Ford to Rethink Where It Builds Its Vehicles.

This is 100 percent true. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard the phrase “it works on paper” over the years when something is FUBAR on the line, I could probably retire comfortably today. IDGAF what your paper says when the real world says it doesn’t work. -

I will give the union credit where credit is due, they’re trying to set the market rate and in doing so actually making serous attempts to organize foreign plants down south. Whether or not the market can bear it, or the organization attempts are even successful remains to be seen. I am skeptical. -

my observation is Shawn Fain is incapable of that. -

The problem with that is there are real world factors that are working against the general population right now including inflation, wages that have largely remained stagnant for decades, and the disappearance of any kind of retirement plans from many workplaces. I’m fortunate enough to have a very good 401k plan (even before the improvements in the 2023 CBA) and while I wasn’t doing terribly at what I was making (until I started getting short shifted to death last summer) new hires were hurting making barely more than what a lot of fast food places are paying these days. What I’ve found in talking to a lot of people outside of the UAW bubble is a lot of older people (aka. the people in charge now) are either unaware at how much different things are or they just don’t care. They’ve made theirs and are close to a comfortable retirement and don’t really care to do anything to help those coming in behind them and people my age and younger are very frustrated by that. -

And the power hungry big head UAW president wants a nationwide general strike on 5/1/28. -

You've referenced that several times. I don’t expect that for at least another 6-8 years with how notorious Tesla is for launch delays. -
Ford Sales January 2024 - Up 4.3% Overall

Amazon is doing that. They just partnered with BP to build a hydrogen fueling station right around the corner from where I live. I’m not sure what exactly the trucks are for, a lot of the local delivery here is their ICE vans (mostly Transits and ProMasters) and the trucks they park there are the bigger box trucks. -
Not sure, I just came back to Body this week after being in Stamping for the last 4(ish) months.

High interest rates and inability to lease certain models doesn’t help. Literally yesterday I just bought out the lease on my Fusion and got a 6.4 percent from my CU and I feel incredibly lucky I got that. Even my sales rep was amazed. -

The current one is like that. I can almost guarantee without seeing it in person they did that on purpose so they could use the same bodyside panel. Pretty common with refreshes actually.
