  1. New Prius definitely hits the mark on better design/look. The previous one has odd and ugly looking thing with some very amatuer efforts on detailing and surfacing treatments. The JDM model also got a massive power boost so it should actually be decent to drive for the first time ever. The Corolla hybrid is taking the place of the old Prius and feels like Toyota is moving Prius up the performance scale. Sort of like how Corolla Cross allowed RAV4 to move up market.

  2. If you ordered a pickup it will be built in Kentucky. Chassis cabs are built in Ohio. Ford takes into account numerous factors when scheduling a build, order of receipt is only one of them. It starts with your dealer and how many orders they have in front of you as well as the priority your dealer put on your order. Your dealer can set priority from 10 to 19, with 10 being higher priority. Ford takes into account a dealer's allocation and priority orders. They then look to see if during the week they are scheduling for they they will have all the parts to build the order. If they don't have parts, the truck doesn't get scheduled. My understanding is that Ford builds stock orders until they have gone 5 days without an assembly error before they start building retail orders. If I'm correct on that then it's not likely any retail orders will be built the first week of Job 1. You might want to spend some time scanning posts in the 2022 Orders thread most anything you can think to ask has been covered multiple times somewhere in the 460 pages. Good luck!

  3. Looks much better to me than previous Prius, especially the back.

  4. Even if it improves to 60 MPG, your only going to see roughly 2-5% improvement in gas usage or MPG. As MPG increase, the amount of savings you see gets flatter when you hit 30+ MPG.

  5. New Prius claimed to be most fuel efficient hybrid in its class; and looks better than previous Prius or newest Corolla in my opinion. It looks quite low and aero, so may achieve 60 MPG. Not much data was revealed, other than plug-in has 50% more electric range, and able to accelerate to 62 MPH in 6 seconds. Not bad for an ECO car.

  6. Again, with normal allocations that’s not a problem. Shop wherever you get the best deal. But you run the risk of the dealer not having enough allocation to fill your order. if you want orders built first in first out regardless of dealer there has to be some way to prevent one dealer from monopolizing orders. Maybe Ford restricts online orders to all or part of a dealer’s allocation and once that’s reached you have to choose a different dealer. That still allows free market pricing and allows smaller dealers to get all retail orders scheduled while still giving allocation to all dealers and preventing one dealer from monopolizing orders.

  9. I would have preferred to trade so I could save some money on sales tax. However, the BMW dealers really low-balled me on trade-in value. I advertised the car on Autotrader and other sites and every dealer in the Minneapolis area contacted me. I didn't get a single contact from an individual, though. I sold the car to the Lincoln dealer from whom I originally purchased it. They paid me $6000 more than the BMW dealer offered on trade. That more than made up for any tax savings.
