  1. Supposedly they're planning a "See the USA in a Chevrolet (Cruze)" program similar tot he Fiesta Movement.
  2. I thought the Vic would be a great car for me, see all these posts by people who love them. I'm a big n' tall guy, thought hey, full size car, what's not to love. Got one as a rental once on a business trip. Man did I find it uncomfortable. Could not find a single seating position that worked for me.
  3. Hope you guys don't mind me posting, but I like in the SW Suburbs of Chicago and have friends in NW Indiana. A friend's father who worked at CAP (since retired) lives in Schererville, IN, always seemed like a nice place to me. A couple cities worth looking at in my opinion are Schererville/Merriville/Hobart, Crown Point, Highland, and Munster. Michigan City seems like a hike to me.
  4. Ford cannot sell a Ford as a Lincoln without significant changes (Sell Kuga as a Lincoln). I don't see the need for a smaller Lincoln SUV. An Escape tophat won't sell in Europe. I think Kuga as a Ford in the US is both too close to the Edge, and too different from the Escape. So, if Ford determines that it needs a Kuga tophat, and an Escape tophat selling the Kuga tophat as a Mercury in the US makes a ton of sense.
  5. Yeah. Reminds me a little of an Olds Aurora, and a little of the Mercury Messenger concept. Man, that was a nice concept.
  6. I disagree. I think Mazda's naming scheme for their cars is very effective (not so much for their SUVs). Mazda2/3/5/6 is an excellent naming scheme in my opinion.
  7. I think an F100 makes a ton of sense, if it's basically a smaller, less capable, version of the F150. If that is the route Ford goes, I cannot see a unibody Explorer based truck being less expensive.
  8. C&D online has lost all credibility RE: Ford IMHO ever since they wrote a biased article against Ford because (To quote one of the editors in comments) The blow-jobbery about Ford in the media.
  9. Depends how you define SUV. Is GM Lamda a SUV? Pilot? MDX? They can tow 4,500-5,000#. Flex can tow 4,500#. I would expect the Explorer to to 4,500-5,000# and for Ford to consider that "SUV-like".
  10. All Acuras have been hit with the ugly stick. The ZDX is the worst of them. I'm pretty sure that the ZDX and Crosstour are not directly related either (From the "Automakers trying to be GM files")
  11. The Cruze is not bad, but the Focus is in a different league. I think the Chevy grill is overplayed, and the Daewoo version of the Cruze (with a more traditional grill) is much better looking.
  12. Isn't the Examiner the website where anyone can sign up to be a "journalist"?
  13. Escape/Kuga is supposed to go to Louisville, right? What of KCAP? Might it make sense for AAI to be overflow Fusion, LAP GRWD, and KCAP to continue to be Escape/Kuga? (Or, if Escape goes to LAP then GRWD to KCAP)
  14. It also solves the issue of the next MKS being based on the same platform as the next MKZ.
  15. Funny. I assume they could use the Borrego underpinnings. They cancelled it after what, a year?
  16. I'll be the first to admit that the MK names can be confusing (Though I would argue no more than other makes). But I always laugh when people long for certain names (Caddy folk seem to do this too). I prefer MKS to "Continental". MKZ to "Zephyr" or "LS". I suppose MKX or Aviator were toss-ups. The Caddy ones are even worse. Really? Catera vs. CTS? Deville/Seville vs. DTS/STS? I just don't see it.
  17. I would hope Ford is a little more protective now. Remember, the COTY was almost a Futura. Thank you Pepboys.
  18. I actually really like the sedan too...
  19. It's usually midnight EST, but it could also be the unveiling tomorrow.
  20. The "Global" 6 is smaller than the NA Mazda6 though, right? ETA: It appears the global is about 6 inches shorter than the NA Mazda6. Unfortunately in looking it up I stumbled across the Mazda6 Estate. I am going to go to my room a sulk.
  21. The dimensions are from Edmunds, so I guess they could be off, but I find it hard to believe. Did you sit in a 2009+ Mazda6? (The previous gen was definitely smaller)
  22. The 6 is longer than the Fusion and is nearly identical in most dimensions. Fusion - Exterior Length: 190.6 in. Width: 72.2 in. Height: 56.9 in. Wheel Base: 107.4 in. Curb Weight: 3638 lbs.
