  1. I talked a guy into buying a 2014 Focus. Today he comes in late to work. His car is in the shop with only 4000 miles on it and the transmission light came on. He stopped the car and it wouldn't go into reverse. He drove it to a parking lot to check it and then all was fine with it. It is doing the shutter thing sometimes though. I thought they fixed this? Guess not. He's a little ticked off, I can't blame him. i think Ford has some real quality issues that must be fixed and quick.
  2. I heard that GM is going to stop building the LSx push rod engines too, and going with OHC V6 engines exclusively. It must be true I heard it on the internet. LOL
  3. I like TT just wish it was a V8. But I understand where Ford is coming from with the EcoBoost V6. The nice thing is if you need more power, just up the boost and add a little tune.
  4. Yes, but unfortunately recalls no matter how small still cost the company money. Also it cost customers time which is money out of their pockets. It is a good thing to catch them early, but it is the often that hurts the customer and the company.
  5. Do they need a new quality manager? I know you can't find every defect in a car (thousands of parts) but they sure can do a better job than this. They need better controls at the vendor level.
  6. don't you have a drivers license? I thought hand signals were perfectly legal in every state.

  8. 2015 Ford F-150 Named AutoGuide.com Truck of the Year
  9. Wow this thread went so far off track i forgot the original subject.
  10. Better MPG is still more money in the consumers pocket no matter what the price of gas is.
  11. It's all about choice. But sometimes you don't get to choose, and that's a shame. It all comes down to money.
  12. To many people talking on cell phones, eating and drinking while driving. You can't expect them to drive and shift too, do you? I enjoy driving my cars with a stick. I don't use my phone or eat while driving.
  13. So your saying all the cylinders are firing at the same time in FPC?
  14. I don't think those are production versions. Ford debuted this vehicle ahead of the LA Auto show and has yet to confirm the release date or pricing. I think I read Fall of 2015.
  15. I thought direct injection was below the valve? Doesn't the 1.0L use DI?
  16. Maybe not priority but on their radar for sure...... We have over 20 mins of Q&A with Jamal Hameedi which we have to clean up so it may take a bit. Here are some quick points, paraphrased: No dry sump No direct injection Extra engine displacement is all bore Everything from the A pillar forward is different from the GT. In the rear, the rear lower diffuser is different but rear quarter panels are the same. Benchmarked against 4 cars: 911 Carrera S (main benchmark), Ferrari California (since it is a front engine FPC), C7, and Z28. "It is its own beast." Do not want to equate it as a Boss replacement or GT500. How does it compare to the 302 or GT500 on the track? "Not really comparable. Way faster.. an order of magnitude faster" About same production numbers as the GT500 More to come...
  17. Hope Ford has something for the next gen Z built on the Alpha platform.
