jon_the_limey
Possibly the finest advert for the new Fiesta there could have been! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StSZ383UCX4 Hopefully the other parts of the review will be on Youtube soon because they are just brilliant. V8 Ford
Just saw it, absolutely epic. The interview with Boris was great too. For some reason, I have an urge to take the Mustang to the mall.
Ford Jellymoulds
Oh Shit l missed that one. Ford sell the most cars in Britain, Top Gear never ever feature any of them and when they do l miss it it Just great, still l will watch the repeat. Clarkson not in in a Ferrari, Aston or Porsche thats nice for a change as most Brits don't drive them cars Jeremy. Ford need to use this as an advert for the Fiesta? But it looked a bit like an old British Leyland Austin Metro advert recycled by Clarkson and it didnot do BL much good they folded shortly afterwards. Clarkson using old Austin Metro adverts how unoriginal, but its nice to see a Ford on Top Gear for a change its long overdue but then they are the UK's No1 Brand. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=E4-8LgXjQbc The new Austin Metro is sooooooooh aerodynamic it gets 62 MPG LOL just what the buyer wants, buts it was soooooooh boring everybody was buying old skool kool Ford boxy Cortina's & Escorts with piss poor MPG instead in 1980 at the time LOL. Versa-Tech
It's been pulled. doh!Not any more. I just watched it. Clarkson is brilliant. Ford should buy the rights to this and use it for a commercial. Absolutely hilarious

Huh? The Austin Metro was a top seller in the UK, partly because the adverts were brilliant. Glad your not in charge of marketing at Ford! I think you will find that the early 80's metro (which used the same ad's you refered to) actually gave the then Fiesta a real scare in the sales charts and rescued Austin Rover at that time. Isn't that why they say the "Austin Metro was the car that saved Rover?". This was a great advert for Ford by Top Gear, and really entertaining. Only question I have is why did Ford provide TG with a car in a horrid shade of green? Edited December 8, 2008 by TStag
2005Explorer
Ford needs to do what it can to bring the Fiesta to North America with minimal changes over the European version. This car makes the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Versa absolutely laughable.
30 OTT 6
I'm disappointed to see that the rear seats in the Fiesta do not fold flat with the truck floor. That's a strike against the car in my opinion.

V8 Ford
They're going to ruin the show if they make a US version. Nothing comes close to this.
Versa-Tech
They're going to ruin the show if they make a US version. Nothing comes close to this. I find that Clarkson is the show; or at least 75% of it. James May makes up another 15% with the remaining 10% going to the hamster.
SVT_MAN
Classic Clarkson. Isn't there someone on here who has a link to full Top Gear episodes? *cough* I remember that from last year. They're going to ruin the show if they make a US version. Nothing comes close to this. Agreed. I'd much rather have Clarkson come over to America and make fun of our cars than to have some American morons blather on about them. Top Gear is entertainment, pure and simple ... you can't take it too seriously. British humor is the best kind, IMO. I love it. Clarkson's character is sort of ... an enigma that you must continue watching. Edited December 9, 2008 by SVT_MAN
Edstock
It didn't hydro-lock, it kept running. Best car not-TV commercial TV commercial I've ever seen. It was so incredibly spontaneous.

Isn't that why they say the "Austin Metro was the car that saved Rover?". Metros were the biggest rust buckets ever made, it was the car that destroyed Rover reputation for ever. Gotta say the rust bucket Metro with its late 1930's A series engine technology sure did give the Fiesta a scare or did you mean the Model T But a least it was a lot better than a Triumph Stag at least it started and use to run on all cylinders. Mark B. Morrow
American Malls are bigger. No way would you get a '74 Monaco in the one they used for Top Gear. The new Oldsmobiles are in early this year!
