  1. Looks like a CGI based on the Jaguar. Funny how we assume everybody else will have the same likes or dislikes as ourselves.
  2. Outside the Ford North America, all the other Ford Regions actually make profits. I have no problem with profitable divisions increasing capacity and strengthening their market share. It's only natural that you build more plants in expanding markets and close down unprofitable ones.
  3. It's Friday 9.30 am here now and the first session is starting. Unfortunately, I still have 4 1/2 hours left at work, finish at 2pm. BTW, I think this should be Ford's creed : ROCKY BALBOA: IT AIN´T ABOUT HOW HARD YOU HIT ...
  4. Opens in our local Cinema today (in Australia). Gotta love American hero features.
  5. More confirmation for Ford that Ecoboost (GDIT) is the way to go.
  6. At the moment, there is a big gap between Ranger's width at approx 71" and F150 at approx 79". I can see how there would be room in the market to offer three different truck with smaller size increments. If the F100 is a reach down from the F150, it's possible that a mid width truck (76") may win a lot of people who want a reasonable dual cab or long bed but don't want to tow huge loads. It also gives the customer a sense of Ford desigining trucks specifically for them - a personal connection?
  7. Nope T6 is the same size as Tacoma as well. I'm confused, it looks like two trucks on the drawing board that are almost exactily the same.
  8. There's a real sense of deja vu with that one and maybe they renegotiate contracts to Chinese and Indian suppliers. Dumping your existing suppliers is far worse than beating them up.
  9. The tarriff don't apply to contries with Free Trade Agreements. Unfortunately, there are so many FTAs now that importers can get around the tarriffs at will. South American countries springs to mind.... Having a US Ranger as a smaller F150 sibling is a natural and logical step.

    08 Focus

I know for a fact, in other parts of the world, less than a Mazda 3. Similarly , in the rest of the world the Mondeo is less than the Mazda 6. FNA have done a good job. While most people fixate on headlights/grille, the rest of the body contours are moving towards the the styling of the world Focus. What people will notice is the C1 is more internal width, it makes a big difference to space. C170-2 is mid step towards C1 internal width.

    08 Focus

Truth to tell, the people who actually buy the Focus would happily buy either of the two above.
  12. Nah, leave the speed limits alone rising gas prices is changing people's ways more than anything else.
  13. Escape 2.5 6-speed auto goes like last year's V6 4 speed auto but also increases it's fuel economy. Good move Ford!
  14. A lot of thing are changing in US OBD Emissions. As of 2008 manufacturers are now required to run the Euro ISO Standard CAN BUS (Controller Area Network bus). With that change, moving to bulk supplies from European manufacturers (like Bosch) can be justified.
  15. That's all well and good but in another thread Blue II said they tested the engine already with DOHC VCT and PFI for 420 hp.
  16. Aussie built 5.4 4Vs are making those numbers today but suffer in bottom end torque compared to the 6.0 and 6.2 GM V8s. If Ford fixed up the 4V cam drives so VCT was possible, a huge lift in bottom end torque would happen.
  17. Last month's impressive sales figures and buyer satisfaction. No amount of negativity can dispel those two facts.
  18. Your linked post mentions a NA 5.4 with 400 hp, did you mean 5.0 or 5.4? The "Bobcat" blown 4.6 with CGI block sounds interesting too!!!
  19. In India, the Ford KA is probably considered a 7 seater SUV.
  20. This whole thread is based on the belief that Tracinda can and will get control of Ford. I'll believe that when I see it.
  21. It's pretty hard to integrate kinetic straight into Bold American without some panel changes. The Falcon's nose rolls over so maybe a new hood and front guards are needed to meet a higher front. New Falcon advertising campaign has just started:
  22. Hmm, maybe Ford is starting to gap its two Detroit competitors. They certainly have bought peace on their side of the Canadian industry. Strikes and stoppages could really wreck GM and Chrysler in a subdued market like this. While the two work out what they're gonna do, Ford marches on with the recovery plan. Perhaps Ford are now more efficient internally and becoming more like Toyota in cost structure. Maybe Mulally is a "Wascally Wabbitt!" after all!!
  23. There is a clause stopping that very action: While this applies to the corporation, I'm pretty sure it extends to major stock transactions that could be viewed in the same light as sale/merger/liquidation.
  24. I know it's a CGI but there are always alternatives: Courtesy of www.cgiautomotive.com
