The good news for consumers is that Tesla's "price war" is forcing incumbent automakers to speed up implementation of the totally different strategies and approaches that are needed to produce BEV profitably, as in the Ford Mustang Mach-E example that jasonj80 shared.

Good point. Tesla has been pushing others to innovate. Unless Tesla slows down, you have to or you wont be able to compete. I don't think we would have the Mach E if it weren't for the Model Y/3.

And though we haven't seen it yet, I'm willing to bet, the Cybertruck inspired the new Ford EV Pickup coming.

Not questioning your accuracy, but tell us more... is there an article somewhere with details, or... ?

FDBN shows order banks opening for 2023.5 May 5 with a Cold weather package, Body Colored Steel roof. Farley has giving numerous interviews about cost cutting and complexity cutting around electrics even back when the Mach-E was launched they already had planned streamlining of parts for 2022, 2023, 2024 model years. Also to note there isn't anything that is actually a .5 model year they are still technically a 2023 model year but when manufactures call something a .5 model year it is because of some significant running upgrades.
