  1. Difference being a fire is a legitimate threat. This is cold symptoms that people are losing their ever loving s**t over. Just read a local news story where "8 tests have come back negative but 8 more are being tested". OK cool why don't you just not report anything until something is confirmed? Again they need to stop with the hysteria.
  2. I'd say a more pressing issue is getting the GVWR of the Transit up to par with the E-Series so that we can finally be done with the E-Series but this should sell well if done correctly. The only work van worth buying is the Transit and this should solidify that position.
  3. Must be super duper fast with it's Ford GT inspired running lights.
  4. This is absolutely ridiculous. This virus is not nearly as bad as the media is (almost criminally) making it out to be. Ford foot traffic doesn’t dry up when the flu or the common cold comes around. People need to calm tf down. This is not a big deal. It’s cold symptoms. R-e-l-a-x. https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2020/02/28/i-have-coronavirus-so-far-it-isnt-that-bad/ “I also watch the news. It’s surreal to see everyone panic — news conferences, the stock market falling, school closures — about a disease I have. It does seem likely that coronavirus will spread in the United States, but it won’t help anybody if we all panic.”
  5. It’s no coincidence that the “fix” for the previous generation Explorers is the exact route Ford went with for the new ones. I agree that there is some tangible benefits with regards to soot but the main driver (Can’t forget the obvious “in my opinion”) is the CO issue. The European implementation is not nearly as complicated as Fords solution. The exhaust dumps behind the bumper out of sight where Ford has a rather complicated tip design.
  6. I’m not sure Ford knows why that was happening. But the fix was to install turn down tips on the pre 2020 models. The 2020 has the same thing. Turn down tips but they are encased in a fake, straight out the back exhaust tip that’s chrome. Kudos to the marketing team that came up with the “we did that to eliminate the soot build up” reason. That was very clever. Complete BS but a great way to market it.
  7. Were those upgrades in response to the poor choice of materials and craftsmanship of the 2020 or were they going to be implemented regardless? And we can agree to disagree on the ignoring part. They are STILL sending vehicles to the press that have numerous quality control issues. And I doubt NVH, a slow infotainment, and seat comfort is part of the 2021 upgrades but time will tell.
  8. Over 700 miles of range. Impressive. Although I'd give up 600 miles of that range just to have the temp indicator centered like it should be.
  9. I think the issues are very much still present. Ford addressed the issues that required the vehicles to be fixed immediately after being built (issues dealers could not fix) but the issues dealers can fix Ford just turfed to them. A sheriffs office in my area had nine of their new Explorer orders cancelled by Ford because they could not be fixed. The Explorers were destroyed. As good as the Kia and Hyundai interiors are, this is more about how bad the Explorer is to everything else. And I have a feeling Ford will do the same thing with the Explorer as they did the DPS6....be aware there is an issue but completely ignore it publicly. Buy hey, profit margin right?
  10. -What percentage of current generation Rams sold have the 12" screen? -What percentage of current generation of Rams sold have the smaller screens? -What percentage of all Rams sold in 2019 were the classic body style where the 12" screen isn't even offered? The assertion that Ram saw the massive increase in sales because of the 12" screen is laughable. Was it, potentially, a small factor? Yes. But the way it drives, the silky smooth ride, the interior that looks to easily remain best in class, the styling, etc all contributed to the positive public's response to that truck. Plus you had the classic which was priced very aggressively. I see far more "classics" than I ever thought I would. If anything Ford's sales of smaller screen F-Series proves people really don't care about screen size because here we are in 2020 and they have still a smaller screen than what Ram was offering in 2013.
  11. My co-worker could be the exception to the rule, but this is his daily. And in my experience most Wrangler owners buy them to take them off road in some capacity. Probably not as hard core as my co-worker but off road none the less. Fun fact...he paid for an extended warranty that covers any breakage he may encounter. All suspension components, any leaking from differentials, shocks, etc. Not sure what he paid for it or what his deductible is but that's a heck of a warranty.
  12. Show me the section in the Ford factory warranty documents where that is covered.
  13. I'd say most Wranglers are used off road in some fashion. I had the opportunity to go off-roading with a coworker back in August. He has a lightly modified Wrangler 4-door and I was absolutely floored at how well it did off road. In some cases, it did better than the 2-door.
  14. So awesome. I'm sure some snowflakes somewhere will be offended but they would sell the crap out of those...
  15. Well you said you had to swerve and then there was a crash (into a pothole I believe). Someone was negligent, I never said you were. But show me where damage caused by poor road maintenance is covered in the Ford factory warranty.
  16. True. Right now there is about $5,000 off the 2020 Escape Titanium (brings it down to $35K) at dealers by me.
  17. Show me the language in any of Ford factory warranty terms where they cover swerving and crashing. I've never heard of a factory warranty covering negligence like that.
  18. $45K? Bwhahahaha. After discounts I paid $46K for my V8 Grand Cherokee High Altitude (it's higher end and has tons of options). I couldn't fathom paying $45K for a tough Escape.
  19. Wow Based on your logic I should be able to crash my vehicle into a cement wall because "traffic swerved and it was impossible to miss" and the warranty should cover it. A warranty is a limited guarantee that your product will function as intended and is free of manufacturing defects. It's not a damage insurance policy.
  20. In that scenario I would expect the financial burden would fall on the vehicles owner.
  21. I guess I'm not understanding what you are saying. In your scenario wouldn't that be the end user's responsibility anyway? Holy cow. I know the quality was bad but not this bad. Couldn't pay me to own one...
  22. With what you paid you shouldn't have to use any of the 8 year warranty. STs ain't cheap. But I agree I would not want to put up with a noise like that whether its a Versa or a $60K+ Explorer
  23. All these issues and you're going to buy the same vehicle made in the same factory? Related, it's a shame Ford won't get the employees (or more likely management) in line at Chicago. These products are too important for this kind of utter nonsense.
