  1. There's no touch up paint that Ford sells, just go to auto parts store that carries Dupli-Color paints and see which wheel paint matches your wheels. Most Ford painted wheel are the same color. Advanced Auto has it.
  2. Better then the 3.5 upgrade amd tidbit minor upgrades??
  3. I don't understand the thumb touching the button silvrsvt? Is it because he touches it too soon..??
  4. I loved this part of the article. Ford is also planning another downloadable MyFord Touch upgrade this summer that will simplify some features and streamline some consumer-reported issues. From The Detroit News: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130617/AUTO0102/306170086#ixzz2WVcTOv4P
  5. Any survey from your dealership like Sales Mgr or Service Mgr is just a feeler for what you think as to their service. Ford surveys will have a non-email return and a survey completion ending with a survey number.
  6. Super nice vehicle. I wish I could get that front grill on my Limited..
  7. I think they are talking about regular SYNC without MFT/Sony radio and then the MFT with Sony radio along with Nav if ordered.
  8. I test drove a 2.0 Taurus back in Nov and was not impressed with it at all. The 2.0 is just not enough motor for the Taurus, as I had to use much more gas pedal in keeping it moving in traffic. I then drove the 3.5 V-6 and that made all the difference in the world. The 3.5 this years model is a snappy motor, and transmission is very smooth. I been reading all the posting on gas mileage on 1.6 and 2.0 Eco boosts and we get 23.5 -24.5 mpg around town and 30 mpg out on open roads. I think the 2.0 EB might do better on open highways, but in town, I don't think it could match my average in town mpg.
  9. Just before we got rid of our 2012 Focus I found out that my Conti back tires were wore out and would not pass inspection. The front tires were 1/32 from being junk also.. We had 13,000 miles on them, and they had been rotated 3,000 miles, 8,000 miles and finally at 13,000, which we traded it in. Continental wanted to give us a 50% replacement costs on all 4 tires.
  10. The 302A package does not have the Sirius Module installed..Why it isn't is beyond my thinking..
  11. Starting in October, new transmission control code was rolled out quietly. There's no official recall or service campaign, but anybody who complains or requests an upgrade at the dealership can have their powertrain control computer re-flashed. I posted awhile back that the Oct. re-flash did help our shifting problem quite well. That said the above statement amazes me why Ford wouldn't have been more aggressive in getting this matter corrected and telling the customers as to a fix. I guess you complain enough someone might hear you. The only question that I have...gas mileage is down about 1-1.5 mpg.. I'm not complaining...
  12. Being one with the dreaded shifting and what gear is it in now on start off. I had the latest update done about 4-5 weeks ago. I haven't commented about it till we had some miles and time on the new upgrade. The car now start off in low gear and shifts at a higher rpm and much firmer. You can step down on the gas about half pedal and it jumps down into 3rd gear, sort of like passing gear on the 4 sp automatics, only a little softer... Overall the car runs much better, with only one draw back, and that's the mileage around town, it's about a mile or so off compared to before the reflash..The shudder upon stopping is still there, but we never had the real bad shudder as some have complained on here.. 4700 miles on the Focus at present.
  13. Sure am glad Mr Ed that you never had any serious problems with your car buys...I'd love to read your story if you were to wear the shoe on the other foot....By the way, *NO FIX* is what I got from the Ford dealership today, so what should or could I do here Ed...??
  14. Ford knew about this problem way back into the launch of the Focus, they treated as if you ignore the problem it will go away..So far there is no fix out there, just talk. I'm waiting for dealer CS to call me so I can get this fix...since June..
  15. Ford made this video recently? "I didn't hear the "click" and "more you drive it the smoother it gets"..Got to love Ford for making this video, sort of like the old Navy films on VD..
  16. MFT isn't the main issue that Ford has had lately. Again, your either satisfied or not with a product. Also, customer service falls into play, and Ford has gotten sloppy as to good customer service and how it should work for the customers.
  17. I can see this topic taking on "Ford believers" VS "non believers". I have to agree with Borg, other then I wouldn't buy any Lincoln product out now, so with going back to Ford products and getting burned on a new vehicle, I don't blame anyone that puts out a chuck of money on a vehicle getting pissed at Ford or whatever auto maker when something is brought to market and it's a flop. You either fix a problem or redeem the costs back to the customer. In some cases buy backs, You either like what you bought or dislike it, simple fact...Yes, Ford has shot their foot off as to quality assurance.
  18. Owning a 2012 Focus and comparing it to our 08 trade in, Ford better stay with at least the 1.6 engine, or better yet the 2.0. I can say that the 08 was a much quicker car and got just as much or maybe a bit better gas mileage then the 2012. As for the handling and looks the 2012 is a hit in my books. You put a 1.0 liter engine and this dual clutch transmission that's out at present and you'll have a nightmare of a small car. This Focus keeps getting heavier all the time and small under powered motors do not make good gas mileage.. I suggest Ford get their act together, as to the other car manufactures out there and their products they are producing sellable vehicles.. Why has it taken Ford so long to get a Eco-boost 1.6 or 2.0 out here in the market???
  19. 22051 (AWARENESS) CALIBRATION UPDATE - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE DRIVABILITY IMPROVEMENTS - BUILT ON ON BEFORE 8/12/2011 SOME 2012 FOCUS VEHICLES BUILT ON OR BEFORE 8/12/2011 MAY EXHIBIT VARIOUS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE DRIVABILITY CONCERNS. THE VEHICLE MAY ALSO EXHIBIT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTC) U0422, P00D2, P068A, P0850, P2610, P2832, P286F OR P2877. ATTEMPTING TO REFLASH THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WITH IDS RELEASE 74.05 OR 75.01 WILL RESULT IN A NO CRANK/NO START CONDITION AND SHOULD NOT BE PERFORMED AT THIS TIME. CONTINUE TO MONITOR OASIS FOR UPDATES. EFFECTIVE DATE: 09/16/2011 Had mine lock in 1st gear and wouldn't shift up. Had to pull it in and out of D to get it going. Talk about a safety issue when traffic is coming up behind you. I take it Ford knows about this as the above states "drivability concerns"..It's time Ford fixes this problem....
  20. No it's not possesed, it just a shitty dual clutch transmission. Way too many complaints, shudder seems to be a norm for this tranny, plus the crappy shifting.. Good luck having Ford do a "fix" on it.. There's another thread on this topic..It will give you some info as to other Focus owner complaints.
  21. It's a hit and miss, mostly a miss on our SEL also. Have not heard any chimes, just the yellow warning light on the tach side of the cluster. Our 2008 was flawless on low fuel warnig light.
  22. This thread is quite interesting and confusing. We all have the same instrument readout display on all models of the 2012 Focus. BUT, we all have different out comes and most so far including myself have NO readout or warning indicator to say "low fuel". So what's the problem, how does this Euro thing come into play? It sounds to me as if Ford isn't installing the correct sensor or sensors..If the manual says there's one, then we all should have "low fuel" indicator that works.
  23. I guess Ford wants us to just use the SOL light that goes off in our heads then. 25 miles to empty is way too close for me. We were trying to get the low fuel light on and was in town with gas stations on every corner so that's how we found out.
  24. I have to concur as to no idiot light or warning for low fuel. We've gone down as to 25 miles left on the display and no warning light. 08 Focus had it, why not the 2012?
