  1. They have new videos of two of them at the Ring on mustang6g.com and one sounds like a flat crank to me. The other sounds like a Coyote with Flowmasters.
  2. Yep, it should start with a 5 to 10 mile cold engine trip to Home Depot, wait 30 min. then drive home. Do that three or four more times with varying cool down times. The next day drive 30 miles city/highway combined with speeds up to 75mph, wait 8.5 hours then drive the same 30 miles home, this time in stop and go traffic. Do that for 5 days, then use that number for City MPG number. After that drive with two people and a large dog, and bags for a weekend and drive 400 miles from San Jose to Los Angeles via Interstate 5. Your cruising speed between 70 and 80mph, with outside temps. of 95 to 105+. Make one or two stops for food, bathroom and or gas along the way. The next day, drive back, that is your Highway MPG. The whole thing would take a week, and they could run it a couple times and use the best numbers, as the temperature, winds and other forces change a bit. If you want, you could lump in a trip to Tahoe with four people and luggage. Do it in January to throw in some cold weather driving, and throw in a loop around the lake. It's not Great Lakes cold, but it is at 6200ft.+ altitude below freezing, and you'll probably have to drive at least a few miles with chains going over the summit. Welcome to my real world. PS, I'll be doing this myself for my new Edge 2.0L EcoBoost. So far total MPG: 20.9 with a best tank of 24.9 on a trip from L.A. to S.J. on Hwy 101.
  3. Here are some bigger pics and maybe a few extras at mustang6g.com: GT350
  4. Just wondering what the Police Intercepter numbers look like verses say 2011 Panther sales. June 2014 Sales PI Sedan: 1097, PI Utility: 1645 We're starting seeing lots of new CHP Exploder/Utilities out here finally. CHP was out thick on Sunday, saw ten in 350 miles on Hwy 101 from LA to SJ, and half were PIUs, including one All White "stealth" unit.
  5. Just bought a 2.0EB Edge Friday night. I couldn't wait 8 months for the twin scroll 2 or 2.7EB. I imagine the new 2.0 should be good for 5 or 10 HP and some more torque too. On a different note, are they finally going to offer a true dual exhaust on the F150 Coyote???
  6. Just bought a 2.0L EB Edge SEL on Friday, and love it so far. If it works as advertised, it will make buying an EB Mustang next year a lot easier, depending on the power output. Why are we still waiting for the announcement of the horsepower/torque output of the 2.3EB and updated 5.0L, as well as curb weights and mileage figures. I know the weights have been "leaked" in a dealer guide, but until it's in the specs. on the website, we don't know for sure.
  7. Just bought an Edge and love it so far. What about the Mustang engine Horsepower numbers? They still haven't officially released curb weight, horsepower/torque and mileage numbers on the 2015 Mustang. They did include the approximate weights in a dealer order guide, but none of the others, and nobody is sure about the weights.
  8. I've heard rumors of a 5.2L Flat Plane Crank engine called Voodoo, based on the Coyote and revving into 7 grand territory.
  9. The bankrupted Government Motors and Fiat/Mopar have almost nothing to be arrogant about. Ford has made some major ground since the low point of the Exploder roll-over, Firestone issues. To me the quality of Ford products and materials are up to or better than their segment competitors, even Japanese biased Consumer Reports and parts of the Automotive press agree, save for the total attack mode on My Ford Touch.
  10. Nope, it came with the wife when I married her. We are about to replace it with an Edge next month.
  11. I know lots of people that have gone over to the dark side since they discontinued the Ranger, rather than buying an F150. I think there is way less crossover between midsize and full size pickups, and Ford is totally missing out. That and we are missing the ability to buy an awesome midsize truck. It would be interesting to do some polling to see how many former Ranger owners have bought competitor's midsize vs. moving up to an F-series. I think Ford has lost way more customers than they added to F-series sales.
  12. It's funny, my first impressions of Toyota, Honda, Datsun/Nissan was small, cheap and flimsy. It wasn't "feel" with horrible ergonomics for larger people, hollow sounding, thin, easily deformed body panels, with noisy, rough driving characteristics, and some of the ugliest designs made, that made them successful. They initially relied on being cheap to buy and easy on gas during the 70s oil embargo to sell cars, not on "feel", because they felt like crap! I know they changed sometime in the 80s or so, but my impression of them still hasn't. My wife's 2007 Toyota Matrix and a friend's 2012 Prius only confirm my impressions. Yes, the engine runs trouble free, but it's cramped, noisy, and full of cheap plastics and weird design quirks.
  13. Back to the MUSTANG: The only problem with that theory is that the V6 is only being offered in Base Trim, No Premium. So, if you want leather seats, fancy electronics, the performance pack and others you have to get a GT or EB. The V6 will be mostly rental fleet and bottom dollar buyers. The '15 Premium EB is not that much more than the current V6 Premium and the "rated" mileage should be higher. I think Ford is hoping the EB will be the top retail seller, if not in 2014/15 then real soon, and then the V6 will disappear. By then the retail companies will see that the EB is just as reliable for their businesses to operate.
  14. Pretty sure I heard the F150's 3.7L NA is getting replaced by the new 2.7L EB
  15. It was up, sort of, for a while, back on the 18th and 19th. Someone that posts on mustang6g.com "hacked" on to it, starting from the 2014 page and changing the address to 2015. It seems the techie guys were tweaking it and had it on the same server as the old model with an identical address except for the 5 instead of 4. Somehow, probably through traffic monitoring, or the guy letting everyone on 6g know, they found out and changed servers or addresses or whatever. They have some cool screen shots from when it was working up on a thread there still. It didn't have the pricing, and some of the stuff didn't jive with the since released order guide. 30 more days of '14 production then retool, hopefully the "build and Price" will be up soon, it's so fun to play with.
  16. Mr. Allison is a NASCAR and road racing guy. NHRA Pro Stock is about as relevant to street cars as NASCAR is now. They both run engines you can't buy in any Ford car from the dealer, and the Fusion isn't even available in a V8 The NASCAR V8 they race with that has never been a production engine. NHRA Pro Stock runs a 500 cubic inch pushrod engine, designed from a clean sheet of paper a couple years ago and of course was never a production car piece either. At least you can get a V8 in a Mustang still! I have no use for NASCAR anymore, but would like to see a few bucks go to Pro Stockers. I am glad for Ford's involvement in the TUTOR United Sportscar Championship and look forward to seeing the new Mustang competing in Grand Sport and the GT fields again finally.
  17. The 2014s seem to be selling pretty well the last few months.
  18. You can't drive while "gaming" or "texting" anymore…legally anyway, that and I think my nephews would rather play race/drive on their ipod than drive a real car. I think I heard that texting while driving was one of the biggest causes of death for young people nowadays, so maybe it's a good thing?
  19. There can't be much bad with working with Cosworth again. I was sad that Ford sold them back in 2004 when the got out of F1. Selling the Jaguar F1team was probably a good idea, but they should have kept Cosworth.
  20. Better than nothing, as far as drag racing goes, and great for the CJ guys. I would still like to see even a little help given to Jim Cunningham and Larry Morgan in NHRA Pro Stock. They made the switch to Ford Mustangs with the promise of support, which has been completely cut off since Brian Wolfe left as Director of Ford North America Motorsports and Jamie Allison took over.
  21. Pretty cool, saw that a couple weeks ago on mustang6g.com.
  22. Big debate on one of the SVO fourms, and a guy who road races his GT 500 says the brakes are fine. All he did was he changed the fluid and runs them with zero fade running many laps at a time on Laguna Seca, etc.
  23. Anyone have an idea of the time table for the 50th Anniversary Mustang launch? I know something is going to happen on April 17, 2014, but will that be the unveiling, the start of sales (launch) or what? If it is the first public viewing, that would mean a 3 or 4 months until they're in showrooms, right? If it's the launch date, when will we see prototypes and preproduction cars, at the Los Angeles, New York or Detroit Auto Shows??? And what about order forms, you can't have them till people get to see the darn thing, right? I would love to know the time table of this most excellent adventure, because they can't get cars to dealers without spies seeing them first.
