Will Ford reveal anything at the LA auto show?

They have an event scheduled, but my guess is it'll just be the new expedition and some other products. I heard someone talking about a "big reveal" but they didn't cite a source so take that with a grain of salt.

On the flip side, why bother scheduling an event to show something they already revealed?

It doesn't make much sense to me, but probably because they want more exposure for the product.  Because it's LA, it could be some sort of EV/hybrid news. That makes the most sense given the demographic.

I’d personally like to see a concept of a hybrid Maverick-based mid-size van; though doubt it will happen this early.

I could see that being really successful. Give it the body from the transit connect/courier if it's compatible because that new overseas design looks great.

Did we ever find out what the event was?

Did you mean European Transit Custom?  Not sure what you meant.  The smaller Connect and Courier look good for a van, but not as good to me as the latest Custom.  I think there is demand for a van smaller than full-size Transit, but needs a high roof option similar to larger vans.  Hopefully at least 5’-10” to 6’-0” cargo-area height will be made available.

Apologies, I thought it was part of the transit line, but it isn't. I'm talking about this thing, which is very sharp looking for a van. I see a little bit of flex/defender in the design with the boxiness and two tone paint.

I think Ford does call them all part of Transit family.  I just happen to like the next-to-largest Custom more than the smaller Connect or Courier lines.  It just seems it would be a great fit for North America.  As far as the rumored upcoming Maverick-based van, dimensions may fit the larger Custom better.  Hard to say though if new van is actually all-new and not Custom- or Connect-based.  Why reinvent the wheel?

If significant tariffs are imposed on Mexican-built vehicles, it may put the whole Maverick-based new van in question.
