  1. This is a "front wheel drive wheel stand"!!!
  2. Wouldn't be intersted unless it's probably Mustang based. A front wheel drive based T-Bird in my opinion would just be another loser. Don't get me wrong...the Taurus is a wonderful car but as a T-Bird??? Not in my future! Bring back something that resembles the 57 Bird with a Paxton!!
  3. I'm pissed!! Last year I thought I did the right thing by buying a fully loaded Milan Premier thinking that Ford could use the help with the Mercury division. I could have just as easilly bought a Fusion and have gotten a near identical twin but to me the Milan looked better. Now what will happen to the value of my car after production ceases??? Will it drop like a lead balloon or will it stay on track like a similar Fusion. Man!! I've bought nothing but brand new Ford products since 1967 and now this. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree but I will make noise with this. That's 18 NEW Ford products I've bought in my lifetime and this happens. Have I told you I'M PISSED??? Brian
  4. I can vouch for the quality of my Mercury Milan. ZERO DEFECTS after 1 1/2 years of ownership in New England. We enjoy it everytime we get into this car! Good Work, Ford Motor Co.!!
  5. HMMM!! Bill Clinton musta started the Tea Party, then???
  6. Thanx for any Milan votes...still the best car I've ever owned. Brian
  7. THANX for the quick reply...and as a matter of fact, my 06 Five H went in for the same problem with the bubbling on the lid. I didn't see the repairs done but it was completed in about 15 mins if I recall. Should be the same process for the Milan. I just didn't remember that. The lid and hinges seem to be in one piece so it would be the same process, I presume. THANX again, Brian
  8. We purchased a beautiful 09 Milan Premier last year which we really love and admire the quality. We now have 7500 mi. and a couple of weeks ago, my wife was rummaging through the bin on top of the dash for something or other and when she closed the lid she felt a pop and the right hand hinge seems to have broken. I returned it to the dealer today and a new lid was ordered. Question is...does the dashboard have to be completely dissassembled to replace the lid or is this a fairly simple replacement? I've owned a car back in the 80's where the whole dash assembly was removed to replace the heater core (under warranty) and after the repairs, the car had nothing but rattles and problems relating to this repair. I'm probably just overeacting but I sure don't want to experience this again. THANX for any insight that you can give. Brian
  9. Well, in any case, keep up the good work. I'm always amazed at what you've brought us in the past. This is one of my fovorite topics in this forum. The arguing and bickering...I always click to something else, but something constructive like this topic keeps me interested. THANX again...Brian
  10. This thing is awesome! Did you consider showing it at different angles? Great work!
  11. THANX to the 7 Series BMW owner who parked next to me at the Bagel shop this AM and commented "nice BMW" without realizing I'm driving a new Tuxedo Black Mercury Milan Premium. He looked shocked when he looked at the grill. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Brian
  12. And don't forget.....UPHILL BOTH WAYS!! Sorry, didn't realize someone already beat me to it!!
  13. THANX for the response!! I think we found our "DUH" moment. There sure is a keyhole in the door and my only explanation to her problem was hitting the "Lock" button subconciently. I sure could not reinact this. Talk about blushing on her part!! She loves her Milan even more now!! Brian
  14. We are the very happy owners of an 09 Milan Premier edition and today, a very peculiar thing happened to my wife when using the fob to unlock the car. She pulled into the driveway with the rear windows down, locked the doors from the pad inside the door and when she tried to unlock the doors from outside the car, nothing happened. Is it possible that the unlock feature on the fob does not work if any windows are opened? Luckily the rear windows were opened enough so that she could reach in and unlock the rear door. BTW, the keypad feature on the driver's door did not unlock the car. After she was able to gain entry, she closed the windows, stepped outside, locked the doors again and everything worked perfectly after that. Is there some kind of setting that I can do to the system to override so she doesn't get stranded down the road with a window just bearly opened. This is the 1st and only question I have about this car since our purchase in early spring. THANX for any help that you all can give and I presume that this may just be a "DUH" answer for me. Brian
  15. And this, my friends , is what scares me the most!!
  16. Glad I could help! Love my new Milan!! Brian
  17. 1963 VW Beetle!! Should I say more? All of about 40 HP (I think my weed wacker generates more power), exhaust manifold heater (in No. Maine..LOL) would probably hit 60 mph if I waited long enough. Now I know why my folks wouldn't let me buy a Mustang as my first car. I traded it in on a 69 Torino 428 CJ Fastback.....now we were talkin!!! Brian
  18. My 06 500 was a CVT AWD. My Milan is 6 spd AWD. I loved the seamless gear ratios of the CVT as the 500 was a little on the lower powered side and the CVT always kept it at the right ratio no matter the speed. I never complained about not enough power. Now my Milan is also a 3 liter with a bit more power and the 6 spd tranny also is a nice peice. It is about as quick as my brother's 08 Taurus with the 3.5 and a 6 spd. I do understand that a 500 lb savings in weight will make a bit of difference in the performance side. I wish Ford would have kept the CVT but the bean counters decided to switch to the 6 spd which I am very happy with so far. We'll see if it is as good in these New England winters as the CVT was. As far as build quality goes, what can I say?? It's been perfect so far. My friend has a new Malibu (which is also a pretty nice car) that has been in for suspension and electrical defects n the first 3 months of ownership. Brian
  19. I just turned in an 06 Five Hundred LTD AWD w/ 38K miles that I had on lease and by far that was the BEST car I'd ever owned. Never went in for ANY defect of any kind!! Not wanting to lease any more, I decided to purchase a fully loaded Milan Premier AWD. Because of the unbeatable incentives and rebates, I just couldn't say no to that deal. I just turned 3,000 miles and again, I'm extremely impressed with Ford build and quality. Keep it up, Ford and its employees, because there will be many more Ford products in my future. I've had them all and now, I'll reserve my bragging rights for Ford. Brian
  20. Yesterday, I walked into a local ML dealer, walked out with the intent to purchase a new Milan and I never signed a peice of paper yet except for the credit app. They will have the car I want transferred from another dealer and never was there any mention of putting any money down. I trust him, and he trusts me. Barring nothing changes with our agreement, He'll make his sale and my wife will be driving a new car. You gotta love a small town dealer. Brian
  21. I'll be testing an 09 Taurus w/ AWD this weekend. I should get a pretty good idea of how the 2010 should feel. THANX guys for the responses. It is a definate that I'll be trading for a 2010. Brian
  22. I just hope the 6 spd is as seamless as the CVT. It seems to keep that little 3.0 in the right powerband. Brian
  23. I am getting ready to trade my 06 Five Hundred LTD, AWD (BTY the best car I've ever owned). This was my 1st experience ever with a CVT tranny and living in the southern edge of the snowbelt like I do, I couldn't be more impressed with the performance and reliability of this unit. I'm waiting for the launch of the 2010 Taurus and the Fusion and will make up my mind then which way to go but why did Ford drop the CVT?? We have a few of these units amongst family and friends and they are all in agreement with me that it will be sorely missed. Any knowledge on why it was dropped? I heard it was because it couldn't take the greater torque of the 3.5 but if I'm not mistaken, Nissan uses it with their V6s. THANX for any input. Brian
