Those taillights are weird!

 

And everyone has heard of the tablet screen.  Now we have the plate screen.

I actually like the tail lights.  Always been a fan of the minis.. especially the higher trims and the John Cooper works packages.

Kinda reminds me of the Edsel wagon taillight fail where the arrow is pointing in the wrong direction.

I can actually see why they did that with the tail lights. Mini's styling is kind of painted in a corner by having to look like a Mini. If they change too much, it would harm the brand as so much of it's identity is based on how it is shaped. The lights are a styling element that doesn't rock the boat too much, but can easily identify this as a new model.

I really don't like the new look.  That is the new electric Mini.  It's the one that designed with Great Wall Motors in China.

I have a current Mini and owners of previous generations call them Goldfish face.
