Well Twitter is blocked at my job but just got the following Text messages: Flex Ecoboost ran a 14.5 at 96 MPH in the 1/4 mile The MKS Ecoboost ran a 13.9 at 104 MPH in the 1/4 Hmm nice numbers!

Well the estimated numbers for the SHO are pretty disappointing...its a V6 with near V8 like MPG numbers. Though in the other applications, it still gets the same MPG as a AWD 3.5L V6

Diesel are very dirty in other ways...they also produce alot of soot You can't have your cake and eat it too

You forget the fact that the Camry and Accord where roughly the size of a Focus when they came on to the market in the 1970/1980s and grew to their current sizes of Mid-sized sedans in the past 20 years. Both Ford and GM sold plenty of those little shitboxes in the 1980s (IIRC the Escort sold in the 200-400K range at the time) Come the start of the 1990's, Gas was cheap again and the demand was for SUVs and Trucks and thats where the profits where. Thus the rot that got Ford into trouble at the start of this century...but Guess what? Toyota was trying so hard to become the biggest Automaker in the world they repeated the same mistakes that GM has been making and lost 7 BILLON dollars this year so far. Lets also not forget the fact there are many more players in the market now then their was back then.

As a whole, we don't like smaller cars...you also forget that cars are ingrained into the American psyche as part of the "American Dream" and having a big car/truck is part of "making it"....Plus we also think that cheap gas or fuel is a god given right to us. Not matter if you think its right or wrong, thats just way things are here. Personally I'm looking forward to how they go about making these standards...should be exciting and hopefully won't be as bad as the last time we went through this crap in the late 1970s and 1980's

Then why parrot that is going to happen? Ford is in much better shape then the other two which is a huge plus. We know that it could happen, but we don't need be reminded by a negative Nancey that it might. We might all die tomorrow, but why worry about it?

I'm also surprised that I haven't seen any Ford Dealerships in my area close...I have just over a million people in the two Counties I live in and I haven't seen any dealerships close up...and I have something like 7 dealerships within a 20 mile ride of where I live.
