Cglenn
My dealer recommended using a non-Ford extended warranty citing that Ford’s coverage was less comprehensive and that they, Ford, were denying more claims. Strange thing is when I had the dealership quote an extended warranty they quoted Ford premium care but when I actually bought the truck they snuck in EG Assurance at a premium price. When I called them out on it they gave me the above explanation. anyone have any experience with this EG Assurance ? Good/bad/indifferent? I can and will have the dealer change me if needed as. Want the most comprehensive 8 year 150k mile warranty for my new platinum
Flying68
They are getting a higher kickback from EG Assurance. Have them cancel it and get your money back. Shop around online (Ziegler, Flood, etc.) for a Ford ESP or try using joinyaa.com to get a 3rd party quote.
Cglenn
This is what I thought too!! Any input on what the coverage difference is between the two?
j2sys
Also, keep in mind that there's usually a huge profit margin in any extended warranty you buy. Thus the recommendation to compare pricing at Ziegler Ford, Flood Ford, etc. for the Ford OEM ESP - usually, the price a dealer quotes you has a huge profit margin in it, but some choose to sell in volume online at around $50-100 over their cost instead of thousands. Monoman
Granger was selling the Ford ESP for $50 over their cost. I would start there. You can find @GrangerFord on various Ford forums. (ford-trucks is one exampmle)
1972Mach1
I’m going to look into Grainger as well. When I got the paperwork done for my new truck the finance guy of course only showed the price with the payment instead of as a line item. Quick math put the price at north of 4K for an additional three year coverage.
Robin Hood
Flood has always seemed to have the best price.
