  1. Thanks! Looking forward to reveal to see all the info. The description in that linked video, as well as shown at the end of the video, points to a page on Ford's site regarding new info about new Ranger. I'm guessing they'll just post all the info including videos at once on that page rather than a live/pre-taped-and-edited reveal event. https://www.ford.com/rangerready/
  2. Spot on once again! It's brilliant of Ford to run a quick 15-second 'announcement' ad during the Kentucky Derby that Ford sponsors. Lots of audience viewing the ads prior to the actual Derby horse race. I'm just an hour and half south-east of Louisville in Kentucky, so this is awesome that Ford chose this race to announce the new Ranger reveal. Of course, Ford also build the Super Duty trucks and the Expedition/Navigator at KTP and the Escape/Corsair at LAP in Louisville. But you all already know this. lol So it makes sense for Ford to sponsor the Kentucky Derby races.
  3. I agree. I would love to see the return of the hatchback since the S650 has some Fox Body styling cues such as the headlights resembling the pre-1987 Fox and the interior dash/center console pieces, etc. The ability to have the sporty hatchback with back seats folded down would add to practicality of sorts. Then to have that for the potential off-road variant to compete with the likes of Porsche 911 Dakar is a brilliant idea! Especially with how popular the Mustang is in Europe. I have always liked the old 911 rally cars and liked how Porsche done with the new 911 Dakar. Can't wait to see how the Mustang Raptor (not sure if they'll call it this) turns out. Apparently Ford really is working on this then.
  4. Configurator is already up! ? https://shop.lincoln.com/build/nautilus/2024/model/customize/standard/
  5. Can't find a way to stream the reveal at 7pm. Seems like it will be an event of some kind since they specifically said New York City. Or will it just be a short edited video dropped along with embargo lifted?
  6. Whoa!! ? I didn't think we would see anything this early but an order guide is already out. Thanks!! So they're already taking orders of it last week even though customers haven't seen nor heard anything about it? Or did you mean that order banks open this Friday? But thanks so much for all this. Looks like the Edge gets the 2024 extension while the current Nautilus ends as a 2023 with the new imported one as 2024.
  7. I'm actually looking forward to seeing it and learning more about it. Maybe there will be some leaks before the debut with additional pictures and even some tidbits. I do wonder where we can stream the debut event.
  8. Not gonna lie but that's sure is a nice one!! ? The front styling along with the placement of the door handles. It's sharp! I do hope that's the legit Nautilus that's coming here. I have thought that the current Lincoln front styling was one of the best in decades. It's been around for 7-8 model years, I think, and it still looks good and fresh today. However, this new front look is very nice. Hopefully it gets shared onto the updated Aviator and all-new Navigator soon.
  9. Oh, I hope the rumors aren't bad, such as possible closure of LAP once the currently-undergoing nearby battery plant goes online. As a Kentuckian, I would hate to think something like that happening to LAP or any auto plants in the state, regardless of manufacturers. I think LAP will eventually be for the affordable 'CE1' BEVs later this decade while continuing to build the Escape and Corsair in lower numbers for the next few years. I'm sure I'm wrong though. I remember that too and the uproar that came with it. Especially after Ford halted building a new plant in Mexico which would have built the new Focus. Then they decided to abandon that plan and instead import from China. If I remember correctly, all this happened before Ford even announced the Ranger and Bronco production at MAP.
  10. I wasn't aware that it had a mid-engine layout too until I read above. Here's an article about it. I didn't even know it was rear drive too! ? https://www.motorbiscuit.com/toyota-previa-mid-engine-supercar-also-van-sort-of/
  11. I agree. I have been hoping that the Econoline would return with the cabover style, like a modern version of the first generation Falcon Econoline. What better way to do that than with the upcoming BEV architecture? The TE1/GE2 enables cab forward design and packaging, which would easily accommodate a cabover style van. The Econoline EV could be done for the passion vanning life with Transit Trail as the ICE van passion Icon. In the meantime, the Econoline E-Series Cutaway can continue on as ICE commercial cutaway van as part of the expanded Econoline family. Back to the T3 though, I look forward to see what Ford has planned for the TE1 'T3' F-Series truck. They are certain to hit a home run with this.
  12. Oh absolutely! Note that I'm not faulting Ford on the Chinese importation issue at all. It's that the world has undergone so much changes the past few years through no fault of Ford at all. I know Ford would want to build as many vehicles in North America as possible. Ford seemingly has a good relationship with UAW with even Bill Ford backing it. I had meant that I was hoping that UAW could convince Ford to find a plant to build the new Nautilus as soon as possible without any importation at all. I also forgot to mention in my previous post that it may be possible the Chinese importation could be a very temporarily thing until the American-built version starts production. Hopefully Ford and UAW can reach a solution on this when they start talks later. Yes, I agree. As I mentioned above, I think it's possible the importation would be one or two model years until American production starts. We'll see what happens.
  13. I noticed that too. lol ? I'm really hoping that the UAW would convince Ford to build it in Louisville alongside the Escape and Corsair since that plant has the capacity to build all three. While I do get their reasoning to import from China from a cost-cutting standpoint at least, it really would be good to build it here if they can. I do wonder how the general public and auto journalists would feel about importation from China, with what's been going on. Sure some Buicks and Volvos are imported from there, but that was done before the issues cropped up the past few years. Exactly, the political issues regarding China and I would imagine this could cause a strain between talks with UAW later too. That's a good point. Some insiders here would have already mentioned info regarding specifics of plant locations and all that by now. Thanks for that media link. It's now on Lincoln's FB page too, including their Story.
  14. Was that posted on Lincoln's FB page? I don't see it there. But I guess this does confirm what Borg said. I wonder why they didn't use the New York Auto Show as a venue of reveal.
  15. Borg posted on GMI yesterday that the new North American Lincoln Nautilus will be revealed this Monday with a teaser dropped today. He mentioned the teaser would show the wraparound dashboard design.
  16. There will definitely be de-contenting for sure. Possibly reduced trim lines too. It would be nice if they offer a cheesy limited farewell edition of sorts as they send the final MY ICE Edge/Nautilus into the sunset. lol But it's good that Ford announced info about OAC plans today. It's possible you may still be able to work there when the re-tooling is complete or you could even help during the re-tooling process itself.
  17. I think the still photos used in YouTube videos are generated by YouTube's algorithm or AI tech. So the still photo for this particular video may have been taken by the generated YouTube tech during the scene while the camera on the factory floor was panning from side to side. So the quick snapshot by YouTube caused the distortion of the still photo to make it look like the updated E-Series was being previewed. There was nothing discussed in the video at all about an updated E-Series nor any indications of such in the title and description. So I doubt it was intentional for clickbaiting purposes. I wouldn't know since I only replied to the video regarding the mistake in video description (Toyota instead of Ford). I don't work at the plant nor in general manufacturing whatsoever. I'm sure those here who do could chime in and properly answer though.
  18. Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. The 'Frame' channel uploader made a mistake in the description by saying that it was Toyota instead of Ford. lol
  19. My post you quoted sure didn't age well. lol ? That post was made before the reveal. While I like the new EV, I was shocked that the MEB-based EV shown will have the singular 'Explorer' name. I did read elsewhere after the reveal that the larger MEB-based, also to be made at Cologne next year, will be called 'Explorer Sport'. That's odd if they chose to do that. Seems like the small one that has been revealed would have the 'Sport' name attached and the larger yet-to-be-revealed be the singular named 'Explorer'. That is, if they wanted to even leverage the Explorer name for those two. But I now realize that Explorer was a mistake to use for those two in the European market. The upcoming Canadian-made Explorer EV could have been exported to Europe to give customers there the Explorer EV. I also agree with you about European Ford names would have been better used for the two MEB-based EVs. My guess is that Farley chose to do the new breakdown reporting format this early to provide transparency to the investors and please Wall Street. I can kinda see his thinking with the decision to do this now. We'll see how this new reporting format this early goes for Ford.
  20. I like it! It looks nice and fresh and the interior is really impressive! I missed the live reveal but did see the well-edited version of the reveal that's shown in the same YouTube link. I think it will do well in Europe. Surprised about the singular 'Explorer' name though. Looks like Ford is reverting back to the regional basis of sales with the naming, design, and packaging as they did before with Escort, Ranger, Focus, etc. As long as they do good enough marketing for the Explorer sub-branding, confusion should be kept to a minimum. Agreed about naming, which I think will still be the case with North American GE2 version. I like the design and the interior too. I think they will do good with this. There were lots of Fords throughout the years that had two products with same names but I can't remember of any with three. I think the Explorer may be the first. Sounds logical to me especially from marketing standpoint. There was also the F-Series from 1970s that had Explorer and Ranger trim lines before those two were later re-used as separate model names. The same with Ranger Edge, which was a nice sporty truck with monochromatic colors. The new Explorer EV is shorter than the Edge but Explorer Edge, if sold here, would be a good name for it. It likely won't so the singular Explorer name is good enough for Europe.
  21. My guess is that the European MEB-based EV will be 'Explorer Sport' and North American version will be 'Explorer xx' with a different second name. I doubt the Sport name would be used on the Oakville-made one if the EV would be 3-row seating, which is a given. Perhaps simply 'Explorer E' or something to denote that it's an EV while the ICE Explorer lives on for as long as Ford plans to keep making it. I'm sure Ford has a plan to further expand the 'Explorer' into a sub-brand as part of its Icon vehicles. Wouldn't be the first time as they did with Explorer Sport and Explorer Sport Trac in the past.
  22. Yeah I had thought about that too regarding the ability to build all three at capacity at LAP. It still could have been done. However, I do think Ford underestimated the demand and success of the Maverick and even the Bronco Sport. I didn't even think about the lower costs of building the BS in Mexico as well as exporting to other markets from there. Good points on that. With Farley's recent comments regarding the Escape, perhaps the BS could be built at LAP as an overflow plant, in addition to Escape and Corsair. The BS's mid-cycle update would be a good time to do that. But I don't think they'll do that if LAP is likely to be converted into EV plant later this decade, according to an insider or two. At least Ford is committed to building more of Maverick, BS, and Mach-E at their respective Mexican plants to meet demand. We'll see...
  23. Agreed. It would have made sense to build the Bronco Sport in Louisville where the Escape and Corsair are made. I do think the LAP has plenty of production capacity to be able to build all three. This would free up Hermosillo Plant for Maverick and the new North American Transit Connect, which was itself going to be based on the Maverick. I do think, if I'm not mistaken, there were plans to do it this way before it was changed/canceled.
  24. What happened to the other posts here? A separate thread regarding 'synthetic fuels vs bevs' or just 'synthetic fuels' could have been made and the synthetic fuels posts here be moved there. Did I miss something? Edit: Nevermind for my confusion, this is the new separate thread regarding the synthetic fuels vs BEVs. The original 'perpetual future Ford products' thread can be found here... https://blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/67722-perpetual-future-ford-products-thread/
