  1. Forgot to mention, the drive mode selector is in a weird place. It’s in the spot where the headlight knob normally is. Headlight controls have been moved to the touchscreen.
  2. after watching the tfl video, here are my thoughts. The dash doesn’t look as bad in the video as it did in the leaked pics. It’s still not great but it’s not as bad as I feared. With a normal sized person in the driver seat, the dash screen didn’t look too far away as I initially thought. The full dash width screen would make this interior look much better though. I don’t like the steering wheel controls. The video showed the button layout appearing on the screen. Just give me physical buttons on the steering wheel. I like the ambient lighting. I think it’s one of the best looking set ups on a ford. Seats look great. I like the movable center console, but does it really need its own motor to move it? It would be cheaper, faster, and easier to use with a manual version. When it’s pushed fully back, it blocks the middle seat in the second row. But it would seem like the cup holders would be too far away for second row passengers if it was moved fully forward. The lights on the back of the roof rack are cool. I like the split tailgate, but I still question the use of black. I have a feeling that will get changed during the mid cycle refresh. I wish the tremor didn’t use so much yellow on the front. A simple yellow outline around the vents would have looked better. I also think these stealth package wheels are pretty cool.
  3. So the real problem here is ford can’t make money on boring cars. So what does ford do? They avoid the problem by building more expensive vehicles that they can make money on. If ford would focus on ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality, then they could make a profit on boring cars, and make even more on their exciting cars. Another problem is “boring” is subjective. I think the ranger (minus raptor) is pretty boring compared to the competition, but some of you might disagree. You run a real risk of alienating customers if your version of boring doesn’t match up with someone else’s. with that said, I’m all for exciting vehicles. I dont even care about the engine, just give me a good looking vehicle. Although I hate the name, ford needs to expand the st line idea. Using the ranger again as an example, how much better do you think the ranger would sell if every trim looked like the raptor? The looks of a raptor with the guts of an xlt would be a big seller imo. Packages like the fx2, or Toyotas pre runner are good examples.
  4. The initial article was posted on motor1 yesterday, where they mentioned they were reaching out to ford to see if it was coming to the USA. “There’s no word yet about launching the Ranger PHEV in the United States. We’re reaching out to Ford to find out whether it’s coming to North America.” Then today, they got a response from ford and they updated the article to include the quote I mentioned earlier and this: “[UPDATE] In an e-mail to Motor1, Ford Truck Communications Manager Dawn McKenzie told us the Ranger PHEV is not coming to the US:”
  5. Motor1 had a similar story and ford responded stating https://www.motor1.com/news/733856/2025-ford-ranger-phev-details/ Now who knows if that means we won’t see it in the future or not.
  6. That’s pretty impressive. Wonder what the GT would be like with that much power
  7. What are the chances of getting ford Australia parts here in the USA? Anyone know how to get a part number for these everest/ranger tremor wheels?
  8. Left lane news, man I had forgotten about that website. That along with autoblog were my go to websites back in the day. I still liked autoblog, but they seemed to be a step behind all the other websites.
  9. Gen z are currently 12 to 27 years old. These are high school and college kids. There isn’t a new vehicle that will come even close to their price range, which is probably sub $15k. I’d guess a good portion of them are still driving their first vehicle. I don’t think gen z prefers sedans, they just get what they can afford. With that said, I still don’t think an affordable sedan is a bad idea if it can be profitable.
  10. IMO a vehicles powertrain (ICE, EV) doesn’t dictate the need or want for accessories, but the type of vehicle does. A truck will have truck accessories, an off-road vehicle will get off road accessories, and boring daily driver EVs will get no accessories just like a Camry or CRV.
  11. https://www.motor1.com/reviews/732879/2025-volvo-ex90-first-drive-review/ this could quite possibly be the most generic vehicle I have ever seen.
  12. I think f150 and ranger customers are completely different. IMO, it would take a whole lot more than a couple of inches here and there to get someone to drop down from a f150 to a ranger. I remember when the ranger came out that there were fears it would take away sales from the f150 too, but that never really happened either.
  13. So that puts MAP at around 200k vehicles a year. Is that low for a factory? Sometimes it’s hard to wrap your head around these numbers when you are used to seeing some of ford’s more popular vehicles selling 250k+ a year in the past. Now 150k seems to be the near the top end of production for anything not named f150. I get that profits are up per vehicle so ford is fine with the lower quantity, just takes some getting used to.
  14. Seems like having your EVs use the same motors would be common sense. Wonder why ford didn’t do this in the first place? Did thet rush the Mach E out and not have time to finish development on the lightning motor so they had to go with an outside supplier?
  15. The one thing that sucks about midsize or compact trucks is the rear legroom. What if ford decided to give the ranger a bigger cab and a shorter bed? The bigger cab would set it apart from both the maverick and other midsizers. Four adults could sit comfortably with an extra 6 inches or a foot in the cab. I know a lot of you guys here like long beds, but beds have been getting shorter and shorter for years. The maverick shows us that customers are ok with a 4 ft bed. And they could always offer a 5-5.5ft bed as the longbed option if they wanted. The first thing I always notice when getting into an f150 is all the space it has inside. What if people thought the same way about the ranger?
  16. Ranger numbers not looking too good. Are there still supply issues with it? I think my local dealer has several on the lot.
  17. Here are some quick AI generated Lincoln broncos I did for a similar post on 6g. I’d love to see it, but don’t think it would happen.
  18. There’s also a thing called the radio that already plays ads too. How many ads can one person handle in a car?
  19. I think the only thing that I would be remotely ok with would be if they replaced the vehicles start up animation with a short 5-10 sec commercial, but even with that, I’d want a good amount off of the purchase price.
  20. https://www.motor1.com/news/732375/2025-nissan-armada-debut-specs-horsepower-details/ Pro-4x and platnium reserve trims pictured above.

  22. I’d be interested in seeing the bronco sports sales by trim. I see bronco sports all the time, several a day. What do they all have in common? They are all big bends. I’ve seen exactly one outer banks and no badlands. Will a fwd bronco sport dilute it? Hell no 😆. No one is using this for an off road adventure vehicle. It’s just a daily driver that looks cool. There’s also a precedent. The Bronco II didn’t come standard with 4wd for a good portion of its life.
  23. That is a nice color interior. How do you like the new infotainment system?
  24. I’ve been a fan of Toyotas crown sport concept. I’d like to see something like it
