  1. Interesting. I figured the Escape would stay at LAP until its end later in decade (or whenever they planned). If it's moving to Mexico, then what would be built at LAP in its place, do you know?
  2. That's actually a good question. It could be that Stellantis wants to simplify their brand offering in North America. This would be a way to do it. I would guess Fiat may be the next to go as well.
  3. Looks like we both called it: it's a coupe!! ? It does look like it could hint at Mustang EV. I like it. Will make its debut at Pebble Beach this weekend.
  4. It's the Lincoln Model L100 Concept revealed at Pebble Beach. A homage to the 1922 Lincoln Model L as part of brand's 100th anniversary celebration. It's got the long hood/short deck coupe look. Could this also be a hint of Mustang coupe EV in terms of basic silhouette design?? ? ? Has 4 seats with odd opening doors and roof, which is typical with concept cars. I like it and can't wait to see what Lincoln has planned for its EVs. https://media.lincoln.com/content/lincolnmedia/lna/us/en/news/2022/08/18/lincoln-model-l100-concept-reveal.html https://www.motortrend.com/events/lincoln-model-l100-concept-first-look-review/ https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/lincoln-model-l100-concept-monterey-pebble-beach/ https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/lincoln-model-l100-concept/

  6. Yes! Right after my previous post here, I later went back and watched the preview video on Lincoln's FB page again. I set the video to run very slow and paused it. Took an interesting screenshot and you're right! Fastback roofline with curvy sides/hips. Perhaps it's a crossover but with sports car look. Mark IX? That would fit with your Thunderbird EV suggestion (didn't realize Ford was working on that project at some point) since the Mark VII and Mark VIII of the 80s and 90s were based on the then-Thunderbird. Wouldn't it be funny if it is indeed a sporty-car-styled crossover and Lincoln is doing this to take the new Charger EV's attention away from press? lol It could possibly just be the upcoming Aviator EV with the sporty styling cues though... which would still be good.
  7. Looks like Lincoln will be revealing its EV concept tonight at 8pm Eastern time. I was confused at first because they already revealed the STAR concept last spring. I think this may be the Aviator EV concept? https://fordauthority.com/2022/08/lincoln-ev-concept-teased-ahead-of-imminent-reveal/
  8. I understand what you were saying and I think most of us here do too. Each trims on the F-150 and Bronco have few option packages (Mid, High, Lux, for example) which could pretty much be applied to F-150's 300A (base), 301A (Mid), 302A (High), etc. But the Escape trimlines list on the table had them split out purely for comparison purposes of the old Escape trims to the new Escape trims. I do think it will be Base, Active, ST-Line (with few separate option packages), and Platinum. But the table split out the few ST-Line packages separately to compare with previous Escape trim lines in order to show how Ford is simplifying their ICE trimline offerings from here on out. It's been said that the Explorer will be next to simplify their trimline offerings in 2024. So it's possible that the rest, if not most, of the ICE vehicles will all have simpler trimlines at some point. What's interesting is that Ford actually separates the Mustang trims by standard and bundled option Premium Package for each of EcoBoost, GT, and Mach 1. There was a time when the Premium Package would just be an option for each of the trims except Shelby. But now it's EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium, Mach 1, and Mach 1 Premium. I can understand Ford's reasoning for this because it helps customers know what they're looking at when they look at the window sticker. If it says GT at the top of the sticker, then it's the non-optioned Premium version. If it says GT Premium then the customer knows it got extras included plus other possible available options that would not be available on base GT. At that point, the customer would need to look further down the sticker to see what other packages and options were included. However, I'm wondering if they may revert to just offering EcoBoost, GT, Mach 1, other trims such as Bullitt later on, etc. with optional Premium Package for each trims for the S650 Mustang.
  9. Yeah there's quite a difference there. I didn't realize Atlas Blue is darker until this pic you posted. The Explorer ST I seen was still sharp though.
  10. That's a shame then because I prefer the brighter hue of the Velocity Blue. I only seen few vehicles with the Atlas Blue, including aforementioned Explorer ST. It looked good but have not seen any pics of the two side by side. I like brighter rather than darker if given a choice. So it's a shame then that VB is going away. On a related note, I like the idea of the 'Black Diamond' package being offered on lower trims for the Bronco Sport.
  11. I like Velocity Blue too. It is being replaced by Atlas Blue on the Bronco Sport and unfortunately probably other vehicles too. Atlas Blue looks good too (seen an Explorer ST in this color and wow!!!) though I haven't seen side by side comparison of the two colors.
  12. I think that's a mistake by Jalopnik about Tremor being offered on front drive hybrid. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2023-ford-maverick-tremor-first-look-review/ Here are few more articles about Maverick Tremor. It's a package offered on XLT and Lariat instead of separate trimline. Uses the Bronco Sport Badlands' rear twin-clutch differential. Payload only drops by 300 pounds to 1,200 pounds. Towing capacity is 2,000 pounds which means the 4K Tow Package is likely not offered. This is to be expected since upgrading the off-road capability usually sees a drop of payload and towing capacities. I like it. It looks sharp and makes it even more capable to go off roading. https://www.autoblog.com/2022/08/01/2023-ford-maverick-tremor-reveal-off-road/ https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/ford-maverick-tremor-off-road-package/ https://fordauthority.com/2022/08/2023-ford-maverick-tremor-debuts-with-advanced-awd-unique-shocks/
  13. Detroit News is behind paywall so I can't read it. Here are some other articles regarding the news. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a40669316/ford-layoffs-to-fund-evs/ https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-20/ford-plans-up-to-8-000-job-cuts-to-help-fund-investments-in-evs https://www.barrons.com/articles/ford-layoffs-job-cuts-evs-51658347904
  14. I like the Raptor R. It will be interesting to see how soon it sells out for 2023.
  15. Right, he'll be gone by the time 7G Mustang's Job 1 production starts. However, the way he said '...as we prepare to introduce more great products like the seventh-generation Mustang', with emphasis on 'introduce', tells me that the 7G Mustang may be revealed soon. Perhaps before he retires but that's my guess.
  16. Hau has done so much for Ford, including bringing us the 2005 Mustang, as jcartwright99 said above. I'm surprised to see that he's retiring in a few months, since I figured he would have been around to introduce the 7G Mustang and oversee its production start. Best of luck to Hau and hope he enjoys his retirement. I'm not familiar with the other guy but hope he enjoys his next steps in life too.
  17. The sad thing is that someone will likely pay that price. The dealers will keep doing this until either the market changes or when people stop paying markups.
  18. The Territory looks good. I can see a bit of influence of front styling for the upcoming Escape update that was recently spied testing. You thinking that Ford may change their mind about the 100% BEV plans for Oakville? I think they're moving forward with the plans and that it'll happen. The Edge is unfortunately on its way out.
  19. Right. There was the Skyliner which was a retractable hardtop convertible during 1957-1959. It was previously a Crestline Skyliner in 1954 and Fairlane Crown Victoria Skyliner in 1955-1956. Ford did resurrect the Skyliner name as a luxurious concept van for the full-size Transit van. It was called the Ford Transit Skyliner. https://fordauthority.com/2021/07/ford-skyline-trademark-foreshadows-potential-future-vehicle/
  20. Oddly enough, Ford also trademarked the 'Skyline' name in America last year. The name was used by Nissan elsewhere so it was odd that Ford would trademark that here. Perhaps they just wanted to grab the name. I do think, however, the 'Thunder' will be a trim line. Like some others here, I think it will likely be a performance-tuned hybrid/plug-in hybrid ICE to go alongside the 'Lightning' EV.
  21. I loved that truck with the 90s look that a dealership did a few years ago. They did a great job with it including the retro chrome 'deep dish' style wheels with white-lettered tires along with even the chrome rollbars with off-road light covers. I remember reading about it and really liking it. Here's an old article from Ford Authority about it. This was around the time I started thinking about the then-upcoming 75th anniversary of F-Series. So, yeah, Ford is doing a Heritage Edition with a two-tone paint layout, though it's a different kind of two-tone layout. But don't get me wrong though, I actually like the Heritage Edition and would definitely get one if I was ever in the market for a new vehicle. I would get a Race Red middle with Gray top and bottom with PowerBoost Hybrid, if offered. Though I'm not driving due to my low vision. https://fordauthority.com/2019/07/bfp-retro-f-150-has-classic-two-tone-looks/
  22. Yeah, I like that combo too as I mentioned it in previous post. I'm surprised Ford didn't think of offering this along with gray center as was also offered back then too. They could still offer other colors for top and bottom but use the white or gray as center. I do like the unique grille and the interior though.
  23. I had wondered for the last couple years if Ford was going to do a 75th anniversary edition of the F-Series like they did the 50th anniversary during the 1998 model year. I like the Heritage Edition as announced, especially the Race Red and Gray. However, I do think in addition to these choices, they should have offered white midsection with other colors for the top and bottom like the 1980s and 1990s. I like the white midsection with red top and bottom during the 1992-1996 era, especially with that headlights and grille style from that time. The Ford Media video, that rperez817 posted the link above, showed the white midsection with red top and bottom with the 1987 and 1995 trucks, with the 1995 being my favorite with front styling. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/permalink.html?VideoId=6308459282112
  24. Yes, I download those as well and archived them in my folders. I have two separate folders, the 'brochures' and 'order guides' and then further folders within for the separate years. I do like the order guides with the color spots, wheel styles, and charts for trims and options. I especially like the front (main) page with a summary of what's new and deleted to the new model year compared to last year as well. I am sure Ford will keep doing order guides type of info for the dealerships which would be posted here for members to download. I didn't even think of order guides when I posted yesterday so I thank you for mentioning those. It just happens that I had already been downloading most of them annually for some time now. So I suppose I can make sure to keep doing that from now on as well as going back since they're archived here.
  25. True but some people would still like to download actual pdf files for off-line viewing. Some prospective customers may want to have some off-line files while doing their comparison shopping research of different vehicles. The advantage of brochure pdfs is that once downloaded, they can provide info of what was once offered for each vehicle of a given year, as versus a website that changes vehicle line-up info annually and previous info deleted. Like some others here, I also collected physical brochures over the years since I was a teen in mid-90s until the late 2000s. The local Ford dealership here still offers printed brochures, but I don't collect them much anymore since I know they're expensive to print for them to buy, and I let their actual customers pick them up. Occasionally, I'll go in there and pick up one or two. But only for unique ones like first-year Bronco and Maverick and final year Taurus, Flex, for example. I started downloading the pdfs of brochures since around 2007, from Ford and many other automakers, over the years and kept them in folders. I was so thrilled to see the even older brochures archived on the Ford Heritage Vault website that are also downloadable, though some are in larger file sizes. I do think that Ford will still offer downloadable guides, like the annual 'RV & Trailer Towing Guide', for example, with all the important info organized in one file that includes payload and towing capacities for the towable vehicles, plus other important info regarding towing.
