  1. OAC needs a good product to replace the outgoing models of Nautilus and Edge. Ford should either A.) move/add C2 production, or B.) redesign Edge / Nautilus on CD6 and intro them there.
  2. A station wagon with a manual transmission...hmmmmm....
  3. You may want to re-read the article. It talks of the UAW strengthening ties with Mexican unions and to help them unionize more work sites.
  4. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2024/02/23/uaw-solidarity-u-s-mexico-autoworkers/72715683007/
  5. In the case of catalytic converters...EPA required them, not CARB (but not to be undone, CARB did up the ante which now gives us CARB compliant cat-cons) and when they were introduced, it was the same doom and gloom about the future of the automobile industry as it is now. Either way...we are all breathing a big clean sigh of relief.
  6. CARB has always been "forcing" the issue, but at the end of the day, market forces rule.
  7. The only metric on EV adoption is on the capitalist system...mandates never work
  8. Until POTUS 45 made it a campaign issue .... https://www.forbes.com/sites/doliaestevez/2016/10/03/debunking-trump-we-have-moved-jobs-to-ohio-from-mexico-not-the-other-way-ford-says/?sh=1a1081e86d10
  9. Not difficult at all....all the company needs to do is follow their own agreement and it is done. I am a union rep where I work and have seen multiple employees terminated for violations. All the employer did was follow what is agreed to and it is done. The bigger issue is that usually, while the union hires and actively employs good attorneys, the employer finds the cheapest legal representation they can get their hands on and it shows.
  10. Still another useless post only to bash unions. How do American built cars fare in foreign markets? Terrible as the Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Euopean markets tariff the hell out of our products. But sure...it's the Unions fault and every American auto worker should be happy making less and less so that they can sell cars cheaper and appease shareholders. There is a fine line and blaming unions is not part of that line.
  11. Everybody wants to earn more money and then they run over to Walmart to buy the cheapest Chinese crap they can get the hands on. I for one will not worry about the 900 dollars added to the cost of a new vehicle. The workers bust their ass for the company and deserve every penny they get. This is just another useless thread to bash the UAW and unions in general. It should be locked.
  12. Whats old is new again.....70's era concept van Ford Carousel.
  13. Excellent reply....however, OAC needs more than a boutique car to build...
  14. Instead of a C2 line at Oakville, move the entire CD6 production from Chicago Auto Production to OAC and and turn CAP into a parking lot. Then, make CD6 Edge/Nautilus replacements and build them next to Explorer/Aviator production.
  15. Was built on the 2002-2005 Retro Thunderbird chassis. Not one of Ford's shining moments but a nice retro ride.
  16. I don't know why Ford does or doesn't do a lot of things....sadly, Edge and Nautilus on CD4 got swept up in the EV craze. Imagine a Ford Edge, built at Oakville, on C2 and hybrid...it would sell exceedingly well.
