range
No surprise given the very weak, open channel frame under the Tundra. The bed actually hits the cab.
Ford-150
that tundra knows how to shack it's ass that chevy is all over the place and it looks like they have not learned anything from the past test that was done, actually i think the old tundra had some body damage after doing that course
RichardJensen
Y'know. When Ford actually PAYS ATTENTION to what their testing reveals, they build some pretty solid vehicles.
ANTAUS
Am I the only one that laughed watching the Tundra's bed slapping against the cab? LOL

range
Am I the only one that laughed watching the Tundra's bed slapping against the cab? LOL No you're not. In fact the journalists in the audience broke out in hearty laughter. Pretty damn funny I thought. The Tundra looks as sturdy as a flimsy dime store beach chair. ANTAUS
I think we should invade a few auto sites like Edmunds, and share with the Toy fans, how pathetic their truck is...
02MustangGT
That's a pretty darn good showing for a truck that was new to the market 4 years ago. Even the new Silverado handled the test poorly when compared to the F-150. This and other tests should leave little doubt that the F-150 is THE strongest half ton truck available. OAC_Sparky
Toyota should hire Shakira to be their spokeswoman for the Tundra.
Ford-150
Toyota should hire Shakira to be their spokeswoman for the Tundra. and J-Lo for the fact that that ass on that truck is huge, but J-Lo's ass looks better
Ford-150
has anybody ever been off roading in the new chevy, i have been in the old one and it sucked, banged my head on the window countless times and(just like in the video) couldn't keep it straight
Explorer4X4
Y'know. When Ford actually PAYS ATTENTION to what their testing reveals, they build some pretty solid vehicles. Toyota made the Tundra, with entry level compact car in mind. Sorry, but people don't want a Yaris for a truck.
wescoent
In an overall sense, I think the Tundra and Silverado have beaten the F-150 oh-so-slightly, judging from rag tests and such. With the '09 redesign, they're going to catch Toyota and GM with their pants down, having just introduced all-new trucks that are going to get throttled by the new F-150. So, for the next 4-5 years, Ford will have a full-size truck that is indeed significantly better than the competition, and sales will reflect that. If Ford can get the hydraulic hybrid to market within 5 years, they're golden. I envision a hydraulic hybrid system providing the power down low, and the 3.5L Twin Turbo providing the power up top. That would be a ridiculously fuel-sipper of a truck. Sales will take off, and Ford will be set in terms of CAFE.
Keyser Soze
Wonder why they chose a Z71 equipped Chevy when the F150 was not an FX4? Might not have made a huge difference, but it would have been useful to see a more apples to apples comparison.

But now Ford (and Dodge) know what Toyota and GM have, and will have for a good five years. So its easy to top them, because they know what they are making.
