  1. Lincoln definitely lacks cachet despite having very competitive SUVs. Detroit likes doing the "bottom-up" strategy with their luxury brands because they're too cheap and risk averse to build proper flagship/image vehicles.
  2. That car was for Lincoln's traditional clientele though. It was no different than the Continentals from the 1990s. Cadillac's sport sedans never brought anything meaningful to the table except performance figures analogous to the Germans. Their interiors are nothing to write home about. I think Lincoln could do a much better job.
  3. It would be nice if they dusted off the plans for those CD6 sedans. Turn Flat Rock into the new Wixom. That Mustang-based Lincoln looks sweet btw.
  4. The Expedition Platinum already starts at $80k. A trim above that is still going to look and feel like a Ford. You're simply not going to get the exclusivity, refinement, and high-end design of a luxury brand.
  5. The surfacing language of that concept is very reminiscent of the 1961-1965 Continentals. It will be interesting to see how that translates into production.
  6. Lincoln has definitely made significant progress, so I hope Ford doesn't throw in the towel.
  7. Ford Authority is saying North America isn't getting the Nautilus after all. https://fordauthority.com/2023/01/next-gen-lincoln-nautilus-will-likely-remain-in-china/
  8. Some dealers are definitely skeptical of Ford's commitment to Lincoln. They were promised a full line-up initially.
  9. No way all of those are standalone. I wouldn't be surprised if the ones opting out are mostly Ford-Lincoln stores.

  11. I love cars but not enough to have perpetual payments on one.
  12. You've got to be kidding me. That was an incredibly half-hearted attempt.
  13. Lexus offers an executive seating arrangement for the LX at around $125k. Ford simply does not want to take any risks with Lincoln. And it's a shame because they have the talent to pull it off.
  14. I've seen plenty of new Lincolns in the New Orleans area since the new showroom opened. Judging by their social media page, they seem to be attracting younger, more affluent clientele. I'm not sure what else Lincoln could build in a such SUV dominant marketplace. Perhaps another go at a luxury truck?
  15. Those cars are a tiny sliver of Cadillac's past. No way are they going to convince the ultra-rich to pay Bentley money from a brand that's been building mass-produced premium cars for most of its existence.
  16. I loved seeing these Marks back when I was kid. They were so unusual. Very fluid and organic like the original 1940 Continental.

  18. It's nearly impossible to build a solid case for that type of car in today's market. Even Mercedes-Benz ended up discontinuing their famed S-Class Coupe.
  19. How exciting. Another run-of-the-mill futuristic design study with [insert brand name] badges.
  20. It looks pretty svelte for a truck. I'm still not a fan of Chevy's overwrought styling, though.
