MarkFive
A friend of mine has just informed me that Kuga translates to "Black Plague" in Croatian. This is another one to add to the strange translation folklore.

battyr
who knows...hell Chevy used "Impact"....the Ambulance chasers all toasted...... GM renamed the Buick Lacrosse to Lucerne in Canada because a small percentage of French speakers use the word "Lacrosse" as slang for masterbation. Actually I think it is something more like "playing Lacrosse". Wonder what "riding a Mustang" translate into in French. I would think name Lacrosse would be a good selling point for the car. jpd80
who knows...hell Chevy used "Impact"....the Ambulance chasers all toasted...... Down here in Australia Mitsubishi have the Highlander so Toyota call their Highlander a Kluger (German for smart one) I could never own a vehicle that sounds like a Kluge, sorry just me....... Edstock
Maybe they can do a deal with George Lucas, and bring out an all-black Darth Vader "Black Death" Edition Kuga. Goths all over the EU will go crazy. Better than the "Vlad the Impaler" model, I guess.

papilgee4evaeva
GM renamed the Buick Lacrosse to Allure in Canada because a small percentage of French speakers use the word "Lacrosse" as slang for masterbation. Actually I think it is something more like "playing Lacrosse". Wonder what "riding a Mustang" translate into in French. I would think name Lacrosse would be a good selling point for the car. Fixed. I think Allure is a dumb name myself.
battyr
Fixed. I think Allure is a dumb name myself. Thanks. I need a bigger monitor. All the buicks look the same to me. And my memory is going with age.
