people be for real the grievance has already been settle with the agreement, don't you remember bob king saying that he would like to handle the grievance in negotiations and not at Arbitration. So think about it, the Arbitration dates has been setup just to close the case out and we don't get anything cause we already got it in this so call GOOD CONTRACT, as they are saying all over the news, just think about it----- I may be wrong but once we vote on the new contract the grievance is dead--- check out the links

Thats not true douche bag, grievances aren't settle just because we have a new agreement. The UAW wanted the grievance heard prior too negotiations and Jimmy has clearly said that it will not be a part of the 2011 negotiations! It was posted all over the plant! The UAW had to have the arbitrator subpoena the company to get information. That is the reason this thing has dragged out. The company didn't want to give financial info to the arbitrator. the timing of this laid out back in August would have brought this into 2012. Wow, you can't dream this shit up!! Let me make something up and put it on Blue Oval Forum!

The $6,000 is also being called a "settlement bonus", NOT a "signing bonus", which leads ME to understand that settlement of the grievance is included. I think we have all learned that the wording in the contract highlights are crucial, but again, this is only how I interpret it; could be wrong.

I was ;looking at the same thing...Page 6 of ther highlights...the graph shows all the bonuses and names them...they are not calling it a signing bonus...and the choice of the word "Settlement" leads me to believe that the greivence is done.

Anyone who has had a significant grievance against Ford knows not to expect anything..You've got to sue the bastards to get anything.

If $6000 is the settlement (interesting that it will be taxed like a bonus), where is our signing bonus like GM got?

I'm guessing our "signing" bonus is the same as GM - $5,000; they're adding $1,000 as settlement for the grievance and changing the name to "settlement bonus". That's why people who were hired in the last year get $1,000 less than the rest of us.

Gee, a whole grand (before tax of course) for all the concessions we gave them...How generous.

Wow, talk about your spin doctors. They are both called Settlements because thats exactly what they are. Just take two seconds and Google it, dont be led down the road by self-righteous self indulged hate mongers.

Heres what you will find.

2011 GM-UAW Contract Settlement Agreement. The United Auto Workers said it had reached a new labor agreement with General Motors Co. Details of the settlement were being withheld, pending a ratification meeting with local union leaders. The UAWs existing contract with the GM expired Wednesday, but the union was barred from striking under the terms of the $49.5 billion federal bailout of GM in 2009.

It would be hard to explain why on page 4 of the Ford UAW Settlement Highlight booklet that it states that the Equality of Sacrifice Grievance will be heard on Nov 17th and 18th if it were apart of the contract.

We have asked our IUAW Leadership to obtain work, get our brothers and sisters back to a job and they did just that. Not only did they obtain work, they collectively negotiated work to be returned from Mexico, China and Europe. How is this not all over this sight?

I've read the contract. I like what I see and Im not going to turn my back on my fellow brother and say sorry youre out of a job but I need a 10k signing bonus. I know that some of you have different priorities, my first and foremost priority is jobs. My second priority is the want to have product brought back to the United States. These in my opinion are most crucial for any Union, plus the fact that they are both the hardest to obtain. Our IUAW Negotiating team has obtained both.

When I finished reading the contract, it made me proud to be a Union brother. Just knowing that many of our brothers and sisters will now have work, and that we will have new brothers and sisters in the tune of 12k is just amazing. Our concessions has turned our Union and our Company into the upswing of things, we are growing!! How can anyone not recognize that? Not too long ago we were all wondering what they (The Company) were going to try and take away from us again.

Take the time to read your tentative contract, ask questions and base your vote on your own merit.

I stand in support of this contract, and I will always stand in support of jobs.

Good Gosh Gumdrops you are right and you want to why Bob King wants the grievance not part of the signing bonus because IUAW will not get any money from a grievance because it is money owe to workers , but if becomes part of the bonus they get 1.15 percent per person times 41000 workers at ten thousand dollars bonus is equal 4,715,000 and 6000 bonus is equal to about 900,000 dollars towards their union pension and healthcare and raises to themselves like they did recently and then they get Ford motor and healthcare like us ,so they get 2 of each when they retire.Ask them if u don't believe me.

-Dec., ’05.- Lost a 3% raise, lost some COLA -- lost $2,000/year (about $10,000 total).

--Sept.,07. - Lost more COLA, (up to 50 cents/hour). Increased health care costs for

prescriptions, office visits and other co-pays.

--Feb., ‘09. - Lost 2 Performance Bonuses (about $5,000 total); 2 Christmas bonuses ($1,200

total); COLA eliminated; no overtime after 8 hours; Easter Monday holiday taken away; reduced

SUB ; no pay-in-lieu.

It is estimated we lost about $30,000 in money alone. But that’s only a small part of it.

--Two-tier wages. New hires lose over $25,000 a year. Two-tier wages make it harder for first tier

to get a raise and threatens to bring us all down to 2nd tier.

--The VEBA. Health care for retirees is no longer guaranteed. How much money will we have to

pay out of pocket when we retire?

--Lost break time and alternative work schedules. It makes our working conditions much harder.

It may take weeks, months or years off our lives. What price do you put on that?

Also they promise it all back if we start making a profit ,well its been 6 quarters almost 10 billion dollars profits ,they gave their salary workers theirs back and our number 1 ceo made more then all three number 1 ceos at Honda,Toyota,Nissan combine. They awarded themselves almost 96millions Bill Ford and Alan Mually in salary n bonuses recently and even our IUAW voted themselves

Weren't many of the new product announcements and investments already promised in the last contract or modifications to the contract?

OHAP

More to the point, the OctoMods failed so new commitments are moot. But those plants listed were offered "Re-Re-Commitments" for product. THOSE commitments not fulfilled by September 2011 are essentially failed for being unfulfilled and should have been grieved if the union had done it's job. But they wanted to avoid rocking the boat before the 2011 negotiations.

Promising to give us the same thing in this new contract is deceitful. And it is NOT NEW WORK.

Off the top of my head, Louisville Assembly. They are nearly completely retooled. How can you count that as a gain in the proposed new contract?

Im a no vote on this one, and not so much on the signing bonus. I thought the VEBA was good for 80 years? what the hell happened?

I thought Bob said that the grievance had to be settled first? No mention of it!!!! What happened to all the other promises that was made? I fell like we the middle class union members going getting a shaft you know where. We must do the right thing here.

Wow, you cans skim the highlights without knowing the true facts. That is all from the previous contract. Work that is already here. Nothing new! What about the impending doom of the FN transmission? What is replacing that? The mexican built powershift transmission.....Voting NO. There is nothing but bad in it for me.

about what happens later.

Ford contract would make concessions permanent!

The tentative Ford contract means this: Ford will give us a signing bonus of $6,000 (before taxes), plus four $1,500 bonuses (before taxes) and promises of profit-sharing. But we lose all the concessions we gave up. Everything that we want back, Ford said NO! NO! NO!

NO raises, NO COLA, NO performance bonuses, NO Christmas bonuses, NO Easter Monday holiday, NO return of lost break time. NO overtime after 8 hours. (Letter on back-up time doesn’t change this.)

First tier autoworkers lost up to $30,000 in concessions over the last few years. Now Ford wants to continue these concessions for another 4 years. At what cost to us? Lose another $30,000? All for $12,000 in bonuses? No raises for 4 more years, after we have already waited 6 years?

They give us 2011 profit-sharing this November – by taking it away from next March’s money – hoping we will jump at the money now and forget

The biggest concession is that 2-tier will continue.

This contract does not bring up the 2nd-tier workers up to first tier. This contract keeps them permanent 2nd-tier, with no path to move up to first tier wages and benefits. The pay increase, spread over 4 years, barely makes up for what 2nd-tier workers lost in the 2009 concessions. The supposed 20% limit on 2nd-tier workers is filled with loopholes. The percentage of 2nd-tier workers will increase, meaning the threat of everyone being eventually reduced to 2nd-tier will increase.

The profit-sharing formula is supposed to be improved, by including North American operations instead of just the U.S. But what is to keep Ford from shifting profits around to hide them? Do you trust Ford? There is also a cap on profit-sharing when there didn't used to be one. And there is no guarantee of getting profit-sharing every year.

This contract makes us pay for what Ford did not put into the VEBA. The VEBA is underfunded because Ford only put in 57% of what was needed for retiree health care. Retirees are paying more out of pocket. Instead of making Ford pay for their obligations, this contract would take 10% of any profit-sharing we might get to put into the VEBA.

New retirees will take another hit because for the first contract ever, there is no increase in the 30-and-out pension. Current retirees’ Christmas bonus is taken away from them.

There are promises of new jobs. But remember the 2007 contract where Ford promised to save 10,000 jobs – instead we lost 17,300 jobs. If you look closely at the promises of jobs, it is mostly work that Ford was going to do anyway.

When the past concessions were taken away from us, they wanted us to believe that when the companies were reporting a profit again, we would get back what we gave up. It was all a lie.

They want us to accept that these concessions will be permanent. But we don’t have to stand by and watch our families’ standard of living be permanently reduced, while our bosses are the only ones who prosper from our hard work.

The Ford contract does have more upfront money than the GM contract. But let’s remember why it is more – because we voted “No” in 2009. It ‘s a good lesson to remember this time.

I’m voting “NO” and I ask you to vote “NO”!and where is right to strike in this contract located can find it,maybe u can tell your local before they vote on it and 2nd tier get a 3dollars raise over life of contract 1st tier stay at the same wage for another 4 years ,we are getting shafted and 2nd tier getting treated like kings and we r the jokers of this new contract !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

“The highest gain ever to be obtained by any Union Official, Union Representative and or Union Activist is a Job for a fellow Brother in need”

I am none of the above. Just a hard working , former UAW plant rep that has seen enough in over 20 years to put two and two together and make four. I didn't run for a second term after all the crap I saw in four short years. The only fact that I posted was the amount of your bonus the IUAW will get, and the fact that if it is settled as a grievance, they do not get that money. Take it for what its worth.

I get damned tired of US taking cuts and the IUAW giving themselves raises, of US being the scapegoats for everything form profits being down, to costs being up. Of IUAW appointees being some of the worst reps in the plants, and the membership of those plants having no say in the process. It’s easy to not do your job on the plant floor, while kissing ass at the IUAW to get a nice cushy appointment.

Of IUAW trying to push concessions down our throats while we all knew Ford was making a profit (which was confirmed just a few short days later) IUAW knew it too...and still they tried to screw the membership. I am sorry that I don't feel as you do, I simply have seen enough to know better than to put any faith in these so called leaders. And now that the IUAW is a part owner...I fear them even more.

You can have, and are fully entitled to your own opinion. I just don't have to follow along like a sheep and agree with it. UAW needs to get back to the basics from which it was founded, or they are going to cease to exist at some point in the not so distant future. Already here in Michigan, the Republican legislators are planning to introduce a right to work bill for the entire state. How do you think that will affect us?

So I post some accurate Information, and a little speculation…so what, I know the facts are there, you can read them. Take it anyway you want, I really don’t give a damn. But I WILL continue to post what I feel is relevant to ALL ford UAW members.

And just for the record, I have NEVER been in trouble at Ford. The UAW has never had to bail me out of anything, and never will. I show up on time each and every day, and do my job to the best of my ability, I don't kiss ass, and don't ask for anything other than my local contract be followed. If you have a problem with someone doing that, theyn maybe YOU are the one that has the real problem.

I really don’t want to give this poster any merit, simply because of the BS tactic of saying that we got the extra 1k because we voted “no” in the last mods. That’s a full out unsubstantiated rouse just to get support to turn down a good agreement.

But, I’ll go with it for a minute.

Let’s take a look at your numbers. 30k in the last few years, this is your statement correct. Your math is way off. Take a look at your W2’s, it’s an easy way to see who is full of shit.

But let’s look at this statement, so what you’re really saying is “Sorry you’re out of a job” but I need to have a larger signing bonus and COLA. The $1,500 lump sum inflation bonus is the equivalent of .78 cents per hour, furthermore it’s a guaranteed source not a State dependant amount source. I remember a letter not long ago stating that IUAW needed to get us guaranteed increases, ok they did that, maybe not as much as some had hoped for but never the less, it was done.

2nd tier workers up the 1st. Last I checked, $15 up to $19 is an increase. It’s not parity but it is still an increase toward parity. You then say there is no path to move up to 1st tier wages and benefits. Again, another lie. We retained the 20% cap and if breached, the highest senior 2nd tier employee would move into 1st tier. So why the lie? If you can’t sell your movement with the truth, then just stop.

The $30,000 loss was a direct statement from Bob King himself. Ask him Jeff. Why on earth would you support a 2nd tier wage? You seriously need to be educated in Labor History and what the Union used to stand for! Back to the $30,000 figure, the time 1/2 alone after 8 hours adds up, with xmas bonus, performance bonus, COLA roll in with new contract depending if its a contract year. Your happy with $15 during this gas crisis? Stagnant wages of your fellow veteran employees those that are 1st tiered? Again, product drives sales, sales are the only thing that drives job security, not a union promise of anything!! A slap in the face kills an employees morale. especially if u give up on the people that are counting on u the most.
