  1. I wish I could find the article now. I read an interview with one Bob Lutz and he seems to believe that Tesla will be out of business by 2020, so there's that.
  2. I didn't see that article, thanks for that! I haven't seen any of those other rumors other than there being no new Taurus. I haven't seen anything on when the Fusion MCE or ST will be shown. Or the Escape MCE for that matter.
  3. Easy money is on Continental at LA. We start TT builds next month if the newsletter I read the other day is correct. Fusion ST, eh, that's probably for NYC or Goodwood or something like that. Fusion MCE at Detroit is a pretty safe bet. There will be no new Taurus, right akirby? Edit: we could also see the Escape MCE at either LA or Detroit too.
  4. Are there still rumors of b-shift going away sometime next year?
  5. thats why she got the new car, even though i need it more
  6. Might be a good option for detective vehicles too, where they need to get somewhere in a hurry.
  7. I don't agree with what he said, but I do believe he has the right to say it. That's what the veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice were fighting for.
  8. That SHO is also more expensive than that Escape. That might have something to do with it. or not, I could just be talking out of my ass
  9. UAW sets sunday night 11:59pm deadline http://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/general-motors/2015/10/24/uaw-sets-sunday-night-strike-deadline-gm/74473858/
  10. Whether we work or not, I took the whole week off anyway
  11. Obvious, yes. I wasn't sure if they could fit an AWD drivetrain under there after the revelation that a manual transmission won't fit in the tunnel of the charger hellcat.
  12. Sounds like there was a chip in the paint or something on the inside of the panel. Something not easily discovered until it's too late
  13. That kind of information isn't released to the public. There's nobody who posts here who works at oakville who could give some insight on the matter.
  14. Laid off. You know that no matter what replaces the Focus/C-Max there, I seriously doubt they will launch on 2 shifts. I have the lowest seniority in that plant now, and I really don't think in 3 years, I would be able to escape the second shift being cut.
  15. I know, I was on C-crew at MAP, and loved it.
  16. Of course I don't want to be laid off, who would? I would rather quit than have an "opportunity" to go back to my home plant, knowing full well in 2018, im right back in the same situation. And oh, by the way, I don't want to be forced into nights for the next 10 years of my life. I actually want to spend time with my wife, and start a family.
  17. I would rather quit than go back there. I don't want to be forced onto night shift for the next 10 years.
  18. And once again WE. CANT. TRANSFER. And don't tell me how much better off I would be by moving out of state when they open transfers to MAP entry level who are on layoff. That's a joke and quite frankly, insulting. You don't know me or my situation, so stop acting like the smartest person in the room.
  19. You sound like a union rep. Your little "fight the good fight" speeches won't work on me. Once again, kindly fuck off.
  20. This was a triple post, but on second thought I have more to add This contract will weigh heavily on what I do next. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one either. And both the union and Ford better hope I don't somehow wind up with a reporter in my face during this contract stuff, because neither will like my responses to their questions. I know this turned into a cry-fest for me. Oh well. I've been wanting to get a lot of this off my chest for a while.
  21. Yeah, I'm going to uproot my entire life, everything I've ever known, my entire family for a job and I'm not even going to be compensated for moving? Not to mention finding a place to live on short notice, coming up with a deposit, because face it, no matter what there's going to be some kind of down payment on any kind of housing. Then there's my wife to consider. I don't want to leave my family, who I'm admittedly not super close to, and she's really close to her family. Am I really going to make her go through that? Dream on. I'd rather stick out this temporary assignment and have options open where my future is in my own hands rather than a company who is blatantly trying to take advantage of me (see: situation I'm in now; the whole FRAP overtime issue) and the UAW organization, where I've been told I don't matter, and if there's a measurement of how little I trust them, I dare you to find it. Even if I do get a call back, or this temporary assignment becomes permanent, I still might tell everyone to fuck off and go a different route with my life. Get off your high horse and quit talking down to everyone. It's people like you that make people hate auto workers, or make people think we are all a bunch if sniveling crybabies. Sure, those types of slugs are out there, but they are for sure in the minority. Seriously, kindly fuck off.
