P71_CrownVic
and the styling resonates with them. Man, the kids today are doing some powerful drugs I would bet my life that if you put the new Euro Focus side by side with the new NA Focus with both having SYNC and the same price, people will flock to the Euro styled one. Absolutely they would...the base model in Europe looks TONS better than the highest end model we have here. Ford wouldn't need gimmicks like SyNc, and 5 light bulbs that change color to sell cars if the offered the Euro Focus here. mlhm5
it's a little slow for a sport hatch but i know if they brought it here they would put a more powerful engine isn't the engine in it capable of 300 HP, 300 TQ in the S60R? At $7 a gallon for gas, with more horsepower it would not be a daily driver.

Ford of Europe offers dealer fit tuning kits for the Fiesta and Focus ST. The kits which can be specified for new cars as well as retro fitted to older cars have been developed by Mountune of Malden Essex. Mountune provided the works Escort Cosworth WRC engines during the late 90's. The kits increase the Fiesta from 150 to 185 bhp and the Focus from 222 to 260 bhp. These dealer fitted kits are covered by Ford's warranty.
V8 Ford
I can't understand all the whining about the C1 focus, or European products in general, especially since most of it seems to come from people that have no experience with the cars beyond pictures they've seen on the internet. I'm not saying the C1 focus isn't a nice car; it has much more quality feel than the previous US focus - the interior materials are nicer (the only ones I've been in were top of the line, so that might have something to do with it)- and it has (or at least feels like it has more) a more spacious cabin. That said, the current US focus is still a great little car. If its anything like the previous one, its a great driver, and the interior is much better. I can't say I care for the styling of the American 08 Focus but I'm not really a fan of anything kinetic either (except for the Fiesta and Iosis). jpd80
We have both the early C 170 and later C1 Focus here in Australia and by my experience, both are fine cars. It's unfortunate that problems were induced in the Americanised C170 and something I'm sure Ford is anxious to prevent ever happening again. It amusing to see comments critical of C170-2 and C1 looks but truth to tell is, if Toyota sold cars on looks they'd gone out of business years ago. MKII
I can't understand all the whining about the C1 focus, I'm not really a fan of anything kinetic either (except for the Fiesta and Iosis). I think it has to do with Ford NA track record , for example they launch the Focus in NA which was pretty much the same as the Euro Focus, then over the next few years Ford NA starts to decontent and water down , strip out some quality , then the rest of the world is offered a new C1 Focus for 2005 , and Ford NA does some more cheapening and refresh for 2005 , then for 2008 do a resdesign which has no resemblance or character of a Focus. Its a loss of faith and trust in a company to do the right things. You say you are not a fan of kinetic, but I see in your sig you have a Chineses spec'd Mondeo, top spec'd at that. So you do not like the new Mondeo? Edited April 30, 2008 by MKII
V8 Ford
I can understand people being upset about how Ford chose to forgo updating the Focus properly, especially since the C1 focus is a better car than the 2000-2007 NA model. What bugs me is how Ford of Europe products (all of it, not just the C1 Focus) get put up on a pedestal while Ford NA products get trashed. The C1 might be a better car than the 2005-2007 NA focus, but that doesn't make North American one a horrible car and the 2008 Focus is much improved over its predecessor. Ford of Europe builds great cars, but Ford NA does as well. You say you are not a fan of kinetic, but I see in your sig you have a Chineses spec'd Mondeo, top spec'd at that. So you do not like the new Mondeo? The Mondeo and the Taurus are my dad's, I'm just a broke college student. I don't have a problem with Kinetic Design (or the 2008 Focus for that matter), I just don't find the designs particularly interesting in applications other than the Fiesta or Iosis concept. Maybe I'll change my mind when I get a chance to see the Mondeo and other kinetic styled Fords in person.
