  2. Because of the huge increase in factory liners due to more special orders (dealers almost never ordered this for stock vehicles opting to let the customer do it or do it for them at purchase time) Ford did put commodity holds on it. If they didn’t do that there might be a 3 month backup of built vehicles waiting for bedliner.

  3. Well today is day #46 since I received this email. And I'm being nice and not counting July 1st when I received it, otherwise it would be day 47. Nothing from Ford, nothing from my dealer. It would take one of their summer IT interns 10 minutes to write a bot that would send these emails and they can't even do that. I bought my first Ford (71 Mustang) a month after I turned 16. I've owned 2 Explorers and 4 F150s since then. But I'm tired of waiting and not getting any younger. I'm going to see what options are available from the dreaded competitors.

  4. In Taycan's case, the range difference is mainly attributable to difference size wheels. Turbo and Turbo S has bigger standard wheel than 4 and 4S so the unsprang weight causes the range to go down. The relationship between power and range in ICE is a tradeoff. You increase one side and the other side decrease. It is not the case in EV. You want more range, you increase the battery size, which generates higher peak output.

  5. WOW, talk about sticker shock. I'm going to be really glad I bought the Maintenance Contract!!! Bought 3 gallons today to change the oil in the challenger and two generators. Walked out of the auto parts store, $150 lighter. When I was evaluating maintenance contract, I asked one local shop the cost to change oil and filters, the price I was quoted equaled the cost of the maintenance contract. That sold it for me... now given raw oil costs, me thinks I'm going to be happy. Not one to ever trust a shop to do even simple oil changes, but we're planning to be traveling a LOT, and I'm not dragging oil changing equipment with me around the country.

  6. Liability and contracts. Dealers can’t even pick up vehicles from the local rail yard. There are processes and procedures and contracts with the transport companies.
