  1. Looks like the drivetrain has changed a ton! They either integrated the DC to DC converter (read: hybrid's alternator) into the transmission or that is the high voltage battery in the engine compartment. The converter grew or the battery shrunk.
  2. ^^^^^^ DUH! I kept trying to use the d-pad. I was looking right at the voice button, I should've seen that. We were more worried about how to navigate sync than anything else. Guess I lost a little credibility there.
  3. Oh no, this is on our lot with a window sticker and all.
  4. Sync changed a little as well. I have a Fusion Sport and am very familiar with how to navigate sync 3.x. On myfordtouch you are always on the phone. You can say "call home" at anytime and it will know what you want. On 3.x you would have to say "phone" first, or hit the phone button before "call home." Basically, on 3.x, if the audio units is on the input you want to command, you can control it with one command. On myfordtouch you can say "call xxx" whatever input your on. Streamlined the phone commands a little there. You can't bypass the prompts by hitting the voice button twice like in my car. You have to hear Lola say "DAH ... sync, please say a command." On 3.x, if your listening to sync audio, all you have to say is "play xxx xxx". On myfordtouch you HAVE to say usb first (even if you're already listening to sync audio), wait for her to ask for another command, then say "play xxx xxx" This is so counter intuitive. I was actually upset with 3.x that you couldn't just say "call xxx" when you were listening to sync audio. You always have to say phone. But now you have to say usb everytime? Even when its being used? On 3.x, the command took as long as it did to actually say. Hit steering wheel button twice ... sync: "beep" ... me: "play album abbey road" ... sync: "chime . playing album abbey road" On myfordtouch: Hit steering wheel button .... sync: "DAH . sync, please say a command" ... me: "usb" .... sync: "usb ... please say a command" ... me: "play album abbey road" ... sync: "chime . playing album abbey road" Another nitpick. There was a delay after it asks for the command and actually starts listening. You have to give it a few seconds otherwise your going to be saying it twice. Doesn't seem quite ready for primetime.
  5. Its definately laggy. I was super disappointed actually. I thought this was going to be the second coming, but it definately needs more simmering. The business manager and I played with a new Edge on Thursday. I threw my flash drive in and he started saying voice commands which locked sync up. (Wasn't done indexing) I had to remove and install the fuse for sync to work again. (trust me, after trying and trying this is what we had to resort to. I guess I'll be doing this for customers on the service drive for the next year or so.) Some commands on the touch screen take about five to ten seconds, others are almost instant. When entertainment is up on the instrument cluster it appeared that all you could do was change the input: no volume or track control on the steering wheel. Maybe I need a tutorial, but normally I can figure this stuff out myself without help. This stuff should be intuitive and it is definately not. If I owned one I would probably be able to figure it all out and fall in love, but first impressions ... disappointing. I told the manager he better get his sales staff super-familiar, otherwise they'll look like idiots.
  6. Particulate filters (DPF'S) are still expensive and could be considered "after treatment." I think they mean they won't use exhaust fluid. I would be surprised if a 4 cylinder diesel would need uria to get nox down to the standard. I would think a cooled egr would be enough. I'm not an engineer though.
  7. Heated exhaust gas oxygen sensor. "Heated" because they have a heating element to make them work right away rather then letting the exhaust heat them up. Nowadays we call 'em O2's.
  8. Homosexual behavior is a sin as stated in the old and new testament. If you are openly sinning and unrepentant (and are a member of said church or are wanting to associate yourself with said church) it is the church's duty to call you out on it. Open and unrepentant sin should not be tolerated by a scripture based denomination. This applies to all sin. Adultery. Theft. Whathaveyou. If a church (the ELCA for example) wants to condone sinful behavior they are throwing away part of the bible. Where does it stop? "Oh, Jesus didn't perform those miracles. That is merely alagory." "Oh, Jesus wasn't really the son of God. He was just well liked by him and we should act like him." Now their seminaries are trying to explain the resurrection away. This throws out everything scripture is about. Its a slippery slope. Confessional christians aren't the hypocrites. The liberal ones are. (We're all hypocrites. Who am I kidding?)
  9. St. Paul spoke against homosexuality and he wrote over half of the new testament.
  10. Also add to that the F-53 motorhome chassis. I'm assuming here. It has served quite well in the motorhome biz. Why spend the money fitting the 6.2 in there when gas engine motorhome customers don't care about mileage. They care about quiet.
  11. He said MEDIUM DUTY. Medium duty = F650 & F750. Ford will still produce the 6.8L for installation in E-series and F-650/750. It is not gone forever.
  12. I should probably clarify myself. When I said "failure", I didn't necessarily mean broken. I have seen one interior door handle "broken" where the lever was literally broken in half. Every other time the lever has bent a little and the chrome starts deforming and bubbling. They still are fully functional but, left alone, will probably break like the one that I have seen.
  13. Our parts department stocks the door handles which means they are prone to failure. It has to be a pretty large blip on the radar for them to stock anything. (They don't have much space). I've probably replaced a half dozen or so. The odd thing is if you need to replace one, there are others that need to be replaced on the same car. I have yet to replace any on '07+ Fusions but that doesn't mean another tech hasn't. I think the plastic engineering wasn't there at the time and they have since remedied this. As far as your latch concern .... that's news to me. Look at it this way though. Would you rather the latch fail in the way that yours did, or have the opposite where it comes unlatched intermittantly or never latches completely?
  14. Then people complain about the guage fluctuating. With an idiot guage its easier for joe consumer to know for a fact that there's a problem. Contour had a real coolant temp guage. People would bring it in if it got to the "a" in "normal".
  15. The 4.6 too. Windsor 4.6 had an 8 bolt flywheel. Romeo had 6 bolts. Valve covers were different too.
  16. I didn't mean every commercial, and you can't deny that they haven't. I was trying to say that it doesn't show "insecurity and weakness."
  17. Then I quess Ford should stop mentioning GM and Chrysler in their F-series commercials.
  18. Something with a longer hood like the new Nissan cargo van I hope. Then they can fit a proper Powerstroke in there again.
  19. I think Ford is trying to get out of the leasing business altogether. The residuals Ford is projecting are just terrible, even though I've read everywhere residuals are better than ever. Example: I was looking at leasing a 2010 Taurus SEL FWD with all the toys except nav. To own it cost $2500 up front and $560 a month. To lease it cost $550 up front and $550 a month. This is with d-plan and attractive financing. Why would you lease? After three years (the typical lease term) I probably would have had equity for a trade in if I had decided to buy instead. I ended up purchasing a Fusion Sport and am very pleased.
  20. The reviewer didn't mention the interior's awkwardness once?!! Why would you leave something so horrible out of a review?!! I guess, since its Honda, they couldn't say how everything about the car is awful.
  21. I got the Ford all weather mats for $65. The digital fits are $170 plus shipping. EEK!
  22. How about an '07 F350 6.0 with 500,000 miles!!! Guy comes in every week for oil changes. Delivers campers all over the midwest. He's replaced two sets of injectors, did the oil and egr coolers last month, and ORIGINAL HEAD GASKETS!!! He was looking at the '11 yesterday waiting for his oil change. I felt betrayed. I thought he was going to reach 1 million. There's still hope, he didn't leave with one.
