  1. Congrats! I love the white on the hatch (The dealer we bought the Flex from had one when she was in for service).
  2. Is this part of, in addition to, or in lieu of Ford's "aggressive deceleration fuel shutoff system" as seen on the 2011 Edge?
  3. I didn't ask a question and don't see anything confusing about my statement. No. My intention was to say: "Please show me one legitimate source stating that there will be a 2/3 door Focus" Have you seen a 3 door mule? Concept?? Yes, I would be surprised if there isn't one, but to state that there will be one is not a matter of fact.
  4. The poster stated two things: there will be a 2/3 door Focus, and it will not be offered in the US. That may very well be the case, but neither are fact at this point. Just because Ford sells a Ranger in the US doesn't mean they will always do so.
  5. Please show me one legitimate source stating that there will be a 2/3 door Focus Yes, you are exactly the consumer Ford should target to remain a profitable company - niche wants without the money to pay for them.
  6. No. T6 is an all new truck platform. The Territory is a MCE of an existing vehicle based on the unibody platform shared with the Falcon.
  7. How is this MCE any less of an MCE than the MkX that BORG just bought [leased]?? Did it receive a new interior? Did it receive new powertrains? Did it get a new front clip? Was the rear revised? Did the greenhouse and doors remain largely unchanged? Does it look hot in black?
  8. The reports on the updates on syncmyride aren't very comforting (dealers having vehicles multiple days and not being able to update, etc). That said, most seem to report that the update does, in fact, help.
  9. BORG, you may as well throw in "in Metro Detriot" in your posts. At some point you, like Fordbuyer, need to realize not everyone is like you. Ford will be offering gas, electric, and PIH versions of the Focus. If you want an all-electric Volt, you are out of luck, if you want a PIH Leaf, too bad for you. Ford will be giving you options. Does an all-electric Focus make sense for a 30 something single male with a Lincoln fixation? Maybe not, But as a married 30 something with a 30 mile commute, and all-electric Focus is more appealing to me than a PIH one. Is the Volt different looking than the Cruze on which it is based? Sure. Does the Volt look much worse than the boring-as-a-Corolla Cruze? No argument. I fail to see how that is a benefit.
  10. Of course, you knew there were issues (You were the first report of issues I saw anyway) but still "had to have it". It sucks, as someone screwed by Ford's poor execution with SYNC (Though they are now beta testing a fix for my main issue) I feel for you. But on some level, you knew what you were getting yourself into. Ford's been lucky there hasn't been more press on it.
  11. The reason people like power sliders is it makes it easy to get your kids in the car, especially when you have your hands full. A power lift gate does not do that.
  12. Only if you plan on people throwing their kids over the back seat.
  13. Depends on the setup. If it were like my Escape, where just the glass is operable, it would seem pretty easy. If it were like the early 2000 Explorers, where there's sheetmetal that is operable as well, that's some extra stamping, etc.
  14. I wish the Explorer had a window hatch like that, it the chrome even makes it look like it should if you ask me:
  15. My son is in a front facing seat now. His legs are not yet long enough to bend like a normal seating position - they stick straight out. In the flex he has inches to spare. In the escape hes a near miss. In the Focus he'd likely be hitting the seat. The bigger issue is rear facing seats, especially rear facing infant seats. Our infant seat wouldn't fit in my wifes old VW without the passenger seat all the way up and tilted foreword (such that it could not be sat in)
  16. AFAIK the 2012 has a longer wheelbase, so the lack of rear leg room is curious. Focus (2011) 36.1 Focus (2012) 33.2 Cruze 35.4 HONDA FIT 34.5
  17. It's not like we're asking it to get bigger - I just wish it hadn't gotten smaller. The new model has 3 inches less rear leg room than the outgoing model.
  18. I have a Ford Escape and Flex. The Flex in particular has more rear legroom with the driver seat back than many cars with it pulled forward. I'm not even all that tall (6'4")
  19. I, and many people I know, would be unable to drive with the seat anything but all the wall back.
  20. Yes, what I find more interesting is that they plan to build that vehicle and have renderings that aren't 1/3 as good as ones done on this forum.
  21. I think Expedition and Navigator could shrink to T6 and still be successful.
  22. The Navigator wants it's braces back. Hm. Anybody want to venture into placing that clip on a Kuga?
  23. How exactly was the PI "Built from the ground up" as a Police Vehicle, while the VIC wasn't?
  24. Doesn't it seem like the powertrains may get updated sooner rather than later? (To match the ones in the 150). Personally, I'd like to see the Expedition and Navigator go T6 and split the difference between the BOF Explorer and Expedition.
