  1. Oh, by the way... UBER just got a big "F" from the Better Business Bureau. http://jalopnik.com/uber-just-got-a-failing-grade-from-the-better-business-1645622537 I guess people are starting to wake up and realize what kind of a ponzi scheme this company really is made of.
  2. Crossover? Doesn't the entire auto market have enough of these annoying "crossover" vehicles? I hate that term and the looks of most of these types of vehicles anyway.
  3. I wouldn't mind seeing a modernized version of a Ranchero type vehicle. Especially when you are loading appliances like washers, dryers, refridgerators, etc. in & out of it all the time. It would definitely have it's niche market and it would be easier for folks who do have existing knee/back and other medical ailments also. Yes, there is a benefit to it but would would the ultimate design be based off? Nobody knows, but like I said...just to have another choice for a vehicle out there for Ford should be considered.
  4. But Toyota got caught with the floor mat fiasco, sudden acceleration resulting in multiple deaths nationwide. How many deaths were related to diesel engine failures on the 6.0 Navistar Diesel? Answer that question bud... :fan:
  5. They figure, their buyers will just not change the oil anyway (Only because they are either too cheap, too lazy or too unknowledgeable). Problem will solve itself!
  6. A lot of new cars are ugly... but I think I said that back in the late 90's...
  7. Maybe they'll advertise this RWD version on a commercial spinning around on a turntable with dancing robot arms. Anybody sick and tired of seeing that commercial yet?
  8. Still, I would have to agree with him from his perspective. There is no reason why the last of the late model Lincoln Town Cars would have that same plastic wheel cover look on those cars also. It cheapens the overall experience, but then again...Paying $70,000 for a truck is truly overboard IMHO.
  9. 5 brands I won't buy period. #1. Toyota (including Lexus, Scion) #2. Mercedes-Benz (too high maintenance) #3. Nissan (any of them) #4.Subaru (other reasons) #5.BMW (also too high maintenance) I could list more, but a lot of them would end up being in a tie for #1.
  10. I don't know what to say about this situation. Even though I am not in the market for a truck for the time being. My opinion is that it may have to do with the extra time involved with the metal composition of the truck itself. Aluminum is obviously a softer metal than steel, that we can agree on, but that aluminum as it's pressed needs to not have any sizeable dings, minute cracks in it, etc. That'll kill the deal right off the bat (from a buyer's perspective at least). And that's talking about a brand new, model year vehicle.
  11. It's definitely a win across the board. Now if I can only find another one of those Lincolns in nice shape from that mid to late 1980's generation. I miss the few I had over the years.
  12. Even going back to that remarkable mlhm5 thread, I posted a picture of "Otto" the inflatable auto-pilot from AIRPLANE! Nick replied..."New avatar time!" Great sense of humor, and wit. God bless.
  13. I'm just stunned to hear this news, I was here to post a eulogy for James Garner, but to hear this makes it twice as sad. Going back to the mlhm5 thread, Nick replied that "The Rockford Files" theme song was one of his favorites. God speed Nick, say hello to Mr. Rockford for me.
  14. If you people think this UBER boondoogle is gonna be the holy grail for your transportation services? guess again. They do have their limitations and boundries in their selected coverage areas and when the demand for those vehicles to pick up their "unsuspecting customers" is high, guess what? You'll be paying more, THAT'S RIGHT... MORE! for your transportation. And not only that, these drivers... How experienced are they when the drive in all kinds of road conditions, weather, all hours of the day, night. Traffic patterns, etc? UBER has an agenda and it is to eliminate private ownership of vehicles and push everyone into ride-sharing. It is gonna fail, and those of you who do not see the writing on the wall, better get your heads out of the sand real quick!
  15. Cheap isn't a word I'd personally like to use. I spent $300 on a conversion kit just to go back to coil springs/shocks. Whenever I get around to replacing the shocks, I'll opt for the old style inflatable, self-adjusting air shocks. That way I can adjust how much pressure I prefer to keep the rear end and it would ride just like it would with those air springs. At up to $500 a side, the air springs just were not worth it.
  16. Don't forget now, make sure you check the headlight fluid at all times! Add as necessary, and especially the same time as the windshield washer fluid as well.
  17. Several years ago, I can remember somebody on this site starting up a thread called "The New Crapmaro is Garbage" It seem as though that line seemed a little prophetic to me at the time. I knew GM would eventually drop the ball on some quality issue with that car along the way... Just pump out a new version of a resurrected corpse and sell them like hotcakes at IHOP. That's pretty much what their business is nowadays. ""
  18. "Maybe there should be a 4-door Viper too!" Yeah, Look how ridiculous a 4-door Porsche is, that's if you seen them.
  19. If somebody is willing to use WD-40 to clean bugs (and aluminum rims by the way...works good!), if they can use the WD-40, what about "fabulous blaster?" I mean, that lubricant is much more powerful than WD-40, especially on rusty bolts and nuts! Any volunteers? Try it out and get back with us on a progress report.
  20. I just wonder how much it would cost to replace the strut towers on both sides, if you own a low mileage Taurus... Might be worth the investment (if you want to call it that)
  21. GM always has a strategy, keep producing cars regardless of any defects in workmanship, materials or engineering. Seems as though the only things that change over there are the faces and the bodies. Otherwise, everything remains the same.
