I simply find this to be an interesting possibly and shows that Ford is really into developing the F-150 going forward. Not sure about a sport truck market though.

I'd assume that it's a bit too early for that type of thing now, but assuming it's a pushrod, I'd hope it could fit.

I'd think that the Bronco could be a candidate for a V-8, either the Coyote or upcoming 6.8l. It's an enthusiast vehicle that can support a massive upcharge necessary for selling a V-8, its close competition has V-8 options (Wrangler and Defender), and this could support its own "family" that they appear to be going for.

That's a great analysis. From what I understand, the Maverick should go after a different audience, especially if some of the rumors on lower price prove to be true (and the SC's pricing). I like Ford's approach better because it still has the Ranger for more power and capability right above Maverick as well.

Interesting specs but I think Ford will come in with the Maverick and "win" in sales and capability.

I'm not sure that I'd want too many additional sub-brands from Ford. I think additions to the Bronco and Mustang sub-brands (like a Bronco truck, Bronco Max, and Mustang sedan) should and mostly will come.

Funnily enough, I saw two Excursions and was thinking the same thing. I'd imagine the market of people looking to buy one would be small, but loyal and profitable. I would not mind an Expedition body over a Super Duty frame of some kind, even if it was just an Expedition HD option or whatever. But I think that Ford could sell significantly more Expeditions and Navigators with more capacity like you said. Plus the Super Duty of course.

I do wonder if these moves would result in some extra capacity that could help make the business case for a renewed Excursion? While few would sell, I think it could be a profitable exercise if they are able to use different off-the-shelf parts from Super Duty and Expedition, if possible. Didn't GM charge something like 80K or 90K for a Suburban HD in 2019?

I think that is the most likely scenario at this point. The only thing I would add is maybe a Powerboost option as thrown in as well. Like the Car and Driver report a short time ago. As a side note, as the F-150 Raptor keeps getting more expensive, it makes more and more justification for the rumored 325 HP Ranger Raptor as a more affordable option.
