  1. First, a question. Do you live in the Midwest, or an area where they use a lot of salt on the roads? That could explain why there's seemingly more rust than you might think for a 2 year old car. That doesn't look too unusual IMO, and could hardly be defined as "rusting out".
  2. Nah, don't show your whole hand right out of the gate. Save some of it for the production model showing. I would imagine that feature will eventually make its way across the whole Lincoln lineup anyway as the do their normal refresh cycles. If I'm not mistaken, the 2017 MKZ is getting it, I see no reason why Navigator won't as well.
  3. Not all Continentals get that, that's only for the highest end models I think. I haven't been able to figure that out yet.
  4. Asphalt is 100% reusable. All they do is mix the old stuff in when making new asphalt. There's probably an initial cost factor too.
  5. Yeah, I'm a hater because I'm not lazy Get real...
  6. No, of course not. That's a risk you take with all of those things. I don't believe I ever suggested people stop using public transit because of bed bugs. I'm not naive enough to think that's even possible, especially for people who live in inner cities who have no other options.
  7. And I suppose news outlets don't count? Seriously, a simple google search will yield a bunch of storied from various media outlets all over the country.
  8. Actually, it's Tesla's 4th. Don't forget about the roadster from circa 2006.
  9. False. I drive all over the state, granted less now than I did prior to working at ford. When I worked for the floor company I drove everywhere from Port Huron to Lansing Flint and Toledo. Occasionally as far as Indianapolis or Cleveland. I also travel up to my cousin's place 20mi west of Big Rapids several times a year. This fall I will also be making the trek up to Traverse City and possibly during shutdown up to Mackinac.
  10. Between that and the incompetent state government, this is a pretty miserable place to drive and live in anymore.
  11. That's pretty much it. There's a ton of videos on YouTube about replying various parts on the Focus so you can turn to that if you don't feel comfortable.
  12. I was marked late once when I was on C-crew because I slept through my alarm on a Sunday morning.
  13. Must be nice. I've been at 2 plants and never seen ANYONE fired for tardiness or AWOLs... Ever...
  14. Not on every thread though. Point taken
  15. Maybe Dean can finally get his regular cab work truck he ordered January 2015....
  16. I agree with a lot of what you're saying re: Tesla - The company, however on a thread regarding the car itself is probably not the place for that particular discussion. redacted. Point taken.
  17. They're probably well aware of the fact that for whatever reason, FRAP is notorious for shipping delays. That, and shipping nearly all the way across the continent via rail isn't always the fastest method.
  18. Michigan and Ohio are pretty similar. Coming north up I-75 and once you hit the Michigan border, its like you're instantly in Fallujah with as bad as the road turns. Its downright embarrassing. Without getting too political, but its one of the reasons why if it weren't for my wife and her family, I would seriously consider taking a transfer out of state.
  19. oh yeah, then there's this little gem http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/260817/detroit-pothole-fishing-hole/
  20. I don't expect it to be as good as other parts of the world, but dammit we can do way better that what is currently being done. I don't know if it happens in other areas, but for people needing to spray paint penises in potholes in order for them to be filled is absolutely absurd. EDIT: ok so the penises in potholes thing was in England (I swear I remember a local news station doing a story on it around me, but anyway...) people did however plant flowers in some potholes in Hamtramck http://www.wxyz.com/news/region/wayne-county/woman-uses-flowers-to-spruce-up-and-fill-potholes-in-hamtramck One neighborhood filled a couple of pickup trucks with asphalt they bought themselves and did it on their own. That's third world country stuff if you ask me....
  21. My theory is since we already have one all-new model going through launch in the Continental, they decided (since Continental is proving to be more complicated to build than they originally thought) that since Fusion is getting its MCE this year to only worry about retooling Mexico for now. We have been told that Fusion can come back at any time, and aside from some stamping dies they haven't taken the tooling out. Next-gen MKZ is tentatively moving to FRAP.
  22. Bullshit The UAW knows nothing about what's going on with future products that they will ever comment publicly on. They're more tight lipped about it than Ford is. Also, that "quote" from Ford about stopping the Wrangler is also bullshit. The only thing Ford will ever say is "we don't comment on future products"
  23. I think he means just design and performance/range stats.
  24. Re 911 influence: yeah I thought that too which is ok. Lincoln was clearly influenced by Bentley for the Continental, and Range Rover for the Navigator, but the Model 3 just doesn't do it. It looks like a matchbox car, and not in a good way There's still no excuse for showing an incomplete car. I refuse to let them off the hook for that one.
