  1. All this negative publicity will certainly have some bad effect on potential buyers.
  2. I'd rather Ford slow down, work out all the problems, and then deliver flawless vehicles to customers, than to rush the process and deliver the SUVs with a lot of problems. That will really hurt Ford in the long run.
  3. Looks like pretty bad situation. Quality is key and could really kill the Aviator. After all, it is a luxury vehicle and people expect high quality.
  4. If performance gain is not that obvious, then efficiency should be the objective. Looks like the GT gains 3 mpg than the regular non-hybrid Aviator. Is that worth the money?

  6. The Grand Touring plug-in hybrid Aviator electrifies the gas engine, but the extra motors and batteries contribute to its 5,838-pound heft. Some of us felt that it didn't feel fast enough given its 494 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque. The lack of power shows up in the test results, too. The hybrid is only three-tenths quicker than the gas Aviator in the quarter mile. 5.1 seconds? I was expecting 4.8 seconds.
  7. The 5,167-pound vehicle scoots from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and completes the quarter mile in 14.1 seconds. That slays the Cadillac XT6, which needs 6.8 and 15.2 seconds, respectively, and also beats the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4Matic.   8. Just test drove a Reserve II and didn't feel a thing about Start/Stop.
  9. Stopped by my local Lincoln dealer yesterday and drove the Reserve II and asked about GT. The dealer said the GT will be available next February.

  15. I'm not saying cut the price by 50%. Lincoln is struggling now to get on its feet as a legitimate luxury band. How many potential buyers will even consider Lincoln as a valid luxury maker? Lincoln has great products now, all they need is to attract more customers. A better value, weather it is money, features, or service, sale! Costumers in this price range still do comparative shopping. A few thousand bucks may be all that is need to make a sale. Once the reputation is established again, Lincoln can ask any price they want.
  16. This is a good example that price matters. Even if you have great products, slightly lower price will attacked more buyers. Increase the sale volume and show room traffic is what Lincoln needs the most right now, and more volumes mean more profits.

  18. And that is why they should reduce the price to make the products more attractive and to increase the volume quickly, so that the stand alone dealers can survive. Do you want your 75K Lincoln to be serviced by a technician who is working on 35K Ford most of the day?
  19. I understand what you are saying, it makes sense. However, with a price point comparable to the Germans, people will be cross shopping and it will take longer to have the volume to sustain independent Lincoln dealers. In the end, it is unavoidable to associate Lincoln with Ford. It may be counter productive.
  20. In this transitional period, I think Lincoln should also lower their prices to meaningfully below the Germans, to establish a healthy volume first. They can then slowly increase the prices to compete with the Germans. Some reviewers already made the comments that because it is a Lincoln, it is not a good value, although it is a great SUV.
  21. This is the single most important reason people associates Lincoln to Ford. So Lincoln/Ford has nobody else to complain. The separation should have been done years ago.

  23. That is a pity. There is also a video sometimes ago showing a speaker cover falling off the ceiling.
  24. Does any one have photos to show the preserve I seats without the 30-way adjustment?
