fordpickup
We took home a new 2016 MKX in late October of last year (2016). It's only been five months and there is a surprising amount of wear on the edges of center armrest where the driver and passenger would typically put their arm. Ford said it would replace the armrest, which made me really happy. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a known issue with MKX? Should I expect the same thing to happen again or is this just a fluke (I'd HATE to buy one of those center console covers). I noticed the Edge has a very rounded edge on this part rather than the sharper profile of the MKX. Pic of the driver side as an example is attached. J-150
October? That doesnt look like wear. It looks like an abrasion from a zipper. A zipper that might be found on a winter coat.
MY93SHO
That looks like it's on the side? Without a better picture i agree with J-150, that's not typical wear.
fordpickup
That looks like it's on the side? Without a better picture i agree with J-150, that's not typical wear. It's the very front corner of the arm rest. I can guarantee there are no zippers on the cuffs of any coats we own. Wool yes, zippers, no. twintornados
Ehh, they replaced it under warranty.
MKX1960
That looks more like a defect in the material than wear.
LuxeLincoln
I agree with everyone else, looks like someone "snagged" something on it and abraded the cover.
