akirby
Mazda is still using their version of CD3 which they recently made larger similar to what Ford did on their original CD3. Mazda is not involved with Ford's CD4 platform AFAIK. Any similarities are coincidental.
tdubztx1
Here are the pictures of Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion 2013 I think the Mazda concept looks more like the current mazda 6 with a new front end more than it looks like the fusion. However if you look at the mazda minagi concept and compare it to the ford vertrek concept, the look pretty similar as well besides the front clips
Harley Lover
Do Ford and Mazda still share platform for midsize sedan? No.
bzcat
I think these are all the remaining "shared" products, including rebadges: - CX-9 and Ford Edge are both still using CD3S - Fiesta and Mazda2 are both still using the B1 platform - Mazda is selling a rebadged T6 Ranger in many markets - Ford Taiwan is still making Econovan which is rebadged Mazda Bongo Mazda3 and Focus have separated although both are still using evolution of the C1 platform. But they are on a parallel evolution path and not developed together. Edited January 23, 2012 by bzcat
Captainp4
I thought US market got mazda6 on EUCD which was bigger than the ROW mazda6 which stayed on cd3 or something like that a couple of years ago??
akirby
I thought US market got mazda6 on EUCD which was bigger than the ROW mazda6 which stayed on cd3 or something like that a couple of years ago?? Nope. They took their original platform that Ford had lengthened and widened for the 2006 Fusion and lengthened and widened it on their own. It's not EUCD. 97svtgoin05gt
They both look great, I will give the edge on visual appearance to the Mazda. Unfortunately my luck with Mazdas isn't too good and I doubt I'd give it another chance. I had horrendous problems with the 626 I had and the 6s I purchased like to eat up clutches. I took a bath on that car.
