  1. Yes but also because much of the traffic (visitors) and contributions were coming from Ford Motor Company employees. Ford ended up withdrawing their lawsuit as a result.
  2. Your experience is very unusual to say the least. Sometimes a vehicle might be delayed for an issue but that's almost always a temporary matter and resolved within a reasonable period of time. After all this time, even though your dealership is very small, I'm surprised that they didn't just reorder your vehicle long ago. Your dealership should be talking to upper management at the regional office about this issue, if they're not already. There's no reason after all this time for your vehicle to have been delayed so long without anyone being able to get answers.
  3. Fuzzy, as always, you are a great contributor and resource for the BOF members here! Ford should be paying you for all you do to help! Anyone here remember years ago when Ford tried to shut down this site?
  4. At least Lincoln woke up and is going back to traditional model names to help re-establish brand and model identity and recognition.
  5. I tried looking at Ford's Vehicle Visibility tracking site but it will only allow me to track or trace vehicles for my dealership. Perhaps someone else here that works for Ford with different access can take a look now that we have a VIN number (1FT8W3B60JEB51302) to work with.
  6. Here's the link to the page on the Ford.com website with the contact information. https://owner.ford.com/contact-us.html?gnav=header-owner The phone number is 1-800-392-3673 (Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 8:00pm ET)
  7. Vehicle was invoiced on 01/04/2018. 1FT8W3B60JEB51302_WS.pdf
  8. Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer), F-150 Police Responder & 2019 Police Responder Hybrid Sedan (Fusion)
  9. Just informed by our GM that the customer that ordered the 2019 Mustang Bullitt also just purchased the 2018 Shelby GT350 that's in production and due in a few weeks.
  10. That White Platinum w/Chalet theme is absolutely gorgeous!
  11. Certainly a possibility because our dealership turned down the initial 2019MY Mustang allocation offered because half of the inventory in stock is still 2017MY's! The late changeover to 2018MY production and then the short 2018MY production schedule really screwed things up in our market. If you wanted a Mustang with a specific options, would you order a 2018MY knowing that if you waited a few months you could get a 2019MY?
  12. If I read your message correctly... If the truck was actually released, shipped and was in transit, and then returned to the plant... that's not a shipping problem, especially with a vehicle that was built that long ago. I'll trust that your Dealer has been talking to their Ford Zone Manager who is trying to assist. The other person that your Dealer should be talking to is the Ford Regional Scheduler as they have access to people at the plant that can find out what the issue is. I'd suggest your opening a direct complaint with Ford which will get the issue even more attention. A vehicle that was produced, released, shipped and returned to the plant has some issue, minor or otherwise, that caused Ford to have the vehicle returned to the plant. It doesn't happen often but sometimes Ford finds an issue that was missed and they bring back vehicles during the suspected production time period. I had a Mustang GT produced for a retail customer a few years ago that didn't get released and shipped until about 6 weeks after it was produced. It was loaded onto a rail car and sent to the final rail ramp in RI. A few days later it was sent all the way back to the Flat Rock plant. A month or so later the car was re-released and shipped to the dealership. The customer got his car about 3 months after the original ETA. Ford wouldn't tell us anything at the time but I found out later that it was an issue with the engine coolant. Ford suspected but wasn't sure that the correct coolant was installed in the Mustang GT's produced over a certain period. They flushed all the coolant and re-installed coolant at the plant and then reshipped the suspected vehicles. Hope this helps. There are other members here that actually work for Ford that may be able to help further.
  13. Related to this discussion about the performance differences with different grades of gas, the average driver also has to consider the price differential. In this market, the difference between 87 > 89 octane is $0.34 and 89>93 adds another $0.20. Just two days ago 87 octane gas jumps $0.16 to $3.05 at the BP station and to $2.99 at Gulf.
  14. The Shelby is a great performance car but not a good daily driver. For the money I'll take a loaded GT Premium any day... a lot more car for a lot less money in my opinion. But if someone wants a Shelby and can afford it, good for them!
  15. I've wondered for years why Ford hadn't developed an AWD powertrain for the Mustang. The vast majority of BMW, Mercedes and other imports on the road in CT are AWD and a fair number are 2-door models. Every time I pass one of those 2-doors I wonder if the owner would have bought a Mustang if it had been available with AWD.
  16. Perfect summary of the initial process leading up to the "OK to Buy" status, etc. I was getting conflicting information from Ford this week regarding the scheduling for 2019 Mustang's. The "Scheduling Toolbox" was stating that "Retail orders will not be selected for scheduling until the OK to Buy has been achieved" which has always been the process. On Wednesday afternoon, the New York Regional Scheduler sent out his usual notice with final scheduling and commodity notes for yesterday's scheduling. His note yesterday stated "2019 MY Mustang startup scheduling to begin on Thursday, April 19. Retail Mustang orders will begin scheduling on Thursday, April 26. Until the okay to buy has been achieved, however, orders will not ship." So right now it appears that they're going to start scheduling retail orders but hold them until the "OK to Buy" status is achieved and the shipping release is issued.
  17. Our dealership took a $10,000 deposit yesterday for our 2019 Mustang Bullitt. The customer is paying $10,000 over MSRP. I placed the order this morning and the customer knows that he may not get the car for 6+ months depending on when Ford generates the scheduling allocation that we've been promised.
  18. The FDNB listed it as 05/03/2018 for a long time and then changed it to 04/27/2018. When I first saw the date change, I assumed that Ford had pulled the Balance Out Date forward a week.
  19. Just found out this morning that our dealership will be allocated (1) 2019 Mustang Bullitt. We're one of five dealerships out of the twelve in our zone to get a Bullitt. The selling price will be MSRP + $10,000 and we've already had one prospect contact us specifically about the Bullitt. And now the wait starts for the allocation and scheduling. Our 2018 Shelby GT350 is finally in the plant now and should arrive in about 3 weeks, if it gets released and shipped on time!
  20. The Continental got a lot of media attention and positive reviews but none of it has produced the necessary end result... sales.
  21. The average ICE range is 300+ miles historically. Until EV's are available with a 300+ range at an attractive/competitive price point there will be continued buyer resistance.
  22. 2019MY Mustang scheduling starts tomorrow. Retail orders will start scheduling on Thursday, April 26th. Orders will not ship until the "Okay to Buy" status is achieved.
  23. A Dealer needs allocation in order to get a vehicle scheduled but nothing prevents them from placing an order in the USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank). Ford offers allocation which Dealers can accept or put in a supplemental request for additional allocation. Ford is really pretty good about scheduling retail orders. If your Dealer is telling you that they can't order your vehicle because they're waiting for allocation, you're dealing with the wrong Dealer!
