DeluxeStang
They have an event scheduled, but my guess is it'll just be the new expedition and some other products. I heard someone talking about a "big reveal" but they didn't cite a source so take that with a grain of salt.

It doesn't make much sense to me, but probably because they want more exposure for the product. Because it's LA, it could be some sort of EV/hybrid news. That makes the most sense given the demographic.
Rick73
I’d personally like to see a concept of a hybrid Maverick-based mid-size van; though doubt it will happen this early.

I would like to see a steel roof Mav hybrid to go after Sante Fe

I could see that being really successful. Give it the body from the transit connect/courier if it's compatible because that new overseas design looks great. The smaller Connect and Courier look good for a van, but not as good to me as the latest Custom. I think there is demand for a van smaller than full-size Transit, but needs a high roof option similar to larger vans. Hopefully at least 5’-10” to 6’-0” cargo-area height will be made available. Apologies, I thought it was part of the transit line, but it isn't. I'm talking about this thing, which is very sharp looking for a van. I see a little bit of flex/defender in the design with the boxiness and two tone paint.

I just happen to like the next-to-largest Custom more than the smaller Connect or Courier lines. It just seems it would be a great fit for North America. As far as the rumored upcoming Maverick-based van, dimensions may fit the larger Custom better. Hard to say though if new van is actually all-new and not Custom- or Connect-based. Why reinvent the wheel? If significant tariffs are imposed on Mexican-built vehicles, it may put the whole Maverick-based new van in question. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/feu/en/news/2024/09/16/IAA-2024-overview.html
