I don't disagree, however Ford is chasing stock value for all the reasons that stock values matter, and Ford thinks profits are the way to increase share value. If Ford stock grew like Tesla's did then you could just imagine the value to investors. Also, on a related but different note. Ford's shrinking global sales and abandoning certain segments really does portray their success. I bought a Ranger because I want domestic car makers to succeed and because I needed a vehicle now. If things had worked out even a bit differently I would have much rather went with the upcoming Canyon and its 2.7T.

Interesting. Ford is pursuing the "profit first" strategy and what do Ford stocks ($15/share) look like versus Tesla ($840/share) which wasn't profitable for a long time (it just logged its first profit of 1B in the 1st Q of 2021). Shareholders want confidence in a car brand, they don't care about the actual numbers. If you care about silly things like stock prices that is.

This is a thoughtful reply. It would probably cost more, but maybe not more than the Cherokee? A basic Maverick XLT AWD is 30.8k. At the end of the day, the name of the game is moving units. I did go ahead and order a Ranger STX but a Maverick would probably make a nicer daily commuter.

Ah, just like Trump killed the Focuses' competitors like the Corolla, Civic, Forte, Elantra, or Sentra? Oh wait.

Respectfully, if Jeep can offer a low ranger transfer case and locking rear diff on the Cherokee CUV, then the Maverick could benefit just as well. Any front-wheel-drive "truck" would benefit from a real, locking, mechanical 4wd system for tough conditions. So would it benefit from a low range for its 4,000 lb tow rating. It doesn't strain the mind to imagine situations where the Maverick as a truck would benefit from a transfer case.
-
Why? Low range really would only be used for maneuvering my little (2,500 lb) camper in tight situations on a grade. I don't want to burn my torque convertor or lug the engine in these situations. I guarantee you that you could easily damage the transmission in the Maverick backing 4,000lbs up a steep incline frequently or for a significant period of time.

Sorry, I just figured dealership employees like salespersons fell under the umbrella of Ford employees. I don't think it would be unusual for a salesperson to give out their contact details, especially their work details. Thanks for the help anyway.
-
You guys ought to advertise your dealer or contact details. I'd love to buy from someone who does this as a goodwill service, can't get my salesman to answer ?

Bronco is built on the Ranger platform with a IFS and the same is true for the 4Runner except it is on the Tacoma platform. Objectively the Bronco is less capable than the Wrangler thanks to its IFS and lack of a rear stabilizer bar disconnect. Also, the Wrangler is on a dedicated platform purpose built for off roading.

Considering buying some Ford Stock

Comparing to sedans the only really competitive vehicles are the Escape and Maverick? Kia will sell you a Rio that gets 41 mpg hwy for $12.7k (cars.com) and the closest thing Ford has is the Maverick hybrid at 20k without cruise control? -
Hi, first thank you very much for offering this service. Specifically, if you have details on the shipping like a train car number, that would be great! VIN: 1FTER4FH5MLD85902 Order Code: 4415 Ordered On 8/18/2021

I don't get the hype over Lexus LXes. I have been in one and it was like a bigger 4Runner. Nothing stood out about it whatsoever.
-
True, I guess in terms of capability, value and comfort. I considered a Maverick briefly, but was disappointed that it didn't offer a 2-range 4wd like the Cherokee or a LSD or Locking rear diff.
-
I use Alldata and really enjoy its manuals. Prices have gone up recently though.

I don't know why people don't talk more about Bronco versus 4Runner. That's the real competitor.

I have sent over 20 requests and never got a PCO. Any tips?

I have the six speaker option and I really think it is good for an affordable truck radio.

I haven't seen any MY 21 Ranger with these covered. -
Any experience with buying a Ranger now that the BBYFY $1k discount is no longer advertised? I was told it applies based on order date, not purchase date.
