  1. 0-62 is 3.7 Seconds. Which means 0-60 is probably 3.4-3.5 I’m pretty confident Motortrend and MM&FF will be able to get it down to 2.9-3.1 second 0-60.
  2. I hate to say it again, F stock will, and always has underperformed compared to it’s peers. It’s a $3 stock at best in the current environment.
  3. I think its a great truck. And it reaches into an untapped market: the $70K Super Truck Market Who better than Ford to do it.
  4. I knew it! I've always felt that the 3.5L EB would be perfectly at home under the hood of the Raptor. Boy, things just keep on gettin better.. Go Ford! You will earn my dollars soon!
  5. hmm... Ecoboost 3.5 vs. 6.2 I think an EcoBoost F150 is rather exotic... as Pioneer mentioned above (and just as i thought) it should pull 25 MPGs on the highway in Extended Cab form. Add that to a potential 400hp rating and you have one killer truck. I think it could actually outsell the 6.2. I'd take the EcoBoost for sure.
  6. My last Mustang was also an 03 Cobra. I test drove an 05 when they came out but was not impressed at all. Since then I have had an 04 CLK and my 04 TSX. I've pretty much forgotten the Mustang until the announcement of the 5.0 just recently. I was very excited about the new motor and its underrated power, however I wasn't sure about picking one up just for the Motor alone (though I considered it). So I figured I would test drive an '10 since its essentially the same car. I was blown away by the quality, craftsmanship and fit & finish all the way around. I was even impressed with the buttoned down solid axle. So the Mustang has come a long way. Its gotten a bit pricey, but I honestly believe that it is the best car America builds.
  7. x2 as soon as you (chiefstang) mentioned the 6.2 sounded like a race car, I immediately thought of the 6.2 Raptor and how awesome it must sound & drive. I want the 6.2 in the mustang... not that there is anything at all wrong with the 5.0.
  8. Wow, really? I guess this article proves that you can complain about anything. I think deadviper's comment sums up my opinion of the article quite nicely.
  9. Ford will just issue more stock to pay off the debt :reading:
  10. I first heard about the skip shift yesterday myself. Someone mentioned it on svtperformance.com. My understanding is that it would only be noticed under light to moderate acceleration. I believe the older Camaros had a similar setup. Anyone accelerating under full throttle would not notice the skip shift as it would disengage... Mods were created for the older Camaros so i imagine that to be the case for the Mustang as well. Overall, it really doesnt hurt performance... its just a fuel saving nuisance.
  11. I just love how all of a sudden this is a beauty pageant to the Camaro guys where as before it was all about power.
  12. Thanks for the stats Versa.... This is HUGE!!! Lets compare (Edit: V6 Numbers are with the performance/track package): 0-60: V-6: 5.1 GT: 4.3 GT Wins Lat G: V-6: .96 GT: .94 V6 Wins 60-0 V-6: 104 GT with Brembos: 105 V6 Wins MPG: V-6 Wins Price: V-6 with Track/Performance Pack: $24,800 GT: $31,000 The six is a helluva deal! Also, I'm sure the GT's 4.3 0-60 time would improve with a base GT (less optioned-less weight). I'm willing to bet the next comparo will yield a 4.2 or 4.1 even. Like it was mentioned earlier in the thread, the area they used to test the cars didn't have the best traction.
  13. I just hope this thing can put the power to the ground. That is going to be the determining factor. Once I see the 0-60 numbers come in, I'll finally be able to decide on whether I go with a bargain basement V6 at 23K or pony up an additional 10K for a track pack GT. Six banger is such a bargain... OTOH 430hp+ aint no joke hmm...
  14. Wow... Ford sticking to its AWD/FWD Guns Nice looking car and great police chase entry behind the CV on the web broadcast this morning! As i suspected: No "Taurus" badging or even a mention of it. 3.5L EcoBoost is the consolation prize for RWD fans
  15. This is gonna be fun... My bet on the motor is either the 3.7L or the 5.0L (both of which are now avail in RWD as we saw in the Mustang) Whatever it is, it's probably going to be called Police Interceptor and not carry a Taurus badge anywhere on its body.
  16. I cant wait for Motor Trend's Battle of the Sixes. Shoot... I think i want a six. At 22K its hard to beat
  17. Gotta post Dyno numbers too. You'll prob be good for 380+ at the rear wheels with medium boost in that setup. I Miss my stangs...
  18. 'bout time they re-do their trucks. I'd toss in another mil or two just to make sure things go right. In my opinion Chevy stopped building trucks in 2003 when they came out with the angry design. They also re-engineered the transmission and left the motors unattended. I still miss my old Silverado, it was so advanced engineering wise for its time. My next truck will be a FORD for sure.
  19. This might mean that the 3.5L EcoBoost is not making it into the F150 afterall. This would be pretty disapointing to me as I am dying to see an RWD application. But this might also mean that the 4.4L Diesel motor is back on now. Which would be great news. I just hope it gets at least one of these two motors.
  20. I lol'd purdy good at that one  . My parents would be lost in a MyFord Touch equiped vehicle. I know I'm getting one... Sister wants one too.
  21. Wait... Did anyone else hear that? That was the sound of investors trampling each other in a mad rush to buy Ford stock. This is just ridiculously impressive. Now I have to wait for this system to be available in the Mustang and/or the F150. As if it wasn't hard enough to decide already. Anyone else notice what appears to be Adaptive Cruise Contorl in one of the pictures? This would be a Ford first I believe. I wonder if its Laser or Radar based.
