I'm thinking that we may need to meet face to face and discuss your displeasure. How does that sound? We will have a Union meeting on Sunday if you are so inclined. The meeting comes to order at 2:30pm and I assume you know where the Local is...? That is your right as a member. Have you brought your concerns to the membership? Please do...

What kind of dumbazz would gig this post as a negative?

but remember pfa ,,the people who came with that work were told raws was just a waiting point on the way to their final destination ,livonia,,,just walk in there and ask those who came with the work!,,,

I'm one of those "ypsi" transfers, in fact one of the firsts to transfer over to Rawsonville. We were never told, directly or indirectly that Raws would be just a waiting point. Our plant was closing and we had a choice to go with our jobs, and most of us did.In the last few years we have seen lots and lots of areas leave and lots of product lost.We have also seen lots of starter jobs, and the componets that go with the starters come in.I have worked with many people and most are very concerned with quality, and fight every day with management to make a quality part. Many lines have problems with outside vendors shipping in crap parts, and we have to deal with these things.I have been very impressed with UAW workers caring about their product, and as a result their jobs.Keep us the good work Rawsonville UAW.Hopefully the plant will stay open, and we will get the battery job.

I'm not quite sure what is going on with the two of you and your posts, but from where I am sitting life is pretty good.I get a 40 hour check every week, and I'm not working in an assembly plant. We even work a few Fridays, bcs manegment screwed something up during the week.Ask some of the people who bailed the first time and signed up to go to other plants. With the exception of the Saline plant, most people came running back to Rawsonville when they had the chance. If said employee is so unhappy at Rawsonville, why didin't you sign up to leave when you had the chance?I've worked at a few plants and the politics are all the same, only the location and the players change. We have all seen the "indirect labor" take a cut, and many clipboard jobs have been eliminated.Just wondering when we all going to cut some of the green vests, as they seem to be the most expensive labor costs we have. Not the mention the most idiotic.

Come on....are you serious that you cannot see what he is saying? Can't you see the writing on the wall? What has he done for us? You don't have to show up to any meeting to see this. .... and no, I don't go to the monthly crony conventions.

I was at Rawsonville wiper motor was not a vendor problem. It was an engineering problem with a grease, and they were told to run the parts anyway, ya maybe they could have should have but is toooo late now. As fas as blamin rawsonville, in no way do I blame rawsonville employees. I wish they could have kept there jobs cause I would still be there now. I'm just staten some facts. Ya there Products may have had age on them, But they lost them due to the fact they could make em cheap enough. And they were taken somewhere else. But I don't blame them. If they did the best job they could then they did! Ypsi people did the best they could to keep there jobs there too but it just wasn't enough. I think the books were stacked already.

There were two wiper issues. The grease issue was the recall that took place at the end of 2005. The hourly employees notified a management person who didn't bother to read the report. He kept his job while the Area Manager lost his over it!!! The vendor part was a stop ship back in 2000 or 2001. As to those of you that simply wish to bash Rawsonville, I have only one thing that I want to say... LEARN HOW TO SPELL! I wonder what the quality is like at your facilities ...

Why in the heck would you complain about TLOs. You lose no sub credits nor benefits. You should be kissing your Joels feet.

The Electricians that went to OHAP were from in zone Ohio zone 4 posting. TLO, ILO you or anyone else outside of zone 4 never had a shot.

Why do you post such hateful things???? This site used to be informative but blow hards like you stirs%$t and tell half truths to discredit someone.

How childish.

Who cares at this point what happened in the past. what the hell is going on NOW! is the ville going down for good or are they getting a new job?????

[/q

Word on the street is that "the Ville" is getting part of the battery job.The powers to be are waiting for the plant manager to return to work, to make the announcement.Haven't been told any numbers or time frame, but it sounds like we will be splitting the job with another plant.Should know some solid info next week.Don't know if it will be enough to save the plant, but any new work is better than no work at all. :hyper:

Heard that it should be around 100 jobs or so. Not as good as I had originally hoped but with all the open real estate in the plant something is better than nothing. Keep those jobs coming!

The 100+ jobs would be the initial start and run.

We have been hearing these rumors for far too long. I will beleive in Rawsonville's future when I see more cars than weeds in the parking lot. I pray that I will be able to someday return from the shithole that is Saline. You guys just do not know how bad it truly is!!!!!!

having worked at rawsonville from 95 to 04 and at saline from last june until the present, I have no idea how ANY job at Saline is worse than ANY JOB at Rawsonville. In between 04 and last June, I was a car builder. That's what is called Real Work, and if you think things are truly bad at Saline, Gosh help you if you ever go to an assembly plant.

I guess it's all just perspective...

You guys might not even want to get the battery work.

Automaker pushing to pay less than $14 per hour

You know Ford is going to try to get the same rate as GM.

you are absolutely correct,,why would ford give battery jobs to us at 28dollar,,,when gm gets it done for less than 14 dollar???? 12 dollar the new 3rd tier wage,,the only way that work is coming to us ,is at least 2nd tier if not worse,,thats means,,NONE OF US HERE NOW WILL EVER BE ON THOSE JOBS!!!!....gm is getting it done at 12dollar less than 20 miles away from our plant (in our back yard),,,i think certain people need to take some reality pills slap.gif
