fordworker
Cnn money article from Global Insight (which is a very credable auto news organization) says it is believed Ford will close 2 assembly plants. Which 2 go read it yourself. This will almost mean supporting plants may take a hit also. Although the 2 they mentioned can easily move production to 2 new plants under going renovation. I seen this coming when they announced the details of the contract in 07. Says GM will close many more plants and Chrysler will close more plants than Ford. GM and Chrysler will have major layoffs unless people take buyouts Ford can easily move people to the newer plants such as the new MAP formally MTP. Makeastand
"Chrysler on Friday said it was temporarily idling three plants, but there's been no talk of closures. Ford Motor Co. H. D. Hogman
This is all I found but it doesn't say Ford is "closing" 2 plants. Click Here Can't you read it says that Stoddard expects the automaker which is FORD to shutter plants in Wanye, MI and Kansas City, MO. madime39
Can't you read it says that Stoddard expects the automaker which is FORD to shutter plants in Wanye, MI and Kansas City, MO. Stoddard is a Global Insight analyst, not a Ford spokesperson. He "EXPECTS the automaker" to shutter plants. Ford is not announcing anything, this is just an analyst making predictions. Makeastand
Can't you read it says that Stoddard expects the automaker which is FORD to shutter plants in Wanye, MI and Kansas City, MO. Can't you read, it says "EXPECTS." That is not concrete, and further more it says "SHUTTER" not closed. When we were on furlough sometimes they called us shuttered. Interpret it the way you want. When we were on furlough sometimes they called us shuttered. Interpret it the way you want. While expects is def not concrete, SHUTTER by it's definition means,(taken from the dictionary)..... ......a person or thing that shuts. .....to close (a store or business operations) for the day or permanently. .....to close or close down Until Ford says if/when plants are closing, people are going to speculate, on everything. Footballfan
This Stoddard guy is an ass just like all anal-ists. I know that some of the GM plants this idiot mentioned in the article are getting new product, for example the truck plant in Pontiac. Belvidere and Sterling Heights Chrysler plants are going to be used by Fiat. Bottom line: idiots like Stoddard should keep his lame-ass predictions to himself. He will have a nice cushy job making psychic-like predictions, leave us alone. And shame on the media for not doing their homework and relying on "experts" like Stoddard. tompor1
when they reopen map formerly mtp all wap and isa employees will go there then wap will not operate as an assembly plant... Exactly correct cornbread. It's easy to make predictions like that, since Ford has planned it for over a year. :shades:
MichiganTruck_Mafia
At most risk at Ford are Wayne Assembly, as Ford Focus production is shifted to nearby Michigan Truck assembly plant, and the Ford Escape plant in Kansas City, Mo. http://www.freep.com/article/20090207/BUSI...+at+GM+feared++

M T P C L O S E D so pretty much that was a no brainer prediction since FORD had allready made their intentions known
