Are you an idiot?

What I have stated is accurate Mr Cap, just as your assumption that congress ran like hell from the imigration bill because many of us wrote and demanded they be held accountable for this AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL bill, and would be removed if it passed, is also true.

The pen is mightyer than the sword, namely because politicians believe that if you are not irritated enough to write them, you either don't vote, or don't care.

Planet and his ilk learned this long ago. This is also why when there is a protest, you always see it on TV, lol. Most of them have ooddles of time on their hands, cause they don't work and are proffesional protesters that ride bikes, therefore they have time to attend these rallys and whine making them look much stronger than they actually are. (who does that sound like)

Politicians know that if 20,000 of these people complain and write, it makes no difference that they are the vast minority cause the politicians KNOW which way they will vote, and have no clue which way we will.......or even if we even care, as we are SILENT!

Not me, not many of my friends, not any more!!!!!! WE WRITE. WE do NOT send form letters over the internet just adding signatures, we actually each compose things so as they know we are serious, and if enough people do this, planet and his lobby are done.

Personally, I think Planet is ok, but how many of you would like to knock that arrogance of his shoulder a little, lol.......carbon credits, phooey, lolol. Write your congressman and senator on the bubble about changing some of this coal and oil related refinery and drilling stuff, make it clear that you will vote for whichever party or candidate supports this view, and you will soon hear Planet whine like a pig in a poke. Ya see, politicians will sell their first born for votes, and you are by faaaaaaarrrrrrrrr the majority. If they will sell their first born, what you think they will do to planet and his like minded kooks, when they realize that you people are serious, lolololol.

Just take 20 minutes, compose a short note with the main theme being free coal conversion, drill for the oil, make it a fast track for refinerys or you are out, and e-mail it!!!!!! You will be surprised how fast the tide will turn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And while your at it, have your like minded friends do the same, convince them.

Do some research before you go supporting CTL or CCS, Whosure don't know squat about CTL. If he did know anything about CTL he would know that it got shot down in flames last week during the passage of the energy bill, maybe you should write Ford and ask them why they support Carbon caps. Carbon caps are on the way so open up your wallets and pay what you OWE for your overconsumption.

'SKiPO': Michael Moore's 'SiCKO' Skips Over Facts on Road to Government Medicine

“SiCKO”’s most revealing footage captures Moore’s pilgrimage to Karl Marx’s grave in London’s Highgate Cemetery. Praise Moore for being so candid about his ideas’ truly socialist roots.

Still, a major conundrum haunts this clamor for the kind of government medicine that would make Marx misty.

It's funny, just by watching the news reading the paper and watching how insurance companies operate I came up with the same conclusions that Micheal Moore did. I didn't even know he was making a movie about it. I've been a member since may and if you read my earlier posts you will see me insulting insurers. the first time I heard of SiCKO was last week. Micheal Moore is just providing evidence and making the public aware of what's been going on! Him not providing every fact does not change the fact that insurers are buying our representatives and are using our fears of shoddy health care and tax hikes to maintain the status qua!

The left is turning the whole country into a bunch of hypochondriacts. If it were to cost anyone a hundred bucks up front, then they would not see the doctor unless there really was something serious wrong with them. If someone else pays, why not go? Old people often go just to get some attention. The more you go, the greater the risk of getting something wrong with you that you would not otherwise have. Think about something else. Forget about health care.

Average scenarios:

I have pains in my chest. I go to the doctor. He tells me that I have gas.

I go to the doctor because I feel dizzy. He tells me that I have a fever.

I go to the doctor because I bumped my head. He tells me that I have a concussion.

What did I gain from going to the doctor? What difference would it have made if I hadn't gone? Most patients are there for things which cannot be cured, and it is just a waste of money. If you have a grand-mother, go and see her. She can probably do more for you 90% of the time than a doctor.

Why does she have a ECG and X-Ray machines? Does she treat heart attacks and cancer? I'd rather go and find out I had gas then avoid going because I didn't have $100 and have a heart attack! Your talking about peoples well being and it's not so easily dismissed! Although I never go to the doctor unless something is wrong with me, I do know others who go for every cough or sniffle though!

If you have terminal cancer, the treatment is worse than the disease. It is better that you do not know for as long as possible. I could hardly walk once. My left knee was shot. I had to use a cane. I didn't go to the doctor. After about a year and a half, my body healed itself. If I had gone to the doctor, I probably would have had expensive surgery, and would be walking with a cane to-day. A doctor wanted to murder my daughter. If we had listened to him, she would never have been born. My pregnant ex-wife went to the doctor complaining of abdominal pain. He said that she needed emergency surgery to remove her appendix and gall bladder. The baby would have to be aborted. The doctor came to me saying that my wife was refusing to sign the papers to do the surgery, and he wanted me to talk to her. I refused. In the end, it turned out that the pain was just gas. The doctor must have gotten a margin call from his stock broker, and needed to come up with some quick cash.

My little girl did not completely escape the butchers. At age five one did a tonsillectomy on her, probably unnecessary, and nicked her vocal chords, leaving her with a high-pitched voice for life. She is now 34 years of age.

Ebrit, My wife just had gull bladder surgery about two months ago. When she returned to work we received a denial letter from Anthem BCBS for a portion of her hospital stay. Her Afflack coverage was also set to begin two days before her surgery and they also denied her claim saying it was preexisting although it was not diagnosed until after coverage began! BCBS stated that part of her doctor ordered hospital stay was not medically unnecessary! I'm not a doctor, It's ridiculous to expect me to pay for care that should have been %100 covered! Then I received a bill from the hospital for the unpaid portion for $585.00. More over, on many occasions I've had denials on claims and difficulty having perscriptions filled. My wife also has chronic migraine head aches and found that Relpax worked when she had an attack. Her doctor prescribed her 30 pills a month. The insurance company would only pay for one box of four pills a month, 4 pills cost $174 dollars she still needed 26 that's crazy! Now moving to the automotive insurance sector, In my state insurance lobbyist have been able to make it a state law that you have to carry auto insurance. I would prefer that if someone hit me that they had it but I still pay for uninsured motorist coverage! But Since the law went in to effect insurers have all begun to charge down payments before they would even write a policy. We must have it by law and just as malpractice insurance and doctors they have us over a barrel and, we are vulnerable to price fixing! Their also using our local police departments as a collection agency of sorts! If you get caught driving without insurance then you are fined and your license is taken. To get it back you must first pay your fines then, purchase and carry high risk insurance which the insurer makes a fortune on and provide proof of insurance to the state for three years or they'll pull you license again starting the process again! Are representatives are being bought! I sent an e-mail to Bill O'Reilly and told him that he is losing effectiveness as the the spokesman for the common wealth. Just because he has done great things for Jessica's law doesn't excuse his initial support for the proposed immigration bill and opposition on universal health care!

You're assuming that "socialized medicine" would pay for everything....it wont. You're lucky she got treated, people in other countries die from simple shit because goverments are 100 times worse at health care than private insurance.

And if it won't, what is to stop additional coverages from being sold to supplement what the government doesn't cover? Since the bulk of the liability would be placed on the government a policy of this sort should be relatively cheap! There has to be intervention, The medical costs have been allowed to get to far out of hand. As far comparing our system to other countries I'm not, I'm comparing the current premiums to the premiums of 10 or 20 years ago for the same coverage levels!

Your not comparing how much the Government intervenes into it though, through regulations and etc.

Go look back at the first 3/4 of this country and see that they were not sticking there heads into anything. Presently they are into over 850 buisnesses with laws and regulations. Which makes the price go up to comply with them and the end result is the cost is passed on to the consumer.

I live in Canada. I enjoy the Utopia of public health care. It is fine just as long as you stay healthy. Scratch that. I stay healthy, and I still have to pay over $700 per week. You complain about paying a couple hundred a month for pills? I pay three grand a month for nothing.

Do you mean in the difference in sales tax?

Income tax. In Nova Scotia, part of the sales tax goes to health care. In Ontario, we also have a surcharge that is added to our income tax, based on income. It maxes out at $900, I believe. One half of all income tax goes to health care. If you work at Ford, and in a good year, make $100,000, your income tax will be, say $35,000. Half of that is $17,500. That is how much you pay for "free" health care. If you have a spouse that makes the same as you, you pay $35,000 for health care. If you pay a million dollars a year in income tax, then you pay $500,000 a year for health care. If you pay no taxes, then you pay nothing for health care, but recieve the same standard of health care as the one who pays $500,000. It is about the equivalent of what you would get in the US at a free clinic in the ghetto. Emergency takes an average of four hours to see a doctor. It is illegal to see a private physician and pay him yourself. Socialist politicians love it because all of that money will flow through their sticky fingers. It may not quite allow them to measure up to Castro, who gets all of the money in the country, but close enough.

Have you read any of the my prior posts in this topic showing the taxes in the UK?

Yeh some, Then what do you guys suggest we do to reduce the cost of medical care? Or should we continue to pay these outrageous cost and, wrestle with our employers over who will pay it. Or should we let them force us in to lower coverages say 80%/20%, Give me some idea's?

What do you mean free market, anyone who is qualified and insured can practice medicine! The practitioners aren't the ones driving up the costs anyways, their just trying to maintain their standard of living. It's the insurers, lawyers and pharmaceutical companies that are driving up the prices!

Government regulations cost. They pass the cost onto you. I don't need the Government telling me where to go or what to get done, I'm a big boy now and can handle that on my own.

Diagnosing Our Health Care Woes

No one disputes the diagnosis: American health care is in lousy shape. As a practicing physician for more than 30 years, I find the pervasiveness of managed care very troubling.

The problems with our health care system are not the result of too little government intervention, but rather too much. Contrary to the claims of many advocates of increased government regulation of health care, rising costs and red tape do not represent market failure. Rather, they represent the failure of government policies that have destroyed the health care market.

It’s time to rethink the whole system of HMOs and managed care. This entire unnecessary level of corporatism rakes off profits and worsens the quality of care. But HMOs did not arise in the free market; they are creatures of government interference in health care dating to the 1970s. These non-market institutions have gained control over medical care through collusion between organized medicine, politicians, and drug companies, in an effort to move America toward “free” universal health care.

One big problem arises from the 1974 ERISA law, which grants tax benefits to employers for providing health care, while not allowing similar incentives for individuals. This results in the illogical coupling between employment and health insurance. As such, government removed the market incentive for health insurance companies to cater to the actual health-care consumer. As a greater amount of government and corporate money has been used to pay medical bills, costs have risen artificially out of the range of most individuals.

Only true competition assures that the consumer gets the best deal at the best price possible by putting pressure on the providers. Patients are better served by having options and choices, not new federal bureaucracies and limitations on legal remedies. Such choices and options will arrive only when we unravel the HMO web rooted in old laws, and change the tax code to allow individual Americans to fully deduct all healthcare costs from their taxes, as employers can.

As government bureaucracy continues to give preferences and protections to HMOs and trial lawyers, it will be the patients who lose, despite the glowing rhetoric from the special interests in Washington. Patients will pay ever rising prices and receive declining care while doctors continue to leave the profession in droves.

How about this idea. Once a drug is approved by the FDA all liability for the effects of this drug be placed on the FDA and the person who takes the drug of their own free will? Why do drugs cost less in other countries?

I agree the Government needs to step in but not take over. Caps on lawsuits, Ambulance chasers and the everyone has a disease mentality destroying this nation, all these things and more need to be stopped in there tracks.

RLS.............Restless leg syndrome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gimme a break what next TBES.................teenage boy erection syndrome!!!!!!!! How about LMFS.............Lazy Mother Fucker Syndrome!!!!!!!!!!! that disease would have broke the camels back for us a while ago!
