Is that the Mexico or FRAP start up date? They've been different in years past.

The 2 sides to FRAP are all part of the same system. One side is Body and Stamping, the other is Final, with the paint shop being next to Final. There's only one line (contrary to what I was saying a while back.... oops) and the mustang and fusion both share the same line, as will Continental. The way I understand it is that the "new" part of the plant was built mostly for parts storage and handling. I haven't been here long (about 6 months) but the way I understand it is this is no different than the way it was done when Mazda was still here.

not at all. Who wants to be stuck in traffic with a manual? nobody. if more people drove manuals, i'm sure traffic would move a lot smoother. nobody wants to keep shifting because the dude in front of them keeps stopping. I realize i just made the argument for automatics with the last sentence.

What markets in Europe and the Middle East also sell Lincolns? Remember, Continental is the new brand flagship. I will be sold wherever Lincoln has a presence.

Doooooood It's not a matter of they won't do it, it's that right now, they can't possibly build enough. I understand you're frustrated but you have to realize, we are working so much overtime right now just to keep up with North American demand.

There's a growing capacity problem at FRAP, which is about to be made worse by the impending launch of the Continental. Fusion demand is down slightly, but that's misleading because the FRAP built Fusions are in high demand according to some of my dealer friends (perhaps Dean or ice-capades can share their experiences), and with the impending launch of the 2017 Fusion MCD, it's unlikely that we will have less Fusions in the build mix. Look at the sales numbers for November. Even though monthly sales are down, the amount of Mustangs sold in North America has been unreal, compounded by overwhelming demand overseas. Unless there's a third shift added soon, RHD markets are going to have to deal with such small allocations.

brand new they're fine. They start going haywire after some miles get put on it. I've personally read about one that started having issues after only 5,000 miles. That is totally unacceptable for a car that's only (presumably) a few months old by that point.

The same thing has been happening with the fusion for 2 years. I hear radio ads all the time for leases on both the Focus and Fusion for the same monthly payment.

meh, like I've said here before, I learned with my 08 focus. Same transmission as the 12-present model. Damn near same engine too.

Kids are much easier to teach than adults though.
