ford will work out the emissions issues associated with that motor in the Fusion. Here's mine: 2011 EcoBoost F150 SuperCab. I'd get an Aftermarket Tune/Exhaust and hopefully push 450hp and 25MPG highway. I would really like an EcoBoost/TwinForced Mustang GT too... 3.5L, 6M, 3400 lb Curb... ha..
  22. I'm guessing this 2011/12 Crew Cab Raptor will be toned down a bit from the original Raptor in terms of exterior design. I bet the suspension also gets recalibrated a bit, but still fully capable. Super Truck.... I love those words.
