Do Any Current Ford Products Have ANC?

Recommended Posts

Okay, this admittedly is an obscure topic, but does anyone if Ford still use ANC (Automatic Noise Cancellation) in any of its current products? I had (and still have the most recent) a trio of different C-Max's in the teens and twenties (2 hybrids and one PIH) and I can testify that ANC makes a material difference in a positive way in the NVH inside the car. We also own a '21 Escape hybrid without ANC and the NVH difference with regard to engine noise is notable.

So - do any current Ford products have ANC, or did Ford cost cut the feature into oblivion?

Lincolns have it.

Does that imply that perhaps Ford moved it to be a Lincoln-exclusive feature? Which specific Lincoln models have it?

I don’t think Ford models ever had it - at least not that I remember.  I only know about it on the MKX/Nautilus but I assume it’s on all the Lincoln models.

I think the early 5G Rangers had it. Some complained about faint engine noise coming from the speakers There was talk on Ranger5G forum on how to turn it off. I've never heard it in my '21.

As I mentioned in the OP, the C-Max definitely had it. Not sure about any other Ford product.

But was that ANC or fake engine noise?  Different animals.

Google seems to mention it in Fusion, edge, Mustang and others so maybe it was widely available at one time at least.

I can attest that my 2017 MKZ has it

It appears from your signature that your MKZ is not a hybrid; interesting that Ford appears to have moved away from using ANC in hybrid applications, and as Akirby noted earlier, seems to be using it as a Lincoln feature (quiet flight?).

They must have moved it to be a Lincoln only feature.  My MKZ is whisper quiet even at highway speeds.

The MKZ has it, owner's manual page 249.  "...Active noise control utilizes your vehicle electronics to enhance the acoustic experience"...

I wish I could take away that fake engine noise though.  It likes to "sound" sporty, but acts like a hooker on meth when you push it...
