range
One of the many highlights from the new study ranking Ford second to none in quality. Not only is the Taurus rated #1 in customer satisfaction in its segment, but Taurus quality improved by 33% over the 500. P71_CrownVic
Not only is the Taurus rated #1 in customer satisfaction in its segment Not too hard to please the 48,909 people that bought a brand new car...
range
It sure seems to have been hard for Buick, and Pontiac and Toyota and Chrysler and...... Taurus, #1 in Customer Satisfaction. Edited April 7, 2008 by range
P71_CrownVic
It sure seems to have been hard for Buick, and Pontiac and Toyota and Chrysler and...... Hmm...according to JD Power, Buick beats Ford in the dependability and quality surveys.

The latest JDPower quality survey shows Buick below average in quality. Buick leads in the dependability study, but not in the large car segment. Ford takes the #1 and #2 spots. range
Would be nice if they actually advertised the car with these findings... Automotive News reported this week the all new taurus starts production early next year. I doubt we'll see much specific adverting in the remaining months of the current Taurus. I think most of this years marketing budget will go to "Ford. Drive One" and for new launches (ie Flex, F-150).

That would be fairly impressive if they do launch it next spring...guess the Chicago guys will hopefully have something to look forward to in the next couple years... Yea, I was thinking it would be introduced early next year for a Fall release. They also mention the 2010 Mustang will be launched early next year too. range
If Ford actually did advertise the Taurus, here are two good sound bites: Taurus: Rated the safest full-size car in America Taurus: Rated #1 In Customer Satisfaction
TomServo92
Nope...it took about three clicks to find Link 1 Link 2 In the first link, it's interesting how the Lincoln and Mercury "rebadged Fords" ranked higher than Cadillac... :reading:
NickF1011
Not too hard to please the 48,909 people that bought a brand new car... So it would be harder to please them if they sold 200,000? If the worse a car sells, the easier it is to please its owners, the Edsel must be one of the most pleasing cars ever built!! Conversely, the Camry must not please anybody. taxman100
It's great that they have been rated by someone as being so high in quality, but there are so many surveys out there that most people tune them out as just marketing. That leaves reputation - and that takes years to earn. Personally, I've never heard of the organization that made the survey, but I have heard of J.D. Powers. If you look at their long term dependibility ratings after three years of ownership, the Panther is always among the highest in their surveys. I'd go even higher - I base mine upon 8-10 years of ownership, and any front wheel drive Ford owned in my family has never made the grade in that lifespan. Your needs and wants aren't what the general market looks for. Not to mention my family has had several Escorts (yes Escorts) that have lasted well over 150K miles on them and over 8-10 years
351cid
... and any front wheel drive Ford owned in my family has never made the grade in that lifespan. Our old 2001 Taurus did 206K faithful miles. Our 1989 Tempo did 216K miles. I know several people with various FWD Fords that have over 150K on them.
