Progress on Orders for Fusion Energi and Hybrid Titanium

I just got off of the phone with my dealer. I was checking up on the status of my car wich has been sitting on the train lot sense last Tuesday. I was asking if there was anyone whom we can call to expedite delivery and the GM got really snippy with me and started questioning why I have been checking in on my car ect. Basically, he started arguing with me and I said that if he didn't like me spending 38,000 with his dealership that I would take my business elsewhere. Now he wants me to pickup my deposit check and will not sell me the car. The support from the dealership has been very poor, and I have been treated very rudely. At this point what are my options? The dealership is refusing to work with me. I talked briefly with the owner who said that the GM said I was vulgar with him, which is 100 percent not true. This dealership has not been living up to the quality of service that ford is known for. What can I do about this? I want to file a complaint. The GM went all bipolar, and the owner is only getting one side of the story saying its time to part ways. Horrible support!

Not to play devil's advocate, but did you not threaten to take your business elsewhere? Sounds like he took you up on that.

We are only hearing one side of the story too, but you must have really pissed him off to have him refuse to sell you the car.

It's always best to keep the conversations civil and the tone pleasant in situations like this.

You'll get lots of advice here. You still might be able to get your car via another dealer who can get it as a trade from your current dealer. At any rate, I wish you luck.

I only threatened after the GM started going all Psyco and questioning me about calling and checking up on my status. He's claiming that im all over him about the car. He's only called me twice sense the order was placed. I had to go elsewhere to get my vin, and there has been no communication at all. Infact, I remember going off on CyberDman because the dealer would not update me at all. I had to explain to him that every status they have given me was wrong They originally said 14-18 weeks to be built, 4 weeks on the train, and another month to deliver. Every status that I have given them has been right. 6-8 weeks to build, 1-3 weeks for delivery. ect. The time frames have been nowhere that the GM claims. That's what really ticked him. He then started going off on how I "have treated him by riding on him" when in reality I have been only asking for information. He said he didn't appreciate it, and I said to him if he had such a problem then with my spending 38,000 at his dealership than I would take my business elsewhere as well as I was going to give them negative remarks on the post delivery survey after this conversation. That's when he said he would cut me a check for my deposit and to come pick it up. I have been nothing but respectful, and maybe a bit excited for it but that should be expected. All I have asked for is updates on my vehicle and how quickly we can get it. I don't know why he has had the issue he has had, but that isn't my problem.

I totally agree. This is what I sent:

<dealer name>

I stopped by the dealer Friday evening, you had gone home. I spoke with <Director of Internet Sales name> and he told me what an awesome job you are doing, and that you had been trying to get my order information.

I just wanted to thank you for that, and say that I am happy with your fantastic efforts. I do realize sometimes it is hard to get information if it is not directly available to you.

That said, I was able to get what I needed off the forum, and updates. So I will share them with you so you can be up to date.

VIN: 3FA6P0RU8DR303826

Build Date: April 17, 2013

--------------------------

I can hardly wait to hear what his reply will be when he goes in to work today.

I am sure it will be positive, but at this point It won't matter as I am on cloud 9 that my build is scheduled for the 17th !!

Great letter. I would also let them know that they should check the Vehicle Viability Report and if the could email a snap shot of that to you (and maybe have them check it like every Friday). IT should only take them less than a minute.

Captinkirk,

Step back a min and look at the situation. You have been rather hyper about your car on this forum.

You got upset with Cyberdman and caused him to jump on you, so there seems to be a pattern there.

Many of us have waited a long time for our cars, my dealer has not been as forthcoming with information either so after learning from this forum I got the info elsewhere. I doesn't pay to piss off your dealer.

Just take your business elsewhere NEXT time, looks like you may not have that option.

Go in apologize and take delivery of your car,you have waited a long time to have to start over.

Good luck, hope it works out for you

So I may be jumping ship from the Red and going with a White Platinum. My dealer has two that will be here in the next couple weeks (before my Red will even be scheduled and built). Frankly just tired of waiting since we ordered back on Jan 1 and still only have a VIN. We originally were going to get the 2.0T titanium back in Nov until they announced the HyTi. Kinda wish they wouldn't have teased us so long ago with this car. Although I know we're going to love it, we just out grew the Civic long ago and can't wait another month and a half or more for the Red.

Will know more on Monday. Hopefully I'll be changing my VIN on the spreadsheet and taking delivery soon!

Get your facts straight... I was upset with Cyberdman because of the comments left. He never jumped on me per say other than the comment about echos.

Also, I just talked with another someone else who is close to the situation. Apparently the dealership never had an intention on selling me the car. They only wanted to use my information to get the car and because I was on Xplan and could get past the verification system. Their plan was to deny me the car and sell it at a higher profit because the car is so rare and hot! That's why I have been getting the rude treatment. At this point we have a verbal contract for the car to include them accepting payment of my payment for order. So they have to deliver. This person that I talked with said that they were giddy to turn and burn the car and their intention was to never sell it to me at xplan. They needed me to get past the verification system and once that happened, they could care less about me as they wanted to dump me in order to sell the car at a much higher profit. I dont know who I need to talk with at FORD but this process needs to not be legal. I just want my car.

Who is your person close to the situation?

Someone who is on the dealership committee for my area. I cant publicly say. But he is the owner of a few very successful ford dealerships that have won multiple president awards. I reached out to him in an effort to get some help. Had I had known, I would have ordered from one of his dealerships. I would have made the 50 mile trip into Chicago. He's one of the big boys and knows what they are doing.

Last night I joined the ranks of proud Ford Fusion Energi Owners.

I got tired of waiting for the Sterling Grey Energi and decided to pull the trigger on the Tuxedo Black that had been sitting at the dealer for about two week. First Energi sale for this dealer!

Yeah, we knew what we eye getting back in November but were I'm no hurry to order some we knew they weren't being built until after the new year. Didn't realize they wouldn't start until second quarter. :-(

At this point we're sick of the old 2 for Civic with two small kids. Just need a car and white was our second choice all along.

Car is scheduled to arrive at our dealership in the 18th according to Trina on FB, so it won't be long now (I hope).

Today was a fun day! Got to get to know my Fusion and love it !

I'm curious, did your dealer provide a more extensive delivery checkout/orientation process for Hybrid sales? Many of us are completely new to the hybrid experience and a little extra time might be needed to get familiar with the nuances of the vehicle.

My dealer realized that I know more about the car than they do ... They did a quick walkthrough of the main features, but nothing really Hybrid specific. They didn't even know the pump in the trunk could fill the tire with air or that flat fixing stuff. They were looking for a separate fix-o-flat canister :)

I did talk with the Hybrid specialist at the dealership and I was able to ask him some questions. He hasn't worked on a 2013 Hybrid yet (or so he said) and he was saying their hybrids are very reliable and don't come in for repairs.

Yes, but I think that Taylorjd used something like "took one from stock" for a similar case before... I like it better than delivered because the ordered car is still sitting in Mexico!

My car status is "Arrived at Global IV Illinois" which is a major terminal near Chicago. Anybody have experience with knowing Chicago cars final destinations? Just curious if it will move again or if it's done.

If you call CSX, they will tell you the final destination. More than likely it somewhere other than the major terminal. Just means another 24 hours to reshuffle before heading for final destination. At least that was my experience in Houston
